Miles was holding the fire he had made in to his right hand when he heard something hit the ground. He snuffed the flame out between his hands and looked up to see everyone moving toward Sorcha who had fallen. He heard Suze as Sorcha if she was okay and decided to go over to check out what had happened to her. He wondered if she had tripped while she was training with Naka and had injured herself. Earlier when he had seen her she didn’t seem like the kind of person to do that, but you couldn’t judge a book by its cover.

Miles reached over to pick up his sword, stood up, and began to walk over to where Sorcha was seeing as how the others were checking on her. He saw a person approaching them in a rush and decided to see who he was. It looked like everyone was going to crowd around Sorcha and he didn’t want to be caught up in a huddle. He didn’t know the boy that was approaching but he heard him call on Naka. He figured that seeing what had made this kid rush over here. Miles directed himself toward Naka since that was who the kid was heading toward.

When the stranger got close enough to Miles where he could talk to him without having to yell Miles asked “What’s your name?” Miles didn’t think this was probably the most appropriate time for it but he was curious about this knew kid that had come to the scene and what had made him rush over.

Naka first directed his attention toward the girl, Suzume, upon Sorcha's mention of what had happened, he remembered a similar experience at the cave with Alistair, and the Illithid mind blasts that rendered a similar but very watered down effect thanks to his Eternal Drive. If it was a mind blast that left only one who could possibly have done it. He knew it wasn't Miles because he had copied Mile's powers, he knew it wasn't Cyan because he would have had to have gotten that power from someone else given what they had just found out, it couldn't have been Tien because fairies weren't exactly reknown for their mind blasts, and he knew it wasn't Alistair because... wait Alistair?

He turned in the direction of his friend, awaiting the news of some new area where this object he searched for might be located. Still, despite taking the time to wave he, took the time required fro Alistair's approach to talk to Sorcha, Miles moved up to speak to him which would buy a little more time anyway.
"It wasn't Miles, i have his powers, and Cyan, Tien, and I don't have mind blasts. It would have to be that new girl which means something is wrong." He said. It also occurred to him that he could shapeshift like Miles had earlier but with Alistair approaching now was not the time.

—————————

Tatsu regarded Cass's question with a measure of disdain, in part because he really didn't know the answer. He had never known anything else but he had never considered it either.
"I get paid with my life. Change is fine by the way, it really doesn't matter as long as it's something small and non-living." At this point it would be fruitless, whether he suspected anything or not, to hide anything about his powers or his purpose from her, at the very least though he could judge her for the time being, using reasoning. One of the backup agents he had called for had the ability to read subspacial distortions, a side effect of using powers was that one would create such distortions, and apparently the distortions could be read and manipulated. It really wasn't important how much she knew about him, but he kept the knowledge of the specializations of his backup a secret.

"how about you? What brings a lovely girl such as yourself to the forest?" He asked. If they were going to get to know each other he might as well have some fun, that being said, he might be able to lull her into a sense of security of he could manage to seduce her, in order to do that he would have to make her feel like she wasn't a prisoner anymore. Given that, he didn't bother trying to say anything too extravagant, simply a question idle conversation for their few remaining minutes in the forest. They would get to the school soon according to the time frame Cass had given him so his most recent little whimsical mental journey into someone's panties was alas but a dream.

————————-

on the opposite side of the island, four people simply appeared from nowhere. Flash king, Speed demon, Reflector, and Wind god, the four agents requested by Tatsujin Shishigami, teleported in thanks to flash king's abilities. Now all to be done was to wait for the signal flare. Each of them had brought neural disruptors to protect from psychic attacks or mind reading attempts.
"The hell is this s***, The Black Reaper wants help on this piddly ass island?" VY341, Windgod said. Oh he was angry, in part because the rank 3 in his name was demeaning every time he had to work on a mission because it meant he wasn't in charge of anything, but his power level was closer to rank 9. Then again he had been warned power wasn't going to be everything.
"Watch your mouth, it's unprofessional and we have children present." NM567, Flash King replied, understanding Windgod's annoyance but still more collected.
"I'm not a kid, and besides, speed demon is only a year older than me! If reaper called it's because his cover was blown." RX922, Reflector answered, protesting the remark about his age.
"We wait for the signal flare and we approach as instructed. We can ask reasons when the mission is over. Just consider it an honor we were called on by the Black Reaper." TZ 936 ordered, though younger than half the group, he was in charge until they met up with their superior.

