Chloe had been stressed out of her mind for the last month.
At first, this wasn't anything to be worried about. She had signed up for some advanced classes in the spring, and she had finals coming up. There were big projects. People told her that she was probably in over her head with those upper-level dark magic classes. She would basically disappear for days at a time, telling people she was in the library for most of it. She barely seemed to have time for Amber. She seemed uncharacteristically disoriented at DSU meetings.
Finals ended, and Chloe only seemed to get worse. That was when it started to become really troubling. She asked some of the other DSU members to cover for her at meetings. She kept disappearing for days at a time, not even bothering to make excuses anymore.
When she came knocking on Pandora's door, she stared through bloodshot eyes in dark craters, tapping a restless foot. She wasn't dressed up at all. She had gained a little bit of weight. Not much - just a couple pounds - but it was enough to show. "I didn't feel safe calling ahead" were the first words out of her mouth when the door opened. She looked around behind her before continuing. "Sorry for barging in. I need to... uh, I need to talk to you. Is now a good time?"
