"Well..okay. I guess you're right. Just don't try and do everything alone. Sure, it may seem like you can go through life alone perfectly fine. And maybe you can. But is that really the best option? Is Berserker really all you need as a friend? Why not have more..?"

"Because Berserker and me are fine! And I don't need to let someone hurt me! So don't push it or I'll flick apple sauce at you!" She warned because he was getting pushy by asking questions he knew she didn't want to answer. She continued to eat her food, she took a lot longer to eat than he did. He practically swollowed it compared to how long she took to just eat one bite.

"Flick apple sauce at me, huh? That wouldn't be very fair, I have no ammunition like you do! I ate it all.."

She smirked, "So? You ate it not me." She said putting apple sauce on her spoon pulling it back jokingly like she was going to really flick it at him. She suddenly felt a pain in her leg, she almost had it flick at him. She winced from the pain, she hated the fact that her broken leg would take a long time to heal. But she'd be in the hospital until it was set enough that it would heal properly. She sighed looking back to her plate she picked at the food on it.

"Hey... I actually got you to smile. I can't recall you doing that before. Well I guess it wasn't a full smile.. but still. You should do it more often. It's kinda cute, ya know?" He stretched out his arms and yawned. Was Corona still sleeping? He was getting a bit uncomfortable without him. He had gotten so used to that voice being there, after all.

She frowned, "I am not cute! If you ever call me that again I'll not only flick apple sauce at you I'll stick a fork in you!" She said annoyed, she hated being called cute. Her 'nanny' called her that many times before beating her, she hated things that reminded her of everything that happened. She was prepared to hurt the boy if he even tried something.

"Where I come from, 'cute' is a compliment. Where I come from, people usually say 'thank you' after being complimented.. but hey! Whatever." He shrugged. He figured there was some reason why she didn't like being called cute so much. He thought maybe she liked being the evil type, but then why did she look that way? He wished she were a few years older, and fantasized about how attractive she would be if she were. He figured if she really hated the cute thing, she would do more to deter herself from looking like that.

"Where I come from, 'cute' is a compliment. Where I come from, people usually say 'thank you' after being complimented.. but hey! Whatever."

Her mind flashed back to a scene in her mind, she had thought her 'nanny' was a friend. She remembered her nanny placing a warm hand on her pale cheek and saying. "Your a cute one Maura, it's a shame no one will love you. It's a shame your face is going to be tear stained the rest of your life." A punch landed hard into the girl's stomach, she whimpered. Confusion and denile in her eyes, she wanted it to stop. She was beat to a pulp the only place not beaten was her face. She wore long covering clothing to hide the bruises, she couldn't protect herself and her grandfather didn't care.

She remembered when she was within a inch of her death and screaming for help and Berserker emerged. And with one swift move her attacker was dead, she remembered staring at the corpse and remembering how good it felt to be rid of her tormentor.

The girl's mind flashed back into present not saying anything to the boy and not wanting to.

Paul's eyes suddenly filled with shock. He clenched his chest and he fell out of the chair, his plate falling and shattering on the ground. it only lasted a few seconds, but it felt and looked like he was having some sort of heart attack. Then as quickly as it came, all the pain vanished, and he was fine. It was, however, enough to wake Corona.

Are you alright!?
No...! What.. was that?
It must've been an empathy attack. I'm going to have to teach you how to keep that under control.
A what attack? It felt like a heart attack.
No no.. remember the talk we had the other day? As time goes on, you'll eventually be able to sense how others feel, whether or not they make it obvious. Maura must've just been thinking about something incredibly traumatic in her life. And because of your great concern for her, that feeling was transmitted to you, and your great amount of empathy manifested in physical pain.

Seemed to make sense... I guess. Paul stood up, his breathing heavy.

Maura looked up after thinking about her past to see him shatter a plate. He didn't look too good, she looked at him concerned. She had seen her Grandfather die with the same kind of way. She went to move to his side to help but she forgot about her leg. Instantly pain shot in tremors up her leg, blood began to cover the bandage again. She sat back down, she whimpered. She couldn't cry since the day her 'nanny' beat her. The doctors just said she was defected like a broken part, useless, and alone.

Her breathing was raggid, she whimpered as pain coursed through her body.

He was perfectly fine now, as if it never happened. Corona further explained that no matter how much pain he felt from something like that, the pain itself never posed any sort of danger to his life. The only way such a thing could kill him would be the result of him falling over like he just did.

Paul did, however, notice that Maura tried to see if he was okay. Maybe she cared about him slightly more than he thought she did. Either way, her wound re-opened, and he made that his top priority. "Woah.. are you alright? Maybe I should go get a nurse.." He walked towards the door and opened it, looking for a nurse to come check her leg.
