"A-ah... maybe?~" The answer was yes. There were a couple times where she practiced in her room when she was alone. Of course Amber was no expert and was just trying to go with the flow and mimic whatever everyone was doing. Plus dancing was tricky when you have to keep track of eight feet.

"But... uhhh... I'm not really doing anything special. Just moving the arms and the hips you know? That and I am pretending that its just you and me all alone." When Amber said that her dancing slowed as she looked over her shoulder, suddenly feeling self-conscious of herself of what everyone else is thinking.

Katie giggled a bit as Vespa tried to catch her. She hadn't been expecting it, but took the opportunity to pull Vespa into a hug.

"Hmm, well if you want to stop dancing we could go socialize?" Katie offered, scanning the crowd for anyone she or Vespa might know. While looking, she also spotted the snack table, which was obviously filled with food, and Katie suspected that there was probably some candy hidden somewhere over there. "Or we could go get snacks!" Katie offered with a grin, not caring what they chose to do

"You've got some moves, I gotta say I'm impressed," yes Hugo was actually concerned Aedes couldn't dance and was embarrassed by that fact. Being a cheerleader did seem to work wonders with that though. The prize for this contest was a surprisingly decent one. He was even more motivated to win now. Did Aedes actually know what she was getting into?

He was up now. Without missing a beat, he was back at it, building on what he'd established as his style before, and incorporating small bits of Aedes own dance into it. Some fairly sick dance moves for sure. He made fairly fluid moments, and pointed to Aedes, passing it back to her with a wink. "Showtime, Blood Queen"

"I hope she's not here to chaperone us..." Alain joked as he eased into the dance with Lyn. They'd done this so many times by this point. Adelyn was a reliable partner all around. The dance was a good way to kick off the new season, despite all of the news about what was happening at sea.

"I literally can't even imagine Storm in anything but workout clothes... or a dress. We should really drag her shopping for other clothes," he smiled. "But for now, let's just have fun. I'm not getting outdone by Zoe and Vega."

"Right! That's the spirit! Just enough to make you feel fancy but not enough to get in the way of movin'," Myca chirped back at Jessica with a big cheerful smile. Then flitted up to land on her shoulder so she could see the pair she was mentioning.

"Aww, they look so adorable together," she said as she put her hands up to her cheeks and rotated side to side slightly. "It really would be a shame to break that cute scene up. Actually there's a whole bunch of cute couple here...," She gasps and covers her mouth. "I even see Hugo and his date! Ohhh this is so exciting."

It took a moment for her to focus enough to really take in the final bits Jessica had added on. "Steal a ... oh, I get it. Don't let me distract you from finding all the beautiful girls to dance with. I'll probably stay here- the crush risk is high in here!"

Violet was watching from the ceiling as a bird, perched on a light fixture.

Officially, she was here to keep an eye on the kiddos and stop them from getting into too much trouble. But in truth, she was mostly here to keep an eye on Amber and her boyfriend Nathan. Even after all the investigation she did into this twerp as Chloe, she still got worried about Nathan. Given the things she knew about his family, the things they had no doubt put in his head...

It seemed unlikely that those ideas would survive in him, but it wasn't a zero percent chance. That point-oh-one of a percent gave her nightmares on occasion. Sometimes she just -

Oh. Hold on. There was a heated argument going on in that corner, and it was getting more heated. It was time to swoop in and de-escalate. Violet flapped her way down from her perch, shifting into a well dressed-up form as she landed on the ballroom floor. "Is everything alright over here?"

. . .

With that crisis averted, Violet went right back to it. Back up to her perch, trying to find Amber and Nathan again in the crowd.

Nathan would take her hand, lacing his fingers with hers. "You're doing amazing," he'd say, giving her a comforting smile. "Its just you and me hon, don't mind them, you're twice the dancer they are."

The vampire would lead her into a slower dance, the comforting smile never fading. "If anything I was a little worried I wouldn't be good enough to keep up with you," he'd say with a small chuckle.

"If I'm not painting then I....well usually feel a little awkward," he was enjoying the dance, enjoying being with her. @Amber

There was slow dance music playing. It was time for Andrasta's evil plan to get set in motion.

Except... well, it was one thing to talk and joke around about having a slow dance battle, or slow krump, to a slow song. It was another thing entirely to actually commit to that gag.

She looked Orsick in the eyes and shifted a little. Smiling, nervous. "Do you still want to try krumping to this?"

If they weren't feeling it, or if it fizzled out, they could always just slow dance like normal people.

"If... you don't want your face on someone else then don't open your eyes," Tril whispered from beside Micha- against the wall. "Kidding. But I could steal your face if I wanted to. The many eyes is special."

They paused and winced as some angel or other holy person must have entered the dance somewhere on the other side of the room. "People don't make sense. They like to make up rules and pretend they are better because they made the rules here. Maybe if there were more people like us..."

She'd blink in surprise at being hugged, but allowed it. "I...I don't know how to socialize....and I can only eat bones," she'd say with a shrug.

"We can keep dancing," she'd resume dancing, though kept her arms around the other girl, as she saw a few other people doing that.

"Is it normal for people to dance like this?", she'd ask.
