Spotlight Member: Kaya

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Kaya's been around for aaaaaaages, so I'm surprised to find they've never won the member spotlight! They're active, they post a ton, and they're always quick to jump in and help new members.

Spotlight Character: Isra Felle Gold

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: I am going to show my bias but oh my god his interaction with Luco is just adorable. It's always great seeing people falling into things that we don't see much of, but librarian + substitute teacher + religious = a lot of things you don't see many of.

Spotlight Plot: Starlight Academia Study Association!

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar: Aswan has put together a new club, focusing on academics rather than extra-curriculars. It's got a wide variety of participants hopping in, and it's splitting off into little clusters, serving as a way for characters to meet each other.

Link any relevant threads (especially recent ones): Naoko + Devias, Aswan + Raphael + Roland

Why you think it deserves the spotlight: It's a neat idea! Clubs almost never focus on the more academic side of things (nor do most RPs), so it's great to see something focusing on them taking people's focus.

Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
Gonna roll with the previous nomination on this because despite my spotty activity, it feels like Kaya is always online talking to people in the cbox - general, plotting, or roleplay.

Spotlight Character: Cairo Lou Kaiylla

Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
I'm also going to show a little bias here, you're not alone Romi. I've been arranging some plots with Claire, and have a thread going with this particular character - and I just can't help but feel... amazed?? Entertained? With Cairo as a character. Through some of our discussions, reading through the profile, and lowkey lurking in some of the old plots he's been in, I'm entertained with how complex the character can be and the grace he carries himself with - especially with some of the changes I know Cairo has been involved in and the character growth.

Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
They're friendly. They're welcoming in icc and the cbox. The have some well-written and interesting characters too.

Spotlight Character: Schrödinger Lovegrimm

Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
The character has an interesting premise. And their interactions in the missing person event are cute. I'm curious to see more of this kid eldritch.

Spotlight Plot:
Monster Squad

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar:
a developing friendship between a group of preteen "monsters"

Link any relevant threads (especially recent ones):

Monster squad hits the pool

Why you think it deserves the spotlight:

It's a nice feel-good plot. It's good to see the younger residents of MC just getting together and having fun.

Spotlight Character:
Phoenix Jamston

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: My short answer is that this guy is hilarious. I've gone and looked at a few threads and the first thing I can say about it is that, Nix is a really fun guy OOC. I can't say that for IC interactions unless your character is the type who'd get along well with his sort though, y'know. Reading Nix's train of thought through Ashes' narrative highlights his personality for me which makes threads with this guy a fun read!

Spotlight Plot:
Independence [ unless i come up with a witty plot title /snorts ]

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar:
Chloe Black slowly realizes that she's doesn't want to do the things he wants her to in life and so begins Chloe's adventures of plotting to make her dad Gabriel Baltimore fuck off

Link any relevant threads (especially recent ones):
most recent to least i didn't stalk these threads just now nope
Ultimatum ongoing ; w Arach
Is my mom not good enough? ; w/ Amber
New Chapters in Our Lives finished ; w/ Malara
Make Me Yours w/ Pandora

Why you think it deserves the spotlight:
Honestly this is my character bias talking; I'm not even sorry. I wouldn't know if I could say this was a sudden turn of events to resolve a sudden absence of a character or something Kait's been cooking for a while but I really think this is a pretty well-spun plot that involves in more than a couple characters to make this plot come to life

Spotlight Member: @Fletcher
Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
This member has been on the site for a heck of a long time. It seems to me that whenever they come into the chat, the jokes and conversations that Fletcher shares with others is always interesting. I am very glad that they have chosen to stick around and wow everyone with what they can offer.

Spotlight Character: Inscius
Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
Inscius is one of the most interesting characters that I've seen in a long time. There is something about how @TORY handled them that perfectly showcases a beautiful character. Though they are still new to the site, Inscius is a really amazing god that I think should deserve some praise.

Spotlight Member: @Snake
Why you think they deserve the spotlight: First of all, holy crap. Snake is a wonderful presence in the Cbox - their enthusiasm, energy, and overall cUUUTE is comforting to talk to and they're really nice to boot ^-^ Secondly, after reading through a few threads, I have to say, they've got a good posting length - and the details of their posts are well-thought-out. Overall, they're an absolute pleasure to have and know on-site!

Spotlight Character: I SECOND SCHRODINGER LOVEGRIMM
Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Honestly, even though I only have one thread with the little eldritch, i have to say - the way Wit's End portrays him, with all the little tics and everything, even his thought process that, frankly, reads like something out of a good book - makes Schrodinger almost come to life right on the screen. Also, the concept of Schrodinger and his Boxes, plus his current involvement with Missing Persons, adds a whole new layer of complex to his character plus he's literally so cute omg

Spotlight Plot: i'll get to this later

Spotlight Member: @Lazzy
Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
Lazzy has been with us for two years, and he's a treasure. He has a colorful and well-executed cast of characters, he's contributed to some great plots in his time here, and he's an entertaining presence in our cboxes. I think he's long overdue for some love and recognition.

Spotlight Character: Cairo Lou Kaiylla - seconding
Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
I've nominated Cairo several months in a row in the past and I still think he deserves love. @Claire never stopped doing a great job playing the character. He is complex and believable and skillfully developed love him already reeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Spotlight Plot: Hazel Arlnest Saves the Day

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar: As part of the missing persons plot, the plucky witch Hazel Arlnest (played by @Prinny-Jt) is playing the hero and trying to figure out where people are disappearing to.

Link any relevant threads (especially recent ones):
Not the Clue you were Expecting
I Believe You Can Fly

Why you think it deserves the spotlight:
Although this plot is still early in its life cycle, Hazel's involvement in the site plot is going to recklessly advance the situation and damn the consequences - and I love seeing big plots get shaken up. As far as what we have up right now, it's already shaping up to be pretty exciting.
