He floated down from the air, landing a little away from the gathering, his red eyes glowing slightly, his telekinesis was powerful enough to where he could pretty much fly, his clothing was simple, a t-shirt with a light coat, as a vampire the cold didn't bother him much.

As he walked toward the tree he reached into his coat pocket to make sure his ornament was still there, things occasionally fell out of his pocket, a relieved smile appeared on his face as he felt the ornament. This was the first Christmas he'd celebrated in a year, and he had something to be very grateful for, his new girlfriend Narraine, she was special to him.

His smile turned into a grin as he spotted her looking at the tree, as he walked to her he sent a psychic greeting to her, "hello beautiful," his telepathy was handy, he and and Narraine could have a conversation without anyone listening in. He stepped beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, and kissed her cheek.

Oh, whatever. Apparently this was supposed to be some big, event or something. It was close enough to where she was, so Claire had decided to go. No, it wasn't the most exciting thing to do, but at least it got her out of the forest and away from all her current struggles. The girl sighed, eyeing everyone as she entered in. There was a few familiar faces for sure, but mostly she kept to herself. Why cause someone to notice her? It really wasn't worth it considering the state she was in. She tried to smile at people as she moved closer to the snacks, wanting a little nibble of something.

Peace
Peace had seen June do a couple of laps of the rink before her, and it was fair to say that he was considerably more skilled than her. Yet as she bumped into him, he didn't point out her embarrassing attempt at skating, or stopping, or even bumping into him. His smile was welcoming, and she managed to give one back, though it was more out of relief than anything else. She had been lucky that she bumped into a nicer person. She had heard that many citizens were much nastier. He was a polite guy, which she appreciated, and it helped her to relax and return to her usual calm state.

The skating offer was a hard one for Peace to refuse. A chance to learn how to skate and meet somebody new in the process? She decided to accept, saying "Yeah, that'd be nice," and taking his extended hand. He guided her into the middle of the rink, and they started to skate together. "This is harder than it looks!" She commented, struggling to stay upright. Maybe she would get used to the motions after a while, she was improving, but she could only be patient and keep on going.

Lorenzo Moretti
While leering at the growing crowd, Lorenzo spotted the first truly inhuman looking thing he'd seen since arriving on the island. He unabashedly stared at the half snake lady. He'd never seen or heard of whatever the fuck that thing was. He sneered an over exaggerated expression that left him looking a lot sourer than he actually felt.

It was lucky (or unlucky, depending really on which party you asked) that he was standing near enough to her that when he called out, it wouldn't attract the attention of the entire party.

"The fuck are you?"

June led Peace by the hand to the middle of the ring. Judging by how heavy her hand seemed, she was struggling quite a lot. June couldn't really say he could blame her since this was a first for her. He chose to go for a slow glide across the rink, just so he could be sure she couldn't trip and fall. "To be fair, it is harder to find your balance on narrow blades," he pointed out, reaching out his other hand for her other so he could guide her better. "And I do owe a few years of experience for that, if I have to be honest." A wistful look passed his gaze, simply remembering when he used to celebrate Christmas with his family before. He rarely ever visited and he wouldn't deny getting homesick every now and then.

The look was gone as soon as it appeared and he gave Peace a reassuring smile. "You are doing better than most, you know? Not everyone can even stay upright unguided on their first try. I'd say you're quite impressive."

Britta Viveka Strand
Yura Bengall

Unfortunately, Mia was still too….”sick” to attend the celebration with the rest of her coworkers, but Britta was there. She was flying up above the Christmas tree, her iridescent Fae wings glittering from the holiday lights as she snapped photos. Britta often volunteered as a photographer for events: it was good publicity for both Dorian’s company and herself, after all.

Accompanying Britta was a….date?? That was not exactly the right word to describe Yura Bengall, but nonetheless they had gone to the ceremony together. Britta had mentioned it to her, and Yura decided it wouldn’t hurt to maybe go out and see it for once. Then she could take Britta home with her and have some fun.

Britta flitted back down to her companion, looking through the photos on her professional camera. Yura wrapped an arm around her waist and peered over her shoulder.

“They look really nice, babe,” Yura said, her fingers lightly brushing down along her hip.

“Thank you,” Britta replied, before looking up and…making a face.

“What?”

Britta gestured in the direction of Malara and Dorian.

“What are they…wearing…?”

Yura laughed. “Oh, please tell me that is Dorian.”

Britta puffed out a cheek. “That…yes…that would be my boss.”

“Want to go talk to them?”

“Not really.”

“Well, too bad. I do,” and with that, Yura dragged Britta by the waist over to the two. Oh, yes, the hideous Christmas sweaters were even more incredible up close. Britta barely wanted to even be associated with the two in that moment, but as they approached she did speak up.

