The truth revealed, anarchy ensues

That was... a lot of money. For a moment, Cass let herself entertain the idea of being nauseatingly rich; never waitressing again was a tantalising notion, as was travelling to Greece to see the ancient sites her father had been so enamoured of, hell - travelling all over the world to see every significant ruin and artefact that an archaeologist's child could dream of. She could even have her art exhibited. She could buy her own art gallery just to do it.

When Fordren contacted her, projecting his thoughts easily over the distance, she frowned briefly and scanned - there was no better word for it - for his location. He was coming closer, an approaching glow in the web that linked them. Oh, good. He'd noticed the magic trick with the link and now he was going to get her killed. It's nothing I can't handle, she thought, her thoughts showing more emotion - currently, anxious anger - than her spoken voice would have. I'm serious, Pink Ranger, back off.

Then the guy's hands were on her shoulders, and Cass sharply returned to reality. Concentrating, she relaxed her muscles by briefly tensing them and letting the stress slide away like she did when meditating. Her only priority right now was to get out of this alive, and that meant being complacent and not punching the guy who kept invading her personal space.

"Deal." At some point he'd be occupied doing something else, and she could use her ability against him. She'd much rather not have to smash someone's brain apart again, but clearly wanting no part in this equated to death, so... "I can lead you to the school. I'm guessing you don't need my help fighting, which is just as well 'cause I suck at it." That was true enough. She was okay at destroying people, though.

Turning, she began to lead an assassin towards a bunch of kids, and ruthlessly squished any wimpy morality that protested. "My name's Cass. You have a codename or something?"

Alistair looked down at himself while running, clearly unable to determine what she meant by Pink Ranger. He ignored her words otherwise, however. If she ended up showing emotion on the outside because of a mental conflict between the two of them, then whoever it was she was with could get suspicious.

He had nearly made it to them by now. He could sense that she was awfully close, and that the two of them had apparently began making preparations to move. Was their movement in the direction of the school? Why would she be going there?

This wasn't good. Considering the glimpse of memory he had retrieved from her earlier when the link broke, whoever it was she was with was clearly suspicious. It was possible it was all a misunderstanding - but something told him it was not so simple.

But for now, information was required. As he came up closer to them, he was sure to stay behind trees out of sight for now. Of course, she could easily tell where he was. But he wondered exactly how far Cass would go to keep him away from her.

He silently prayed to Adonai for guidance.

Miles kept at his pace steady so he could think to himself about everything that had happened so far today. He would have to find that roof professor later and ask him a few questions of his own about this school. Hearing wings coming Miles turned and saw a flying Cyan. He quickly reached out his hand and grabbed the flying weasel for the second time today, making sure to hold him away from his face. “Now, now save that for when we go outside, so I can get a good look at them,” Miles said carrying the weasel all the way to the room that they had been in originally.

Seeing that Sorcha had already made it back and there was also a newcomer to the scene. He had caught the end of her statement about the fairy village. “I’d also like to know where this fairy village is also, little one,” Miles said thinking to himself that she would be a good candidate for looking into how humans act and develop. “But, before that my name is Miles and I’m a half-demon, what is yours?” Miles would see how she reacts to the fact that he was a demon.

Naka exited about the same time as Miles but he let them have their moment talking to Tien and some girl he was pretty sure he hadn't seen before. His she was a bit young for him though, she looked like she was about twelve years old and he most certainly wasn't about to become a Lolicon . Still, Sorcha seemed to be engaged with her and that was enough for him to at least give her a second glance as he continued heading out to a more open venue for training.

——————————————————-

Tatsu looked at the girl as she agreed to the deal.
"Remember, we are contingent on me being alive and my mission being complete, no mission no deal. Given that, especially if you want the money, I would stick with me until it's done." He said to her. Then, just as serious as he had spoken this he added;
"However, i'll give you the option to leave. I promise i won't kill you, and you can go where ever you want once we reach the school, though you won't get the money if you don't earn it." He rather liked the girl, she had the capacity to be complacent, but something told him she had an inner lioness just begging to get out. And to think he had considered threatening to rape her before.
"I suppose you do catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar." He thought to himself.