——————————————

Zetsu followed the prophesy he had been given, making his way into the forest. He would buy time for his son, slow down the invaders, and sacrifice himself, though he would surely try to avoid that. This was his day to die and he even knew the name of the one to kill him, but that didn't matter right now.
"I'll buy you as much time as i can Nakata." He thought to himself as he traveled into the forest, invisible among the shadows but not to certain empathic abilities.

When Cyan saw Sorcha fall to the ground holding her head, it only took him a moment to turn and dive toward her and Naka. He awkwardly landed and headed toward Sorcha, hearing Naka's comment. "Okay, what's going on?" he asked, turning and running to the new girl, Suze, "Okay, listen up. If Naka has reason to believe that you just used a... mind blast on Sorcha, then I hope you have an impressive explanation prepared." Naka was not the type to make accusations like that without reason, and the idea that someone would try to cause harm to one of his new friends made him very angry. "So? What's the deal? You have anything to say?" he said. Cyan surprised himself, as it was unusual for him to get so worked up when speaking to someone. He barely even noticed the tall young man talking to Naka.

Sorcha heard Suze asking her if she was okay as she was listening to Naka's reasoning for thinking the newcomer was the one who used the mind blast. She nodded her head slightly to show her agreement and was following Suze's progress as she came towards her when she saw Tien hovering nearby."I'm okay Tien, just very confused at the moment as to why your new friend, and I'm sorry but that is who I think it was, would do that to me"

Sorcha turned her head as she heard someone yell for "Master Naka" and saw a young man or boy running towards the group. When Miles intercepted him she turned around just in time to see Cyan headed towards Suze. Uh-oh, she thought when she heard the tail end of Cyan's remarks. She appreciated him sticking up for her, especially in light of having just met each other earlier, however, she was starting to think Suze was not somebody you wanted to mess with.

"I'm going to take care of that"she gestured towards Cyan and Suze."maybe I can get an explanation, maybe not, but either way I am thinking that girl is nothing but trouble"

——————————————————————

Suze stopped dead in her tracks when the blue groundhog looking thing came up to her and started accusing her of going after the red haired brat. Oh crap!, really? she thought. This thing was going to call her out all by himself? She could fry his brain before he even knew what happened and nobody could prove it was her! What was the deal anyways? Didn't this group just form today? Already they were defending each other?

Shaking herself out of her thoughts she wondered if she took too long to answer Cyan if that made her guilty in his eyes. Although, she thought, it pretty much sounded like he already thought that. Glancing around she saw Sorcha headed her way with a determined look on her face. It was time to put on her innocent act and make it damn convincing.

Wait! Maybe she could get out of it another way. Thinking furiously she turned away from Cyan and took a steps toward Miles "Hey Naka, that guy that just ran up here and is with Miles said he had something urgent to talk to you about"With that she walked away from Cyan and a fast approaching Sorcha and headed to where Miles and the guy were standing. She could only hope that the boy had something important that would take the heat off of her. As she escaped from the inquisition she thought to herself, all of this because she wanted to have a little fun? Damn, but these people were so boring.

Shrugging, Cass handed over a few stray nickels and dimes; no point getting in hot water for no benefit. Yeah, he can transform all small objects into whatever. If you've got a telekinetic kid prepared, that'd help keep things out of his reach. She hardly considered his initial answer; being raised to be a weapon as he'd alleged was, in a way, worthy of pity and compassion; continuing to do it because his alternative was death merely reinforced that. But he had a choice. It wasn't a good choice, but it was there, and he'd chosen to be what they'd made him - whoever the hell 'they' were - and she wasn't going to make excuses for him. Cass did, momentarily, wonder what her choice would have been. There was a dark suspicion that she wouldn't have elected to die, either - but she'd never know for sure, so why ponder it?

"I'm not lovely," she answered, and her lip curled faintly with contempt. "And I was there because I wanted to be." That was swiftly becoming her go-to answer when people asked irritating questions like that. Deflection was the better part of not killing them.

Scratching her nose, she sent a final message to Fordren. Sixty seconds. Take positions and pray we get there before his pals do.

