Alma's ears twitched when she heard a familiar voice, rotating her head until her eyes locked on Jazz and Maddie. Giving the two of them an enthusiastic wave and a fanged grin, she leaned down a bit to be closer to eye level with them. She pushed down the slight disappointment that she had already run into, and by extension was probably going to be hovered around by people she already knew the whole night.

"Hey girls! Didn't know I'd see you. I just got here though, so I haven't really gotten a chance to dance or anything yet. Just getting a feel for the place, you know? Good to see you both though."

“Theeeeere we go!” Evie laughed, slapping the tabletop in encouragement as Seyyal downed her shot. “Nice to know you aren’t too much of a beginner. I might not be able to see you use what you have if I drink you under the table too fast.”

Oh yeah, Evie wasn’t gonna let that one pass by. She wiggled her eyebrows at her again before throwing her own shot back, not struggling with the taste all at compared to Seyyal. She gestured to the bartender to keep the shots coming, before looking over to Sage.

“Oh come on, don’t be a buzzkill. There’s no point in coming to a party if you’re just gonna stand around all paranoid like that.” She was all cheeky smiles as she pushed the remaining shot glass close to her. It was pretty obvious the alcohol was starting to get to her by now, face flushing as her head swayed a little to the music around them. “Give it a try! A couple of shots aren’t gonna kill ya.”

All of what they said was true. The pressures of highschool tended to keep friends away from each other with just how much they had to do. But, that was the past now, or at least a painful fact that was going to be put on hold.

”Hell yeah!” Cyril said as he clinked the lip of the plastic cup against theirs, Lyric following suit. Without hesitation, Cyril downed the rest of his drink. Lyric held onto his cup, deciding to take it slower. Not like it mattered anyway, because if Cyril was drunk, he’d quickly follow suit.

”Do you guys dance? C’mon, let’s go to the living room. That’s where everyone’s hanging right now.” Cyril gestured them to follow, being a bit more brazen than normal as he was already feeling a bit buzzed. Lyric clutched onto his shoulder and his drink in the other hand as Cyril tried to scope out people to expand their part posse.

Naturally, his eyes followed the tallest person he could find. He slid himself with ease into the group of young girls standing around each other.

”Shiiiiit, you are tall!” Cyril said as he looked up to Alma, laughing a bit. ”Mind if we slide in? I’m Cyril, Lyric.” He said, gesturing to his conjoined brother. “Oh, this is Belthane and Azucena, if you guys don’t know each other.”

Seyyal nodded knowingly at Sage's hesitation to drink. But she wasnt reckless either. It was just one drink. Or a couple. "You dont have to drink of you dont want to Sage, but I am pretty sure she's mostly right. One drink wont kill you," she comforted, though she was starting to stand differently. Usually she was fairly straight in form and prepared to react as needed but she was definitely starting to slouch a little and loosen up.

She shook her head at Evie persisting with the joke she'd tried to cut off at the pass but decided mentioning it would only fuel the fire, so to speak. But she wasnt sure trying to keep up with Evie's drinking was a great idea. Seyyal reluctantly took a second shot but held off on any more for the moment. "Soo, tell me. What else do you do at parties here other than try to get me and my friends wasted?" She asked Evie. The apparent Earth party expert.

The ends of Sage's lips turned downwards when Evie called her a buzzkill. She wasn't a buzzkill. She was cautious. She was, at worst, a worrywart. A common term she was teased with that increasingly bothered her, but she refused to let her friends know that it did.

Not wanting to further live up to that word and ruin the enjoyment of her friend, she took a shot glass and downed it. Having little experience, the taste caused her to wrinkle her nose and put down her glass suddenly. Okay, she was done for the night.

"Looks like you're right. I'm not dead. And I'm not a buzzkill. I wouldn't let myself get to that part anyways. The healer's health should always be the highest priority." Part of that was an excuse to wiggle out of being pressured into any more drinks.

But Sage didn't need to. Seyyal did the wiggling for her. "I saw some people kissing and feeling each other up earlier. Are we supposed to do that next?"

