Claire seemed to be thinking about the question, so Savannah took the moment to open the drawer, look at the mysterious letter, and close it again. What was inside of it? She knew that their relationship was all over, ever since Mr. toll told her that James had a girlfriend. That was enough surprise, but what news could be in there? She half wanted to crumple it up, and burn it, but she also wanted to tear it open, and consume the news. Now was not the time for that thou. She was here with Claire, her friend, and they were catching up on things. It made Savannah feel safe.

"He's fifteen."

"Oh, that's good, he's only a year older than you are. It's always good to be close it age." She felt a little surge of adrenaline, the thought of the letter in the back of her mind. She wrinkled her nose, shooing the thought away. "That sounds great, I haven't met any guy special like that, but you know, I'm sure he'll come." How could she keep thinking about the letter? About.. him? Did she still have feelings for him? 'No, no I don't the past is in the past, and that's that!' But what if the letter contained important news like one of them was sick or died or something. He doesn't know my cell number or the school's number, it could be the only way to bring me news. She reached out slowly, and pulled the drawer open.

(OOC) I thought I could use the letter to cause some drama, so they don't have to talk about the same things. It's from her "ex-boyfriend's" father, with some heavy news.(No one died, don't worry!)

Claire smiled. "Yeah." She said quietly. She was okay with her decision, but it wasn't the best she had made. It felt all like a dream to her, everything that had happened so far. Like one day, she was just going to wake up in the forest, and she wouldn't remember any of this.

That thought scared her a bit, that was something that she didn't want. To lose her memory. She looked over at Savannah, she looked like she was in deep thought, or that something was troubling her. She put her sight on her drawer, and saw as she reached for the drawer. "I saw you looking at the note earlier." She paused. "Open it, I don't mind."

Savannah hoped that Claire didn't think she wasn't paying attention, because she was, but she was a little distracted. The letter had been sitting in there for two days, and Savannah had the self- control not to rip it open the moment she received it. Well, she told herself it was self-control, really it was anxiety and fear, that kept her from reading its contents. How could she fear yet want to read the letter? She exhaled through her mouth, forming her lips in a small "o".

"Open it, I don't mind."

Savannah looked up. She felt a little sheepish that Claire had noticed, but she nodded. "It's been in here for two days, and I haven't found the courage to open it." She reached in and picked up the letter. There was her name written in neat straight cursive hand writing. The return address written nicely as well. Her hands shook a little. She'd never felt this way about receiving letters from Mr. Toll before, that is until she found out James had a girlfriend. She turned it to the back and placed her finger under the slit. She closed her eyes, and pulled it forward, little by little. "I can't do it!" she said, jumping off the bed. The letter fell to the floor with a spin, landing at Claire's feet. Savannah placed her fist, which was in a ball, on her forehead and bent over. "Sorry Claire, I don't mean to freak you out. Could you open it the rest of the way for me, and take it out too?"

(OOC) When she opens it, a picture with a young man and woman sitting together should fall out.

Why was she so nervous? About a letter? She would never do something like that, though they were different people. She nodded to picked it up. What could be inside? Some confession? A sorry note? What come it be? She looked up at Savannah, she hoped for her sake, that it wasn't bad news.

Poor Savannah. She wasn't having the funnest of times, not like she wanted to. "Okay Savannah, I'm opening it." She slowly opened it, making sure that the envelope did rip. She slid something out of the envelope, though she wasn't sure if there was anything else in there. "It's a picture." She smiled a bit, not sure two the two people were. "Here." She expended her arm

Savannah was nervous, what was inside? She tried not to overreact, but it was hard. very hard. She heard the ripping sounds of the envelope, dreading what they might find inside.

"It's a picture....here."

A picture? Of what? Scotland? Sheep? James? She gently grabbed the picture and looked down at it. She gasped. The fancy words stood out on the border of the picture. "Save the date. James Earl Toll and Emily Ann Parker united in marriage on July 12th, 2014. Invitation to follow. She looked up at the picture. James and Emily sitting side by side under a tree in a park. There were even some sheep in the back round. Savannah laid it on her lap confused. Then it really hit her. She stood up abruptly, letting the picture slide to the floor once again. "What?" Her voice was shaky, full of shock and a hint of anger. She walked to the side of her bed. Of all the inconsiderate, mean things to do! She couldn't believe he would send her one of their "save the dates!" Why didn't he just write letter and say you can come if you want? And more importantly, why hadn't James sent it himself? She gripped the bed post. " That yellow- streaked wimpy coward!" She said out loud. She clapped one hand over her mouth. "I'm so sorry Claire, I wasn't expecting this to happen, but I guess we can continue talking if you want." She sat back on the bed eyes wide.

'Talking about what a jerkaholic James is! I wonder if he even had the courage to tell Emily about me.' She glanced angrily at the picture on the floor, wishing she could burn it up. She was perfect. Straight white smile, perfect brown shoulder-length curls. Medium-shade brown eyes, and flowing eyelashes. 'Guess he got tired of dating country girls, huh? People who actually know how to work, and do it hard and well!' She was so angry she wanted to kick the bed, but she sat there, letting her face heat up like a pot of boiling water about to explode. Calm Savannah calm. She went invisible for a second, so she could karate chop the air and bring back a normal facial expression. She turned visible again and breathed out. "You probably hate me now, don't you?" She asked Claire. She wanted to react, and she could, but it was best not to do it in front of some one else.

