Open The First Lilac Ball

He'd blush a bit at the compliment. "Hmm....maybe I'll see about buying the suit then," he'd say with a grin. "I rented it for tonight, but I know there's a buying option," he wasn't sure if he had the money, but maybe he could set up a payment plan.

"Yeah...but first...," leaning in, he'd kiss her, taking her hand as the kiss ended. "Now let's head in," with that he'd enter the ballroom, glancing around curiously.

"So, want some punch first? Or we could go right to dancing?" He'd give her hand a gentle squeeze.

Hugo had just spotted Aedes as he received her text telling him where she was. He was pretty good at moving through crowds as he made his way over to her. He simply replied with a thumbs up emoji as he stepped over to his date.

He was decked out as well as he could be for a high school student with limited funds and no familial support. He opted for a simple three piece suit. Black went with everything anyway. Definitely complimented the absolute vampire queen standing before him. He was acting cool for the most part.

"You... wow. You look totally amazing, Aedes," he said to her. Then without missing a beat, out of nowhere he seemed to produce a small transparent box with a lilac corsage for her wrist. Just like he rehearsed. He couldn't take his eyes off her. "Let's make it a night to remember yeah?"

Iggy had probably arrived a bit late to the ball. Between himself and Cooper, they'd lost the tie he was going to wear to the dance. Of course it was in the most obvious place it could be when he finally found it. While he didn't mind having a dance with someone, he was searching the crowd for Alma or maybe Angelo had shown up.

Alma wasn't too hard to spot, in the crowd. Having a tall girlfriend did have its perks. Really, there weren't any disadvantages he could think of off hand. He was making his way over to her with a slowly growing grin on his face.

"Fancy meeting you here," he greeted once he made it over to her.

Lyn's birthday was only about a week before the dance. This dance was just a perfect little bonus extension to that. It definitely saved some planning for him. Adelyn loved dances, this was a fact. It was a law of nature that if you happened to be close to her the excitement would infect you as well. Alain was definitely feeling it now.

"Man, for something I'm pretty sure they only just put together, they really decked it out nice," he commented as he took the scene in.

The overall mood and atmosphere in the ballroom was nice. For Alain's part he'd shed that too cool for these things phase in middle school. He was ready to have fun, and kill it on the dance floor with Lyn. "Look at us, we're like the best looking couple here."

Katie smiled as she spotted Vespa. "Vespa! You actually came!" She said before looking the other girl up and down. "Are.. Are you wearing the dress I recommended? It looks good on you." She asked, it definitely looked like the dress Katie had asked her to wear, but she hadn't expected Vespa to actually wear it.

"Well, it is a dance." Katie said with a grin, before grabbing Vespas hand. "So whaddya say? Frist dance?"

"Uh....thanks," she'd glance down at the dress she was wearing. "I feel a little weird wearing it, but you thought it'd be nice," she'd say with a shrug.

She'd blink at her when she grabbed her hand, looking over at the entrance. "Yeah, let's head in," she'd follow her in, glancing around at the ballroom.

"So...I don't actually know how to dance," she'd say, squinting at a few of the dancing people. @Big Jeffe

If it wasn't so short notice he probably could have done a little more about his outfit. But there was another dance coming in the fall. He was already setting aside money to be much more impressive there. He was still looking cheerful and energetic though. Still there was absolutely no denying Aedes colors were definitely shades of red. He halfway wondered if it was because she was a vampire, or pure coincidence.

"You're a real tough customer, you know that?" he snorted offering an arm for her to take. "But I must be doing something right if I managed to get you to be my date. So you wanna walk around, or dance or what?"

He'd accept the punch, taking a sip from it, his free arm gently wrapping around her shoulders. "Yeah, they did a really great job," he'd say with a small grin, quickly stealing one of the stuffed mushrooms and eating it.

"Can't remember the last time I went to something like this," he'd say, glancing over everything as he made a plate of snacks.

Taking another sip of his punch he'd eat a bit from his plate. "Thanks for coming with me," he'd tell her with a smile. @Pallas

Katie

Katie led Vespa into the ballroom, where the dance looked like it was already in full swing. It was everything Katie expected, and then some.

"It's really easy, just follow my lead." Katie said as she led Vespa to one of the open spots on the dance floor. She wasn't really sure how to start, so she just started trying to mimic the movements of the people around her, guiding Vespas movements with her own.

As she kept dancing, she became more comfortable, and began to mix in things like spins, while still trying to keep it simple enough for Vespa to follow.
