Cade stared at the ground while he walked alongside Atalia. He looked up to examine his surroundings, then stopped when Atalia looked at him. Being expelled from school was never a good thing, at least in Cade's mind, it wasn't. He thought back to the day when it happened. He felt that it wasn't really his own fault; eh, not much he could do about it now....

The girl asked him what he got expelled for. The answer to that was...somewhat...conspicuous...and she could probably guess that answer if she wanted to. He shrugged before answering. "Expelled for using my powers....back when I never knew that I even had any..." It was his turn to ask something. What could he possibly ask? Nothing too personal, he thought. He looked at her. "So uhh...." He would have to think about this for a while. Crap...

Ata frowned, and shook her head with disapproving amrs flailing. "That's stupid! I get so irritated with people who don't have powers. They just don't understand..." Ata sighed, and shrugged. "Well, then I guess it's good that you ended up here." She started to whistle a bit, and fluttered her wings lightly.

She noticed that Cade apparently wasn't too happy about that. Well, it wasn't like it was his fault. It's not like he had assaulted anyone because he wanted to hurt them or anything. Well, at least thats what Atalia wanted to think.

She saw him thinking about what to ask her. She bursted into laughter, and tapped him lightly on the shoulder. "Well, come on, I'm sure there's something you want to ask me. Ask me anything at all. The first thing that pops into your head!" She nodded, and began to float again. Elatrion had always thought that Atalia was part fairy, or part sugar or something. Always dancing around and hyper.

Sure, it was stupid. Perhaps normal people didn't really understand at all, Cade thought. He came to the Academy reluctantly. He didn't really want to be here. But he had second thoughts about wanting to leave. He was...slowly...making friends. For that he was happy.

"Ummm...." He was afraid of asking the girl the wrong thing. He could only watch as she began to float again. "I don't know...."

Atalia sighed. What a stick in the mud! She crossed her legs, still in mid air, and she flew right in front of Cade's face, examining it. She raised an eyebrow, and she studied the lines in his face, and could see the worry lines. "I think I found your problem." She tapped his cheek, and ran her finger along his jawline before fluttering away.

She landed, and threw her arm up in the air as if presenting something important. "You have too many worry lines. What's the matter, Cade? I won't bite, I promise." She grinned widely, and shrugged playfully. There really wasn't anything he could ask that would make her angry. She had nothing to hide in her eyes.

He carefully watched her as she was now floating in front of him. He glared at her with an estranged face as she examined and touched his face. Why is she touching my face....no one....touches....my face.... He was a little annoyed by that, though he showed no emotion.

What's this about worry lines, he wondered. He shrugged at this thought. She claimed she wouldn't bite. He believed her. Besides, she seemed to be the hyperactive type of girl. "I have....a lot....of problems...." he said with hesitation between each set of words.

Wit that, Atalia's smile vanished. Worry filling her eyes and she calmed down almost instantly. She went up to Cade, and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm sorry, Cade." She whispered in his ear. Even though she was scatterbrained, and hyper at times, she had the capability to be understanding, and calm as well. Something her sister taught her that was vitally important. Especially with situations like this.

She let go of him, and backed away a couple steps in case he wanted his space. Though, hopefully the hug would make him feel better. "I know I can be a little scatterbrained, but if you need to talk about anything, or if you need any help, well, you're looking at one of the best ears around!" Atalia tried a smile to make him feel better, but it only ended up as a smirk. She winked at him, and patted him on the shoulder very lightly.

She meant well, even if her short attention span and hyperactivity prevented her from showing it.

He watched the girl's smile fade away. When she wrapped her arms around to hug him, Cade said or did nothing. He just stood there, emotionless, like a statue. She whispered in his ear. She was sorry? For what? It's not her fault that Cade is like this. It seemed that she was trying to be understanding. For that, he was grateful that somebody even cared.....

When she released herself from him, he glanced over at the ground. She was only trying to help him, he figured. She claimed she would help him when needed. Again, he believed. He looked up at her and tried to crack a smile, but couldn't for some reason. "Thanks...."

Atalia nodded, and tried to think of a way to cheer the kid up. He seemed really beat up about something, and Atalia just coudn't put her finger on what. She tapped her finger to her chin in thought, and paced around for a bit. "You know what you need?" Atalia thought aloud, "something to heal your soul. Like a soul band aide or something." She laughed at the thought of putting a band aide on his soul. It would look very silly indeed.

She continued to be lost in thought, and began to think aloud. "A joke? Would a joke make him feel better? No, that's too small, he's got bigger problems that aren't going to be fixed by stupid jokes." As she began talking to herself she began to float, and without realizing it, she was higher than the trees. "What about a cake.... No, food wasn't going to make him feel better either." Until she looked down, and screamed. "AH!" She extended her limbs out and grabbed herself in fright. She sighed, and lowered herself back down to the ground.

Blushing a bright cherry red scratched the back of her head quite embrassed. "I hate it when I do that..."

Cade just simply stared at the girl while paced around the area endlessly while trying to come with a way to cheer the guy up. What's this about a...bandaid...for his soul...? He heard her laughing at her own thoughts. Eh...what is she up to....? he thought.

He could only watch now as the girl began to ascend off the ground and into the air. She didn't even realize what she was doing. Cade was watching this the whole time, saying or doing nothing to stop her. He looked up as she rose high above the trees and when she came to realization and looked down, he gave a small wave, again saying nothing.

When she descended to the ground and blushed, he simply smiled at her, again while saying nothing at all. He found it quite humorous to see her floating in the air without even noticing herself doing so. It somewhat reminded him of himself whenever he rammed into a tree while flying. Then he finally spoke again. "For some reason I think that was intentional."

Atalia clapped as for when she returned, she saw a smile on his face. Finally! She spun around in a circle, and blushed again. She hadn't really done anything but brainstorm... Perhaps she should do that more often. She giggled, and shrugged. "Maybe it was." She winked, and played it all like she knew what she was doing.

Then it hit her. "Were... We going somewhere?" She had completely forgotten what they had been up to and had gotten competley off track. Great, just great. Elatrion would definately have said something about that. 'Atalia you'd lose your head if it wasn't screwed on!' she'd say. But Atalia would simply stick out her tongue, and roll her eyes. What did she know about having a good time anyways? "I think it's your turn to talk Cade." Atalia grinned, and nudged him a bit. "Come on, I'm still waiting for that question."