“Ah, Malara, Dorian--this is my friend Yura,” Britta said, and Yura gave her a look. That ‘right, just friends, gals being pals, sure’ look.

“I’m already familiar with Malara,” Yura said, smirking at her. “And I already feel like I know Dorian from how much Mia talks about him. It’s a pleasure,” she said, holding out a hand to shake.

“Those sweaters…why…?” Britta couldn’t help herself, staring between the two. They even…had lights…and Dorian was wear his over his Armani coat. Why. Why any of this. Why did she work for this man.

She/her
Before he could even get to her, Narraine had become aware of Jared's presence. She had caught his scent on the crisp winter air. A smile crossed her lips as she waited, her tongue flicking out again, delivering the promise of her boyfriends arrival, as well as the sweet scent of her spiced chai hot chocolate. Before long she could hear his voice in her mind as he neared and put his arm around her. "Beautiful? Who?" She asked out loud with a smile, knowing full he meant her. He had always been an affectionate fellow, and often called her such things. It was sweet and made her feel special.

With a quick turn of her head she gave him a kiss on the cheek. "this is all beautiful. You guys really do know how to have a pretty holiday. Even in the cold." She chuckled a little as she looked back up at the tree. She pulled from her pocket her ornament. It was a clear ball with a string attached to it. Nothing inside, just empty space. one could look through it if they tried. "You have an ornament for the tree yes?" She asked with a smile. She had been told that everyone was encouraged to bring something. She had a little surprise with her's that she was looking forward to revealing.

Before she could get an answer though a voice caught her hear and forced her to turn on the spot. At first it was the accent that caught her attention, but the actual words that were spoken quickly rang in. He had addressed her rather rudely. At least she had assumed he was addressing her, he was after all looking at her. "Excuse me?" She asked rather shortly. she could feel her own temper rising a bit as she spoke to Lorenzo. She could already tell his type. He was a bigger fellow, over 6 feet, never really had many people to give him problems, so he went around speaking rudely knowing that no one really wanted to deal with him. If he kept this up he would be in for a harsh awakening.

Peace
June was slowly gliding around the rink with ease, Peace virtually dragging along behind him. She had finally figured out how to balance, but was struggling to mimic the sliding motion other skaters used. Every time she tried to copy the way June was moving she ended up squeezing his hand to regain her balance. Thanks to him, she hadn't fallen over and was learning fast. She hoped it wasn't too big an inconvenience for him to be helping her.

She gripped his other hand when he held it out. Perhaps if she wasn't worried about balance she could get the hang of the glide. She was too concentrated on her feet to see his facial expressions, but thought she saw a hint of a smile as he spoke. It didn't matter much to her, everyone seemed to be more relaxed around her anyway.

Peace was flattered by June's reassurance. She thought she was doing terribly, so the fact that most people are the same was admittedly very satisfying. "Thankyou!" She said, surprised, "Hopefully I can get a bit better, though. I don't want to have to hold somebody's hand while skating forever." By forever, she meant literally. June wasn't aware of that, but she knew she had plenty of time to learn the skill.

"I hope you weren't planning on doing anything else at the moment," she said uncertainly. She had never intended to spoil his night.

Dorian Crawford

Dorian made a fake gasp and pressed a hand to his neon, Comic Sans covered chest. "Can I pick option C where I get to wear the sweater and you take your shirt off? No? Alright, then."

Just then, a couple of magic lesbians approached them. Dorian's face lit up at spotting Yura and Britta. Dorian grinned and shook Yura's hand. "One of Mia and Britta's friends, huh? I'm surprised we haven't been acquainted! Dorian Crawford, as you already know. Fitzwilliam and Fitzmas, to some wrong circles. Don't mind them."

He broke into a fit of laughter at Britta's outrage. Her being mortified made it all way better! He placed a hand around Malara's waist to pull her close and made some peace signs. "Take some pics of us in front of the big tree. I wanna put it on the company website, watch my competitors lose their shit. It'll be hilarious."

A soft chuckle passed June's lips, "Well, skating in my lonesome until I'm tired of it doesn't exactly sound like a 'plan' for a full evening, if you ask me," he explained, "I certainly don't mind company, if that's what you're worried about." Being outdoors where there were enough people was good enough for June but nothing really did beat being in someone's company when he's been feeling rather stressed out from school to lift his spirits. She wouldn't need to hear the full story of that.

"And don't worry too much; I'm confident you'll be able to get the hang of this before the night ends." June gave her a few pointers as he guided her around the rink, but he didn't let go of her hands — not until she said anything, or at least when her grip didn't tighten every other turn. "I do hope you're not pressuring yourself on this though; I understand it takes a while to get used to."