Finally she took of walking, and he followed quietly, his hand in his pocket as he kept the device that blocked his mind off from most psychic phenomenon active and going. Roughly ten more hours left on the battery and he would be just as vulnerable as any other. He would need to move fast.
"My name's Cass. You have a codename or something?" Well that was an odd occurrence. Most likely she was trying to maintain the littlest bit of control, and he would at least allow her that.
"I have many code names. My assigned number is RZ941, I'll spare you what that means. The family that trained me though, gave me the name Tatsujin Shishigami." He answered, electing to give her the longer explanation for the sake of that control she may or may not have wanted.

Cyan made a mildly annoyed face as he said to Miles, "Remember the warning thing we talked about? I know I'm smaller than you, and I look like something that would make a good housepet, but you've gotta stop doing that." Cyan made his wings disappear into his back again. Once the group entered the courtyard, he hopped out of Miles' arms, landing flat on his face but quickly getting back up to an upright position, hoping no one noticed his awkward landing.

When Cyan looked at the young looking girl, he thought he caught a tiny glimpse of something unsettling in her expression. However, it was only for a split second, and Cyan payed it little notice. She seemed like a friendly enough person. Upon hearing her last comment, Cyan responded to the newcomer, "I didn't even know fairies had...neighborhoods. This, I gotta see." Turning to the fairy, who looked positively ecstatic, he asked, "Hey Tien, Friend of yours?"

Sorcha watched as Tien got excited at the prospect of a neighborhood of fairies. She wasn't sure why but she had a deep down gut feeling that something was a little off about this "new" girl. She looked at Suze and mentally shook her head, maybe it was just her mind going bonkers again. But something, instinct, gut, or her natural reserve made her step in front of Tien and offer up her own information about neighborhoods of fairies.

"Tien, I'm not sure where the ones are that Suze is talking about, but I knew two brothers that were fairies back home in Ireland. My father is a police liason between the community of those with powers and the local law enforcement. I used to spend a lot of time with them, they were twins and they used to like to play tricks on me. So, yes there are others and if you don't mind waiting, maybe I can make arrangements for you to meet them."Upon hearing both Miles and Cyan's statements she she turned and spoke to them,"You are more than welcome to come as well if you want. We could make a vacation of sorts out of it. The village itself is in the local park but they are very friendly, just like our Tien here."

Because she was pretty sure that Tien considered her a friend she was hoping that she would not go off willy nilly based on what the newcomer said but wait for her and maybe the others to take her to see more fairies. She just wasn't sure what the problem was with this Suze was, maybe it was because she looked so perfect. On the heels of that thought she wondered what this girls powers were. She could find out if she had any mental powers and what they might be if she could manage to get somewhere safe. Using her power of negation for mental powers quite often drained her tremendously. She would also have to figure out how to do it without the girl suspecting.

Coming out of her musings she realized that she had been quite a little too long. To cover it up she shook her head as if in exasperation,"Sorry, I was standing here waiting for Naka and wondering if he already took off and I just didn't see him." She said to Miles, Cyan and Tien,"Well, should we go catch up to him so that we can practice?" With that she walked by Suze and sincerely hoped she didn't want to come and that none of her new friends were so friendly that they invited her along.

———————————————————————————————

Suze watched as the two others from the little group walked up to the clearing where the three of them were talking. Ooooh, she thought as she saw the guy with the black hair and the red eyes. What did we have here? He was way better looking than that one kid, Naka. She vaguely noticed the little thing that landed with a splatter on the ground. What was it anyways? a weasel? a rat? oh the hell with it, she didn't know and didn't care, immediately dismissing "it" as being inconsequential to her. Looking back at the red eyed hottie she smiled at him as he introduced himself to her.

"Hey, nice to meet you, my name is Suzume but everybody calls me Suze."Hot Lucifer's Aunt Lottie! He was half demon! Her already wide eyes opened up even further, not in fear or surprise, but in pure joy. Whoop!, she thought to herself, if he was half demon than he was just probably playing around with the "goodies" like she was. She was so going to have to get him alone to talk to him and see what is plans were for the group. She could try to read him but if he found out he could possibly get really really angry. She didn't want that, not if she was going to have fun at the expense of the bunch of brats.

She turned when she heard Sorcha's thoughts broadcasting in her head loud and clear. So, the little red haired witch thought that she could negate her power uh? Hmm, might be fun to play with her. She might consider sending some mind blasts into that undoubtedly small brain of hers and teaching her a lesson in trying to play with her. However, she was trying to see how things would play out, as long as she could spend time with the demon she would ride this out.

