Gabe smiled as Yuki slid under the covers and waited for him to get comfortable before sliding closer. It was a bit strange to be so close but he had asked for it and he wasn't going to say no now. With a little hesitation, he leaned in close so the two were close without being too close. It was platonic cuddling so he didn't want to accidentally make Yuki feel uncomfortable. His arm slid over to rest on the other boy's side but seemed unsure of exactly where to place it just yet.

"...I don't know if anime rules apply here but I'm honestly fine with whatever. I want you to feel comfortable, though. Did you want to... curl up against me? Or the other way around? I don't know what the rules are, exactly." He giggles, his voice low as he stared into his partner's eyes. Although the room was pretty dark, he could still picture the soft shade of lavender Yuki's irises held.

"You can get into whatever position feels the most comfortable to you and I'll adapt to it. You're my guest, after all." He teased.

"This position is fine," The boy said and closed his eyes, the feelings of warmth and safety enveloping him softly and lulling him to sleep. He was tired. He couldn't help it.

Gabe nodded quietly, his hand still awkwardly sitting on Yuki's side as the other boy closed his eyes. Did he pull him closer? Did he move into the space to get more of a 'cuddle'? Was that even a thing? The thoughts swirled through his head over and over before he looked to Yuki again to see that his partner had fallen asleep. He blinked before letting out a small giggle to himself. It was too cute.

He watched the white-haired boy sleep for a few minutes before shaking his head and pulling it back close. This was good. Their relationship, both platonic and romantic, was still rather new. There wasn't a rush to see what their likes and dislikes were. For now, they could just enjoy the moment. He closed his eyes as well and eventually sleep took him as well.

Yuki awoke in the middle of the night, a sudden realisation of everything that had happened that evening flooding into his brain and jolting him awake.

Oh god.

He had to write about this. He had to unload all of it out of his head and into his diary before it all got too much. By the time he'd finished writing it sleep was calling for him to return, and to be honest Gabe was looking sort of lonely curled up in that big bed. He smiled to himself, planted a soft kiss on Gabe's cheek and giggled silently, his own face softening as he curled right up against Gabe, cheek to cheek. Gabe was warm and his breath was soft and steady. The night was perfect.

As he slept once more, he didn't even realise in his sleepy daze that he had left his diary wide open on the desk, most recent entry open for all to read.

Gabe shifted as he felt the bed shift but made no move to open his eyes. He was tired and barely focused on whatever was happening beyond his sleep. He could have sworn he felt the softest press of his partner's lips against his cheek before feeling a bit more pressure of someone curling into him. His eyes were heavy and he closed them once more, falling back into slumber.

His subconscious, meanwhile, had other plans. His arm snaked around until it was draped over Yuki while his legs shifted and draped themselves around to ensnare the boy into a much deeper cuddle. There was warmth there. Comfort. A sense of true relaxation as Gabe almost seemed to smile at the new development. He remained asleep, none the wiser that Yuki had even gotten up.

Yuki woke up early the next morning, surprised at himself. After a late night, he'd expected to have been asleep for longer. And he wasn't able to get back to sleep. Brilliant. After a few moments of enjoying the warmth, he realised that the warmth had a shape. And was breathing. And had legs wrapped around him and was hugging him from behind.

Oh. He was spooning with Gabe. And he was the little soon. It was nice, but he wanted to see more of Gabe's sleeping face. So he turned around. A voice at the back of his mind told him that it was weird watching his friend and partner sleep, but he suppressed it. After all, art existed to be appreciated.

He smiled, arms tucking themselves in under Gabe as he enjoyed the warmth and the feeling of soft skin. Gabe's face was so smooth and round and he wanted it to never change, even when Gabe got older. Eventually the white-haired boy did have to get up to get a drink though. He'd left his water in the living room. What he wasn't expecting as he headed there was to see Catalina sat at the kitchen table, drink that was possibly coffee sat steaming in a mug in front of her.

"Um...good morning." He smiled sheepishly. He hadn't been expecting this.

