post-cure, pre-back to school

[Tom=http://i.imgur.com/jllNO3X.jpg, #ff9900]Dalia hated everything a out the month of March. Well, not everything. The virus had been awful, but she had enjoyed not having to go to classes and deal with Argenta's torment.

With the virus being cured and school starting back up soon, Dalia wanted to get one last hurrah with her friends before having to go back to being scared of her own shadow every day.

At Ravina's suggestion, they had decided to go to one of the public pools. The pools were indoor and heated, so there wasn't any problem with the weather. Normally Dalia wouldn't be able to swim in a pool, but this presented her the perfect opportunity to show off the thing she had saved up for.
A human shape charm from the Glamour Emporium.

Her friends were likely already at the pool when Dalia got dropped off by Saeta. She hoped she wasn't too late as she fussed with the little plastic bow on her hairband one last time.
Everything had to be perfect.

She stepped into the pool area, but wobbled.might have been a better way of putting it. Because where normally her torso expanded backwards into a spider's abdomen and legs, there were just a relatively normal pair of human legs in just Dalia's size and build.
Relatively normal, of course, because like the regular, non-armored arms she now sported, the skin on her legs was bright hot rod red.

She wore a blue one piece swimsuit, one that covered the large portion of her back that was the same bright red color. She only had one set of eyes, which surprisingly didn't make her vision falter.

She waved cheerily to all those present and gave a big smile, "Hey guys! Good to see you all."[/Tom]

The pool was not nearly as fun as the beach, was Ravina's thought on it. But it was better than nothing and relatively large. Ravina knew about pools, they'd had them on the island her, and her mam had spent many a Summer exploring.

She was one of the first to arrive, wearing a one piece pink swimsuit with cute white outline. Ravvy wasted no time getting into the water. The moment her body was submerged, her tail sprouted, replacing most of her human body.

Scales covered her chest and lower back, patches decorated her elbows, hands, and knees. Ravina's teeth were sharper and more predatory in her aquatic form, and her tail wasn't like a traditional mermaid, though it was close. A bright hot pink with splashes of orange and sharp fins.

When Dalia arrived, Ravina broke the surface of the water and greet her friend with her customary grin. "Da--" Her mouth fell agape. "You have legs!"

Ravina would have run to her right then if she trusted her ability to flop onto land enough to revert her change with ease. She did not.

A pool huh, Joe had only really swam once in a pool before and he could basically only tread water for a small mount of time. But his friends were going to be there and he would never pass up an opportunity to get out of that cooked up dorm room trying to figure his powers out. So he asked his mother if he could go get a swim suit and in classic Joseph fashion he came as early as he could manage.

He was the second one there right after the girl named Ravina. Joseph didn't know Ravina all that well they had only talked a bit at school before but she seemed nice and any friend of Dalia's was a friend of his. He say at the steps half submerged in the water sort of studying Ravina and watching how she swam with such ease. He even put his hand down to reach his note book but then he remember that he was at the pool and laughed at him self a little bit, he really needed a new hobby.

"Wow" he said looking on at Dalia with legs, she was extremely cute."Hey! .... I mean hey...... you finally got that leg bracelet thingy.... you always talk about... right?". It wasn't much of a big surprise to Joe because him and Dalia have talked about getting her human legs before. But he was happy to see her get what she wanted.

[Tom=http://i.imgur.com/jllNO3X.jpg, #ff9900]Dalia waved to Ravvy and Joe, grinning ear to ear. "Yup! I picked it up a few days ago. Been practicing with walking and stuff around the house."

She grinned and approached the pool, kind of wary of the water still. She knew she normally just couldn't swim at all, but like this should be fine, right?
Looking into the water, Dalia watched Ravvy go. She hadn't yet really seen her friend with her fins out, and it was quite the sight to behold. She looked practically predatory.

"You look amazing, Ravvy!" Not yet ready to just take the plunge, Dalia sat at the edge of the pool and dipped her feet into the water. She kicked her legs back and forth, smiling and looking around. It was interesting, the feeling of the water against skin she didn't normally have.
"You look great too, Joe. Glad you could make it out."[/Tom]

Iesha was exited... and a little nervous... but mostly excited! Dalia had invited her and a few of their friend go out swimming before classes resumed, an activity that she has been looking forward to ever since she and Miss Narraine went out to get their own bathing suits. Iesha may have lived most of her life in cave in the desert but she always had a love for being a water and was surprisingly a natural born swimmer too. After Narraine dropped her off at the pool and told her to have fun, Iesha slithered through the entrance and looked for her friends. As she peeked out from behind the wall, she failed to see anyone that she recognized... except for the Joseph!