Alma's ears twitched at the comment about her height. She was used to it, so she always unconsciously keyed in on those. Turning her goat-like eyes to the source, she recognized Cyril and Lyric as the ones who had put this party together in the first place. Giving them a small fanged smile, and a nod to the girls with them, she cleared her throat. "Yeah, hey. I guess I am pretty tall huh? Ah, nice to meet you two," she added in reference to Belthane and Azucena.

"I'm Alma. The party's nice. I mean, I guess. My only experience with parties like this is movies." A kind of nervous laugh, trying to focus on the static in her head. She didn't need to let her insecurities fester now. "I'm kind of a nerd, y'know?"

Following behind the twins, Bel and Azu politely excused themselves and slid in to dance beside them, well, Azu did anyways. She was unused to big parties and was still feeling a little bit out of place, despite Bel and the twin's presence.

"Cyril!" Azucena gasped, slightly mortified that he had commented on Alma's height. She didn't really know the girl all that well, but as probably one of the few non-magical people at the party, she knew what it was like to stick out, or not quite fit in.

Not having caught Cyril's badly timed comment, Bel just eyed Azucena strangely for a moment before she then greeted Alma.

"Call me Bel," she said with a friendly smile. "And no worries, you are not the only one. It's Azu's first time too, and I have only been to two other parties like this one," she told her.

Hearing her name mentioned, Azu turned her attention away from Cyril for a moment and nodded when she realised what Bel was talking about. "Yes... I've never been to a party like this before... and I'm sort of a nerd also," she confessed, glad that somebody else was not as experienced as Bel or the twins obviously were with social get-togethers like tonight.

Madeline bumped into Jazz, giving her a meaningful look, with a big smile on her face. "What a coincidence, my friend Jazz is kind of a nerd too!" She laughed. "And I'm Madeline. Jazz and I were just gonna go find a place to dance. You nerds can come join us if you want."

She took another sip of the bright green drink in her plastic cup, and it seemed to make her eyes flash.

"I'll be like a nerd herder. With a herd of nerds." The idea seemed to tickle her. Or maybe it was just the wordplay. She thought it was pretty clever considering the amount of alcohol she was operating with.

Since they bumped into Alma, Jazz had largely been quiet, smiling and waving to her friend. She was familiar enough with Alma to have a conversation, of course, but the sheer claustrophobia of the place was starting to get to her. She nodded along with Maddie's introduction to those she didn't know, taking a small sip of her drink. "Um, h-hey. I'm Jazz, and...yeah. Right, uh, dancing."

The bear girl's brow furrowed unconsciously, gripping her cup just a smidge tighter, and looking up to make eye contact with Maddie along with giving her a small nudge. "I, actually, mm...maybe we could find a little less crowded of a spot to dance, or. Something." She cleared her throat and promptly started focusing her attention on her left shoe, fingers rhythmically tapping the side of her cup. "Not that I don't want to dance with any of you, just...uh.."

Evie, as the designated party sherpa, whooped as Sage finally went along with it and had a drink. She didn’t really care if they kept going after that, it’d be a bit boring if they didn’t -she was curious to see what could happen when these two responsible seeming people got shitfaced- but she didn’t plan on holding off just because they were. She knocked back another shot before grinning wide at them.

“Jeeeeeeeeez you guys. I didn’t think I was gonna have to hold your hands the entire time.” She laughed, face starting to redden, getting even more giggling as the alcohol started working through her system. “You have to have seen at least some parties wherever you were from. I’ve seen Lord of the Rings, I know they exist in places like that.”

Evie threw her hands wide as if to gesture to all the party around them.

“Just do whatever seems fun! Chug more drinks! Go dance! Make out with someone hot! Play beer pong! There’s probably someone doing that around here somewhere…”

She got distracted halfway through her mini-speech, glancing around to see if anyone actually was playing beer pong, but quickly remembered she was in the middle of something.

“If you’re just gonna play it safe the whole time then that defeats the whole point! Just forget about whatever you’re worried about for a night!”

After that, she gave them both a suggestive look again, adjusting her gravity so that she began to float. Her legs lifted off the ground, raising up until she was lying horizontally in mid-air. She propped her head with her hand as if she were laying down seductively.

“Buuuuuut, Sage’s idea isn’t a bad place to start~.”

She wiggled her eyebrows again. The pose combined with the floating and drunken, sloppy words and movements left her looking overall cartoonish.
