Micha didn't pick up on Tril looking away. He assumed she noticed something in the crowd. There was a lot to notice, and Micha tried very hard to keep his eyes firmly on the lizard.

"Wha? I saw labels on some. I wasn't really looking at the meat options though. I wanted to try out some of the desserts... N-Not because I have a sweet tooth or anything. I just wanted to try free dessert from other cultures." His body tensed as he tried to not cringe. He really didn't have a sweet tooth, yet his insistence on that made him sound like a liar.

"Anyway... you're right. I have to pick someone and talk. But maybe not people who are kissing and dancing."

Madeline arrived at the dance with her boyfriend before anyone noticed. But they were invisible, and they were trying not to be noticed until just the right moment.

That moment came during a lull between songs. There was a flash of white and purple light, accompanied by a pop - and now there appeared to be a giant lilac in an otherwise empty part of the ballroom. The petals unfurled and opened up, revealing Madeline and Shir in the center of it. They walked out, brightly lit. Madeline waved at the crowd and grinned.

Maddie was wearing a much nicer dress than someone of her means should have been able to get a hold of. She had her ways, though, now more than ever before. It didn't have a floral pattern, but its overall shape was flower-inspired, and it was white with purple highlights. Someone could have mistaken her as some kind of spirit of the season, gracing this event with her presence and giving it her blessing.

She took a moment to snap her fingers, and the giant flower disintegrated into a pile of illusory sparkles that rearranged themselves into the words:

Let's Party!

before fading away, just in time for the next song to start picking up.

Maddie turned to Shir. "Let's kill it." She was half-dancing, half dragging Shir deeper into the dance floor.

Aedes eyed the two lovebirds with visible disgust. Sure Orsick was decently dressed but she couldn't fathom how Andrasta was going all la la for him. She should probably find a way to escape before they start making out or something.

"Uh huh... a couple of lovestruck redheads it seems. Yuck! I think I will just leave you two to be all lovey dovey before you guys start to make me hurl with your hopeless romanticism." Aedes turns her attention back to Hugo "Alright well I guess that is enough banter... are you going to show me those killer dance moves that you keep bragging to me about? Pretty much the one reason why I came this whole thing in the first place after all."

Tril snickered and nodded at the sheepish awkwardness of Micha. He reminded them a little of Katie. Except she wasn't shy about jumping right into things. "Yes, don't go jump in with the kissing ones. They get angry if you interrupt them." Something apparently learned from experience.

But suddenly there was a flash of light and a pop and Tril backed against the wall, raising their claws and hissing. "...Oh. It's just Maddie. She likes the tricks almost as much as me."

"Have a fun night you two," Hugo said as he led Aedes off to the dance floor. She said all of that stuff, but he had a feeling she was just a little jealous of them. He wouldn't comment on that though. He gave her a look when his dance moves were brought up.

"See you're actually mistaken. I already showed you my moves. " he gestured to the people on the dance floor having a good time. "I showed you my moves at the center, it's your turn."

Orsick grinned at Aedes and her date waving as they went on their way. She'd definitely changed a lot over the past couple months. Still had that similar demeanor but it was somehow softened. Orsick turned his attention back to Andrasta, giving her hand a little squeeze.

"I can't really take credit for this one. For all the formal wear I have I had nothing lilac themed. So, I had a bit of help," he was looking around. He saw a lot of people he knew, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. "Gotta say, this really has turned out to be a kickass dance. Everyone's having a lot of fun."

It was the typical routine for Maddie and Shir. When dating an envy demon who happens to be an illusionist, you had to be supportive of their need to lightly shit disturb. His girlfriend was powered by people being salty, and salty at her. He was smirking when it was finally showtime.

Shir was wearing a simple but decently nice suit to compliment his girlfriend's outfit. His hair was more tame than usual. He even tied a lilac decoration to his tail for this. It was simpler than her dress, but that was just their dynamic. Even their powers had that dynamic.

"Time to put these nerds to shame," he grinned. He figured they'd stroll around a little and see who all was there. "Tear up the dance floor..."

All that snickering made Micha feel like he was the butt of some joke he didn't understand, yet he still awkwardly chuckled along so he didn't seem too out of the loop.

As he opened his mouth to respond, a flash of light brought his attention to a giant lilac revealing a girl and boy. Up until then, he had managed to keep his eyes firmly on Tril, only occasionally looking at passersby. Now his eyes were registering information from dozens of sources. He stumbled back into the wall to prevent his fall, then shut his eyes closed.

"Sorry... Sorry about that." With still closed eyes, he rebalanced himself "I think I've seen her around. Her tricks look pretty impressive. Yours must be amazing. If you like them more, I mean. I used to play some tricks when I was younger, but I stopped since I was being mean."

She'd let Katie dragon her onto the dance floor, raising an eyebrow as the other girl started to dance. After watching a moment she'd try to join in, doing her best to match her movements with hers.

"So.....just move around like this?" she'd ask, squinting a bit as she focused on t hff e dancing. "That's all it is," she was doing her best, but she had no experience, and so was just doing ok at it.

"Why do people do this?" she'd ask, still mentally trying to figure out the point of it. @Big Jeffe

Katie grinned widely as Vespa danced with her, it was everything she could have hoped for, even if Vespa wasn't the greatest dancer in the world.

"Because it's fun!" Katie said, taking the chance to do a little spin towards Vespa. She was slowly trying to introduce more complex moves. "You're doing great!" she said in an attempt to reassure any doubts Vespa may have been having.

"H-hey! I was going to eat that!" pouted Amber as Nathan took a stuffed mushroom. In truth she didn't really all that care, just having a little fun was all. "Heh but yeah, I don't really remember what was the last dance I went to. Mostly because I didn't have someone like you to take with me."

Amber nibbled on her food as Nathan collect a plate of food for himself. She was midway through a kabob when he returned.

"Awww... you are welcome~ I glad to have you here too." Amber nudges close to Nathan, her purring like cat as she finishes up her food.

Aedes gave Hugo a glare and crosses her arms. She looks around at all of the other people dancing before her gaze returns back to him.

"Oh that is how its going to be huh?" snootily barked Aedes, before she gives s resigned sigh and starts stretching "Alright fine... fine. Time for me to show off then."

Aedes limbered up, tapping her foot at rhythm of the beating music as they waited for her her moment. As the music started to pick up she started to get more into it, swaying those hips and waving those arms. As her dance progress movements seems more relax and her style more saucy. A bit of her cheerleading routine crept into her dance maneuvers as she finish off with backward's cartwheel (her heel barely missing the back of another dancer's head) with a little "ta-da" thrown at the end.

Recatching her breath, she saunters back over to Hugo with hands resting on swooning hips. Now standing in front of her "date", she leans her head forward, nearly nose to nose to Hugo, as she bares a wide grin. To her this was no longer just a dance: this was a competition.

"Your move!"

As Micha kept his eyes closed Tril again changed forms. Now shrinking to take on the face of a younger girl with long black hair, a lacy black dress and purple scales. Also pressing themself against the wall. It felt like the walls were closing in and it was getting harder to keep up the vaguely cheerful chatter.

"My tricks are better because mine aren't illusions. My faces are real. but I am not a nice person so I can get away with more tricks than you can." There wasn't any snickering that time.