Her grey eyes narrowed as she looked ahead. "Less than a minute away. See that stand of trees?" she asked rhetorically, pointing at it. "The corner of the wall is right behind it. I don't know the school's layout, so you'll be on your own from there on."

He nodded to Miles in acknowledgment before answering his question. "My name is Alistair, friend, however I am afraid we have no time even for introductions." Despite the dilemma that had clearly developed between a few of these students - he could sense their emotions, after all - he forcibly intervened in hopes of getting their attention. "Everyone! Your lives are in danger!" He shouted with intention of getting them to look at him.

Sixty seconds!? Darn, this was taking him longer than it should have. If he didn't get everyone to cooperate this would likely not turn out well, they would be caught unawares. "Nakata! we must prepare the school grounds, they are about to be attacked by outsiders with strange abilities. We do not have time to tarry here! It is my recommendation that at least two of you return to the inside of the school and warn the teachers. They must lock down the school and prepare for an assault." The way he shouted out made it seem as if he had experience leading armies, despite that he looked like some random teenager. "Nakata, you and anyone else here willing to do so must warn the rest of the grounds and prepare for battle. I have confidence that you can lead a group of those willing into battle. Anyone not comfortable in this situation must return to the school immediately for they will be safest there."

Miles looked at Alistair who had just yelled out some big warning at the group here to gather more people like making a mini army. He wasn’t sitting this out no matter what anyone said. It seemed like things were about to get fun around here. It’s a good thing that the other students were here because he knew next to nothing about this school. Miles figured that the others would be a bit better at gathering people than a random new student. “I think I’ll stick with you for the time being, since I only know the people standing here and I want to see what you do, Alistair,” Miles said to him while giving a little grin.

Seeing that Suze had come over from the other group in a rush, he said “I trust that you are done playing around over there. It seems like you got them angry at you.” Miles had only heard a little of what they were talking about over there but he had gotten that Suze was the one who made Sorcha fall. That wasn’t something he cared about at the moment it seemed that this battle would be tougher than any other he had fought before. He turned to look at the others to see how they would respond to the news. He was rather excited by how this day was going.

Naka turned to Alistair but wasn't about to just turn tail and run. He could safely assume that no one else was going to volunteer to go get other students either but he couldn't agree with Alistair's assessment of the situation either. If what he said was true, going to get someone else would only weaken their numbers as it couldn't be guaranteed that others could be bolstered in time. Added to that if the teachers assumed it to be a joke, the students going to get help would only be delayed further, and he could almost assuredly foresee that being the case.
"Warning anyone erse wirr only deray us further. We do not know if anyone wirr think of it as anything but a joke. What exactry is going on?" He asked, still concerned about Sorcha's situation but unable to do anything about it at current.

———————-

Tatsu accepted her change but she was being far to complacent now. Was it the money involved? For now there was no way of knowing but in the past when he had taken "willing hostages" they didn't just go relax the way this girl had. She might have a unique personality, that or... Now was not the time for that, he would need to be prepared.
"Well I suppose this is close enough. Assuming you've led me in the right direction thus far, you can go home now. I'll contact you once the mission is over so that I can wire the funds to your account." He said, walking forward past her. It was almost too easy. Other than the fun runner before, there had been no opposition and very little in the way of snags.
"This was almost too ea-" His words were cut off but a disturbance to the right, and he reached out his right hand and looked just in time to see a spear made of what appeared to be roiling shadow simply dissipate.

————————-

Zetsuhiro Kagerouryu emerged from the shadows.
"Before the island school, thou shall meet their death upon the snow, knowing only that thou hast bought the time for the heir to survive. Beware the black reaper." Those were the words spoken to him over two hundred years ago, words that had only recently become remotely clear.
"Black Reaper, I was told I was supposed to fight you here." He said, making no move as he attempted to buy some time. He needed at least four more minutes so that shadow manipulation wouldn't hinder him. force fields and blasts of energy were going to be his ally in this fight.
"Why have you come to this island? For a simple mission? Or do you have your own agenda?"

