In an odd moment of weird synchronizing, both Gabe and Catalina let out an audible gasp for two very different reasons. Gabe felt betrayed at Yuki's sudden questioning while Catalina was ecstatic at being able to tell a story of Gabriel's youth. She hadn't had the chance to tell any stories since arriving from Halcyon so this was the perfect opportunity. Gabe could only get out a small "No, mo-" before Catalina hushed her son and shifted to face Yuki fully.
"Gabriel, hush." Catalina grinned, gently waving off her son's concern. "I won't tell your friend anything too embarrassing. Yet." Gabe groaned, but seemed to accept that there was nothing he could do to stop his mother. "Okay, so when Gabriel was about six, he really loved to snack on sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds were an absolutely necessity to keep him happy or he'd have a full temper tantrum." She giggled while Gabe simply set his head down on the table with a very loud groan. It was obvious Gabe knew what story Catalina was telling.
"So, this was also around the time that his powers had begun to develop so Gabriel spent a lot of time pushing seeds to grow and blossom or sleeping next to potted seeds to wake up and see what plants have grown. So I'm working in the shop when I hear my little boy crying in the back room. So I quickly run to the back to find Gabe on the floor, covered in sunflower seed shells and crying uncontrollably. I ask him... I ask him what's the problem and he-"
At this point, Catalina is beginning to laugh between words, desperately trying to finish her story. "Gabriel tells me that he had eaten the sunflower seeds so now his tummy was going to be full of sunflowers! So I'm sitting there, trying my best not to laugh at my baby boy because those seeds aren't going to grow. Eventually, I tell him and you know what he does?"
"He starts crying more because the seeds won't ever grow!" Catalina is full laughing at this point and Gabe has not removed his head from the table. This was not what he expected from this night.
