Maddie batted at his hand when he messed up her hair.

"Fight me," she said with some enthusiastic jumping. She moved like one of those game boxers, fists up and jumping comically back and forth.

Yes, she was hyper in the morning.

He'd roll his eyes at her, she was a little too energetic for the morning, but he decided to play along.

He took a boxing stance, bouncing from one foot to another, forming boxing gloves on his hands and sporting an old timey accent. "Come on, come on, you wanna tussle?"

Maddie stifled her grin and threw a swift, weak punch his way.

She had mentioned to him at one point that she liked to wrestle. Maybe that came from that animal part of her? Or maybe not.

"Put 'em up!"

He'd pretend to take the punch in slow motion making sounds and contorting his face like he was in a Rocky Balboa movie.

He'd bring his boxing gloves up, spinning toting them around like he was trying to get her fight him. "Come on you, you hit like my granny, you ain't got the guts."

His reflexes allowed him to get out of her way quickly, he dodge around her, sticking his tongue out tauntingly at her.

In the next moment, Maddie was a coyote, landing on her paws and turning to him.

She wagged her tail hard enough that her body followed as she ran at him again, yipping.

She dropped her upper half low, tail still wagging as she stared him down.

Come at me, bro, the look said.

Well then, this was the first time he saw her transform, it was a very quick thing, and seeing a coyote ready to play and wrestle like a dog was kinda bizarre.

"Alright then" He'd dispel his boxing gloves in his trademark blue rose petals and drop down to his hands and knees, imitating maddie slightly.