———————————

"You know master, I don't think the wind fairy's treasure is here. Is this an island vacation?!?" The little buzzing azure fairy said excitedly. She 'belonged' to windgod, but in part she just felt indebted since he saved the wind fairy village a year ago. None of the other fairies agreed to travel with him, but she left and never looked back and despite her personality, he tolerated her because she bolstered his powers.
"Does this look like a f***ing island vacation to you? We're on a mission so shut the f*** up and just wait quietly like the others." He scolded.
"You know, with that attitude i'm surprised you have any friends at all... Except the trees here, there's a lot of trees here! Hey did I ever tell you about my friend Ozland back home? He found a genie one day, at least... I think it was a genie, but it granted wishes and one day he went to visit the flame fairies and well things got rough and they ended up burning down a nearby forest which is where he found the genie... spirit... WISH GIVER! Anyway, he was granted one wish and it was winter like it is now, and the wish giver asked him if he wanted to wish all the forest back to life and he said 'Hell no i want a christmas tree!'" Ostephana said as she zipped up and down, left and right, and around in circles almost as if her little flight pattern were enhancing the story.

"For the love of all that is holy do you ever shut the f*** up. I don't give a flying f*** if the world around you is interesting as s*** to you. If you get eaten by something here, I'm f***in shoving my c*** in your a$$ after I cut its god damn head off." While the rest of the troupe only shook their head at windgod's foul mouth, the fairy, unphased by the flurry of expletives and threats, opened her eyes wide and grinned before zipping around excitedly.
"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I love you too!!! I knew I could always count on you to save me!" Apparently the only thing she got from that whole string of comments was that he would save her if she got eaten.

"You really need to learn to watch your mouth Windgod." Reflector said.

Holy crap! Cyan had actually managed to intimidate Suze? Cyan couldn't believe that the human, much larger than him, appeared afraid that he was calling her out, then had tried to change the subject. His moment of pride, However, was over once Alistair described the situation. Cyan ran up to Naka, addressing Suze on the way, "It's time to make a choice," he said quietly, only half sure of what he meant by it.

"Naka," he said, getting the black-and-white haired teenager's attention, "I want to help here, and I think I know how I can! I can copy powers, right? Could you use that electricity thing? I think I need to see you use a power to copy it" Cyan was excited. This was the most eventful day he had ever had so far, and even though he knew they were possibly in danger, he couldn't help but feel that thrill that comes with adventure. He could actually make a difference in some life other than his own!

Sorcha immediately turned around to follow Suze. She wondered why the little she demon took tale and ran. She would have bet that Suze would have thrived off of an argument. But any further pondering of Suze's motives and intentions were forgotten as she heard the new guy's words. She had no idea who he was, but apparently Naka did.

She stood there trying to get her facts straight. So her high school, was being attacked? This guy/kid wanted them to prepare an army and in a hurry? Well, if what he said was true, she was definitely in. She was a little worried that she hadn't had a chance to test her new sword yet, but the one time she did use it, it seemed helpful.

Cyan ran up and started talking to Naka excitedly asking about copying powers. She didn't really pay attention at that moment. She probably should, there was something she was going to regret not hearing no doubt. However, she would do her best to focus on the conversation. If there was indeed a battle looming she needed to start the process of being emotionally ready. Her powers simply didn't work any other way than that and she wished they did. Oh boy, how she envied those whose powers weren't so messy.

Forgotten was Suze and the mental blast, and she mentally turned herself inward little by little so that she could find her center and brought forth her emotions to her conscience so that she could draw on any of them at a moments notice. Then she finally opened her eyes and looked at the group assembled and thought , bring it on.

————————————————

Suze yawned to show her thoughts at Cyan's little aside as he ran by her. Choose? Choose what? What the hell was the little groundhog talking about now? She was actually a little giddy because her ruse worked and everyone had seemed to forgotten about her.

She paid close attention to what was being said. Hmm, she thought, and attack on the school? Well, this could be fun. She really didn't like the place, it was boring and she could use some excitement. She got closer and tried to read the thoughts swirling around. It was ironic but she couldn't seem to hear anybody's now. That was weird, before, she could hear everybody's but Naka's.

Immediately was a spurt of panic. That was one of her powers she used the most and enjoyed the greatest. She quite often relied on that to do the most basic of things simply because it had always kept her out of trouble. She needed to figure out really quick what the hell was going on. Her best option at this point was to sit quietly on the sidelines and see what was going on before she made any moves.