Catalina stifled a yawn as the coffee machine slowly dripped out a fresh pot of coffee. She was used to being an early to bed, early to rise type even before making it to the island from Halcyon. It had been a surprise to find out quickly she had adapted back into that usual schedule. It was a good focus point for her, though. It helped establish that sense of normalcy that she desperately needed in this post-Halcyon world. Having a shop to run too also helped immensely.

As the coffee poured, she couldn't help but think of her son and his new friend. She hadn't expected it when Gabriel came up to her to ask for a friend to spend the night and it took a lot of effort not to ask a lot of questions. It had been difficult to hear about everything her baby boy had put himself through to help with the shop. She had been so angry at first, upset that he felt the need to hide it. She had felt like a bad mother for not being able to do more and to put her son's mind at ease. Gabriel telling her the full truth had taken a lot of effort on his part and she wanted to always feel like he could talk to her. So she wouldn't push too hard, she'd let her son set the conversation when he felt ready. But she still couldn't help but be curious.

With the coffee finished, she poured out a fresh mug and took a seat at the little kitchen table and let out the breath she didn't know she was holding. Catalina could always ask after Yuki had left. She wouldn't want to embarrass Gabe in front of his new friend, especially after a first meeting

"Umm...good morning."

She glanced up, seeing the boy in question standing there looking awkward. She gave a faint smile and waved her hand over the table. "Good morning, Yuki. Did you sleep well? Coffee's ready if you would like some." She placed her hand back into her lap before adding, "...Can we speak for a moment? I imagine Gabriel is still asleep and it's not often I get a chance to talk." Perhaps she would get to learn about Yuki more without Gabriel's interference.

"Okay," he nodded, deciding that coffee wasn't the best of ideas. He wasn't sleepy anymore - the cuddling had gotten him more awake and relaxed. It was a nice steady buzz, rather than a shot of adrenaline. Plus if he drank coffee now he knew that it would make him at least a little more nervous than he needed to be. Caffeine tended to not go well with him when it wasn't in tea form, or diluted. Energy drinks were the devil.

"And sure."
The words implied that he was about to be told off, but the atmosphere suggested something more akin to a heart-to-heart. Which would be nice if that were the case. It'd be a good idea to get close to Gabe's mum - especially if they were going to get closer from here on out. Gabe was like water; without him Yuki was sure he would drown. There's be no one else to help him out of his attacks, to be there to hold him and carry him through the worst times like a brilliant knight in shining armour.

He took a seat to the side of her, letting the morning sunlight light up half his face and rather than blind him. Generally squinting was not conducive to decent conversation.

Catalina kept her smile as the white-haired boy took his seat and her eyes subtly washed over him. He was... surprisingly small for someone around Gabriel's age. It wasn't that abnormal but it didn't help her worrying. The brief talk from last night had left Catalina pondering on a few things and she'd rather clear it up now rather than stress.

"So, Yuki... I'm sorry that we didn't get too much time to chat last night. Gabriel tends to find me a little embarrassing at times but I can't help but dote on my child. He's my only son." She laughed, taking a sip of her coffee. "But I'm curious. You're the first friend he's brought home so I know he trusts you a great deal. And..."

She set the coffee cup down onto the table with a gentle tap. "If you ever need anything, I want you to know that you can always ask Gabriel or myself for it. He cares about you a great deal, I can tell. Everything he does is with a purpose but he likes to keep quiet about it." She smiles. "But you didn't hear that from me~"

Yuki nodded, understanding the gist of the conversation but not its implications. It was nice to know that they had offered him help and support. Both of them did. He supposed that maybe one of the reasons Gabe was good was because his mum was so good. She'd done a brilliant job raising him, it seemed.

"Thank you for the offer," he smiled warmly. "It's very natural for a mother to dote on her son. My own is like that a lot when she's at home." He wasn't really sure how to act - what to say or do. "If you're curious about something, it's no problem if you want to ask away." He relaxed into his seat a little more, putting his elbows on the table. No one was eating and he was pretty sure drinks didn't count, so it was alright. He hoped it'd make him look more friendly.