"H-h-hi Joseph!" cried Iesha as she gave him small wave while behind the cover wall, obsuring her entire body save for her head and hands. "U-u-umm... w-w-where isss... w-where isss every elsse?"

Joe looked over to the voice calling out his name, it was none other then Iesha the Lamina and he smiled as he found how she always was funny, especially with her head poking out from the wall. Again he didn't really know her well other then she was usually a nervous and shy girl and this was amusing to Joe. From the way she talked to the way she acted it was all the more reason to be as friendly as he could with her. Joe pointed to Dalia and then Ravina in a sort of circular manner."Right there....... come on out the water is..... i don't really know what it is..... i guess ok" he snickered at his poor attempt to be funny or maybe it was something else Joe had no idea what he was trying to do there.

He turned his attention back to Dalia. "No problem buddy......... i mean i can't let all of you have all the fun..... can i?" he kicked his feet in the water as he spoke.

This was kind of new and sudden for Orsick. He'd barely been on the island a week and was already making a decent handful of friends. At least he hoped they were decent. Yeah, they were decent. Alex, the head of the house seemed keen on the idea when he brought it up at the manor. As did Titus, his legal guardian on the island. He entered the pool area a little bit after Iesha wearing a pair of black swim trunks that sported his family crest on them.

"Hello everyone," he bowed slightly as he joined the group. The pool had that gross chemical scent that his dragon form's senses hated. He'd just stick to his human form form now, unless he had to shift. "I guess we're saving the beach trip for the summer then huh?"

Ravina gave a squeal of surprise and enthusiasm, pulling herself up outside the water and shaking off her tail until legs regrew and she could stand to run to Dalia. She threw her arms around her friend and hugged her tightly, then stood back with her hands on Dalia's shoulders to inspect her new legs.

"Woooah...." She grinned after meeting Dalia's eyes. "I wish me legs kept me tail's color when I shifted." She released her friend and looked at Iesha and Orsick, two other kids she only just knew.

"Hiya guys," she gave a wave and was unable to help herself from giggling at Orsick's little bow. It was very formal!

"Yeah, the sea might be a lil' too choppsy for new swimmers."

Iesha turned her head int he direction Joseph pointed in. It was only now that she realized the blond haired girl was Dalia in... in human form? W-when did that happen she wondered. Was thought Dalia was unable to take on a human form so... it was really weird to see her with such features. Her arms and legs took on reddish coloration still just like in her more familar form but... seeing Dalia like this was almost too weird for her.

"D-d-dalia? Y-y-you look... di-different... ummm" Iesha couldn't help but grimace at Dalia's new form. She knew this was something she wanted for some time but... seeing her without her legs... without her abdomen... to Iesha it looked like the spider part of her was cut off. Dalia was one of the few people that seem to think of her as friend and... and she can't disappoint them so she forces a smile, which was only half convincing.

"B-b-but different is... is good... right? Y-yes... umm... different is nice! Y-your n-nice looking I mean... umm..." Iesha trailed after her blunder of compliment. Iesha would steal a glance at Ravina before looking back to Dalia as she turned the conversation onto her new swimsuit.

"U-ummm... d-do you like my... m-my ssswimming sssuit?" Iesha would then twist her body to everyone so that they could have a clear view of her new swim attire.

Iesha then spun in place as Orsick entered, a boy that she had only briefly meet a few times.

"O-o-oh...umm... h-h-hii..." mumbled Iesha as she looked nervously to Orsick, playing with her fingers as she faced the newcomer. Iesha then quickly added "N-nice to meet you and... and umm... m-meet you..."

Iesha just watched as Ravia gave Dalia a big hug... an action that Iesha found endearing.

Dalia almost recoiled from the hug, but threw her arms back around Ravina before letting the other girl inspect her. "Oh yeah. I mean, I'm making some gloves and stockings to cover up the red for when it wouldn't match my outfit. But it's not bad I guess."

She gave a small wave to Orsick and smiled at him. Looking around, Dalia felt pretty good about herself. Surrounded by friends and no Argenta in sight to bother them.

"Yeah. The pool is probably better for now. And I love your swimsuit, Iesha! It's really cute."
She beamed at the lamia girl. Iesha seemed not too excited, but that was probably normal for her since she was so shy anyway. "Glad you could make it. I hope the water isn't too cold."

Speaking of which, Dalia turned and looked at the pool itself. She had never swam before. She couldn't in her spider form and consequently didn't really know how.
But she had those water wing floaties on, and wasn't really afraid.

"So are we gonna get in, or just stand around?"
Not waiting for an answer, Dalia slid into the water, the sudden brief shock of cold disorienting her slightly. She resisted the urge to ignite her clothes for warmth, which wouldn't have worked anyway seeing as her own swimsuit was bought, not made.