What? That Walsall she could think of. She hadn't seen the picture very well, before handing it to Savannah. Was her ex getting married? And was she invited? That was just messed up. At least someone had the balls to tell her. She put on an angry face. Why would he never dump her? Or did she dump him? It didn't seem like that.

Savannah was so sweet, and unique.anyone would be lucky to have her. Maybe this was the dudes way so saying sorry? Even though it would be the dumbest way to do it. "Maybe, he just wanted to say that he was alright?" She said, though it made no sense why he would do something like that. She picked up the picture and stared at it.

They were getting married! "I would punch his teeth in if he were here." She said that, even though she was better with a knife then she was with her fists. Savannah didn't deserve this. It should have been an apology letter or something. "It's fine Savannah, be as mad as you want, I would hate you." There was no reason to hate Savannah. She was too sweet.

Claire breathed in and out. She didn't even know this guy, and she already didn't like him. "Why the fuck would he invite you to his wedding? If that was that is." She still didn't know a lot about this type of living, being in the forest so long. She placed it down on the floor, almost exactly where it had been, and looked up. What was she supposed to say?

Savannah grabbed her hair and pulled it up, and let it fall. A habit of hers when she was angry or thinking. After all this time, the only things they'd ever bother to write were about James' romantic adventures, and now this? Claire didn't seem upset, as a matter of fact, she seemed to think it was a stupid thing too!

"I would punch his teeth in if he were here."

Savannah let out a small laugh. "Not unless I got to him first. I'm not saying that he can't have his share of romance, but we were serious about each other, to the point of making promises!" She sighed. Savannah was glad that Claire wasn't angry or judging her on her reactions. She just couldn't help it. "All they ever sent me letter wise was about James' romance! First letter, he met a sweet girl in a cafe, second, they are very serious, and went to the Moonlight Festival together, third, they went on some great adventure together! Why on earth would they send me this? Are they trying to make me miserable? Well, I'll just have to tell them it hasn't work. Even if I have to create a boyfriend for myself!" She sat down on her bed.

"Why the [heck] would he invite you to his wedding? If that was that is."

"I don't know, their whole evil scheme escapes me. I was always kind to them. Mr. Toll adored me, and that's why he promised to write. To keep me up to date he said. Hay yea! Now he just writes to do me in!"

She wrinkled her nose in disgust and sighed annoyed. There was that other item in her drawer. She walked towards it. "Claire, you've heard of a promise ring before, right?" She reached into the drawer and pulled out a ring. It was a silver band and had small diamond in it. "He didn't exactly promise marriage, but he implied it. He said that we would always be together, no matter where he went. This was a year and two months ago. Doesn't seem like a long time, but I guess he sneaked his way out of our relationship in a hurry. And then he jumped into one just as quick," she said angrily. She played with the ring in her fingers, then set it down oh the small dresser/table with a "tap." She wanted to throw it out the window, and never see it again. Or, she could just mail it back to them as a sign that she moved on, that it was over for her as well.

"Maybe he wants to say sorry, even though that makes no sense." She blurted out. "This all doesn't seem right, as if it is all fake." She shook her head. Savannah was so nice. She didn't need this. She was too innocent to be dealing with all of this.

Claire would have gladly just tore up the photo and mailed him back that and a note, a mean note. "No, I have never heard of a promise ring." She looked up and Savannah drawer. She didn't know what most things were now that she thought about it. "They make a promise, for something more, right?" It was bland and meaningless, but it was the best guess she had at the time.

Savannah decided that she just needed to calm down and think. Why would sh want to go to his wedding? He hadn't talked to her in months, and it would just be awkward. She wished she could send her save the date as a reply, just to rub it in their faces, but she wasn't even interested in anyone, and vice versa. So, what would she do? Tell them she was so happy, and hope they have the best marriage ever? She didn't really feel like that, so it would be dishonest.

"This all doesn't seem right, as if it is all fake." She nodded. "Worst apology I've ever received," she said exasperated. She picked the picture up and set it on her dresser. "Honestly, I don't know what to think. This is all very sudden, and confusing." She sat back on the bed trying to think clearly. She let out a bit of a frustrated "ugh" and stood up again. "I just don't know what to think, I'll let it be for now and think about it later. Besides, with being here, I might not be able to go to their wedding if I wanted too, which I don't." She laid out on her bed and yawned, trying to sort out her thoughts. They were all messy and running away. "Well, I just need to relax for some time." Like doing something fun would be nice. With people, yes actual people.

"This is stupid."Even though Claire was young, she kind of liked to fight her friends battles, even if she hardly ever won up against people a lot older then her. "I'd finish all of this if I were you." She paused. "There is no reason for him to be doing this to you. The least he could do was write a note on the back of the picture."

She gritted her teeth. She was not happy, even though all of this didn't even concern her. She could easily just say 'I don't know' and leave the room. She wasn't going to do that though. "Maybe he is trying to make you jealous, to guilt trip you into coming to the wedding." SHe stood up and paced for a second, then sat back down. There was nothing she could really do without Savannah permission, if she even cared.

"You could call him, or write him back. Do something to ask him why." She looked up, then down again to her feet. This was crazy.