She took a step to follow the group when Sorcha made her comment about finding Naka until she "heard" what was said but not out loud. So, the little She-rah didn't want her coming uh? Now, she was going to make sure she went anyways. And she was having second thoughts about using that mind blast, she was now leaning more towards sooner than later.

Apparently everyone here knew fairies except the fairy. Though she was once again having difficulty keeping up, Tien was no less excited about the topic. Sorcha knew boy fairies! Tien had suspected that they had to exist, given her theory on procreation, but it still came as quite a shock to have it confirmed. But they were in something called an Ireland - was that far away, or could she fly to it?

Inadvertently ignoring Cyan, Tien zipped in front of the redhead's face, eyes wide as saucers. "What are their names? Where's the nearest Ireland? Do they have a whole family? Do they speak The English? What do they look like?"

She'd temporarily forgotten anything existed other than Sorcha's memories.

Of course, despite explicitly telling the angel to stay away, he'd turned up anyway. Her palms went slick with sweat as her mind worked feverishly to figure out her next move. Right now, she had a plan to keep herself alive and she did not want a do-gooder screwing it up. That said, if she got the assassin to his target, Fordren's combat abilities would come in very useful. There was a chance she could use his unwanted presence to mitigate her devil's pact, but he was unpredictable. Fordren didn't consider her an equal, much less a leader, and was therefore capable of ignoring her orders and getting her killed.

Goddamn angels.

Biting her lip, she listened to the guy as he proceeded to offer her what she really wanted - a way out of this life-or-death scenario. This swayed her more than all the hypothetical money ever could have; he was a bad guy, sure, but he just wanted directions. He even answered her question about his name - she hadn't expected to be given anything beyond a short 007-style handle. All right, fine, he had a streak of honour or, or respect or something - but he disintegrated stuff with his hand and wanted to take over the island, so it didn't matter how well he treated her.

Lowering her mental barrier, Cass contacted the lurking figure. I need you to run in about five seconds. Double-back to the school; they're going to need you there. Try not to kill this guy later - you'll need to know who he's working for.

Halting dead in her tracks, she whirled, finger pointed towards Fordren's location. "We're being followed - I can feel it!"

Score one for the fake empath. Alistair should have taken off just as she revealed him, but of course that was dependent on him listening to a command, so...

He had to admit he was rather impressed. He was afraid that perhaps she truly had fallen to the dark side and decided to choose greed over life. Or whatever it was this person was looking for. As soon as she began telling him to return to the school he was instantly able to infer her plan. He did exactly as she instructed, in addition to telepathically "sending" her an incredibly detailed map of his travel route. Apparently, he knew the majority of this forest quite well already.

Would you happen to know if he is a good tracker? It may be a good idea to take a route with as much space between mine as possible. If he truly is some sort of 'secret agent', there is no telling what sort of skills he may have. It is indeed possible he will realize your ploy if he notices my tracks. I will do my best to conceal them, but that is difficult to do in this season and at the speed required for me to get back to the academy in time.

He did exactly as she had told him to, stealthing his way around the area before reaching a safe distance that he knew he could run without being heard.

Cass, may I ask your permission to view the situation from your perspective? This way I can gather as much information as possible to prepare. Then again, if he was part of some sort of group, then there may be more than one threat.

Miles looked at the new girl who had called herself Suze. He circled around her getting a better look at her. That wasn’t the exact response he was expecting. Everybody around this school seemed to have an open perspective. Darkness started to circle around Miles as he thought about the girl’s looks. He could feel his body getting smaller. As the darkness drifted away from Miles he had turned into this new girl Suze. It wasn’t a perfect copy as he didn’t know every detail about her figure. Miles thought to himself Wonder how shell deal with this. Miles looked the new girl straight in the eyes. “Nice to meet you,” Miles said trying to match the girl’s voice.

Miles turned to talk to Sorcha “So we will go…,” Miles was caught off guard by thechange forgetting that he had become the girl’s height. Sorcha had gotten taller than he had to look up at the girl now. Regaining his composure Miles finished his sentence, “to this fairy village another day then. I agree that it would be fun to go out to see it sometime.” Miles would like to observe the fairies habitat. “Well, Naka’s waiting on us so shall we go? Would you like to come with us Suze?” Miles asked the girl with her own face.
