It was a beautiful night outside the academy. A tall, lonely, young male elected to take a stroll outside in search of place to attain peace among himself. He often preferred to be by himself as of right now, since he has problems getting himself acquainted with others, even though the rest of the students here are just like him. A soft gentle breeze blew in the boy's face and his long brown hair, his hazel eyes closed as he took deep breaths of air as if he was meditating. This being was known as Cade Laidon, new to the school. He opened his eyes and looked up into the dark night sky. "Nice night; too bad I won't be enjoying it for long." he said softly to himself. As the breeze blew his hair, he pushed it further back to uncover his light skinned face, which is a rarity, for he often preferred not to be seen.

Atalia wandered back towards the dorms after having a peaceful night with Marco. She smiled to herself, and was crossing the lawn, when she saw a mysterious young man dressed in black. She approached him, and offered a small wave. "Nice night, isn't it?" She looked up at the stars and sighed, always admiring their subtle beauty.

She then looked back at the young man for a closer look. She didn't recognize him, and figured he must be new. "Are you new? My name's Atalia, welcome to Starlight." She gave him a small, but warm, and welcoming smile.

His long hair blowing with the light breeze while looking up into the night sky, Cade heard footsteps coming from somewhere nearby. The footsteps got louder as they drew closer to him. He was just about to call it a night as he turned his head to the direction of the footsteps to see a girl approaching him to greet him. She seemed to figure that he was new. Sure enough she was right. It would only seem right to reply to her. "Yes. I am Cade."

Atalia grinned, and stuck out a hand for him to shake. "A pleasure meeting you Cade. Are you liking the Academy so far?" She then sat down next to him, and ran her hands through the grass, and titled head. She loved the feeling of the grass under her fingers.

[It's fine.]

Cade looked at the young girl as she put a hand out in front of her to shake his. For once, Cade was in a good mood and tried to be nice. He too put out his hand to shake her's and smiled. It was unlikely of Cade to jump right into a conversation. He often keeps to himself. But he was willing to make an exception tonight. "Likewise." He endured a sensation of nervousness as the girl sat down next to him. "I think I like it." he replied to her inquiry.

Noticing the sudden awkward tensity in Cade's body, Atalia was sure to keep her distance, and not to sit too close. She didn't want to make this new boy uncomfortable. She crossed her legs, and unzipped her purse, pulling out a water bottle. She looked over at Cade, he didn't seem like the talkative type. Though Atalia was quite good at getting little turtles to come out of their shell... Besides, when you had a twin sister with depression, you become pretty good and cheering people up, and getting them to relax. She nodded, and smiled. "That's good. I'm glad you like it. I find it kind of boring sometimes." She leaned in a little, whispering to him, "I usually skip my classes." She giggled, and returned to her previous position. She unscrewed the cap of the bottle, and pulled the water out with her hands, forming a small sphere in her hands. The water swirrled around, keeping the globe shape Atalia had manipulated it in.

It was pretty obvious that Cade was nervous at that point. In fact it was so obvious, he started to sweat a little. The girl had kept her distance from Cade, considering that he was indeed nervous, so that he wouldn't feel too uncomfortable, which is completely understandable in his case. As she revealed a little secret to him, his hazel eyes opened wide in shock. Why would someone intentionally skip a class for any reason? Who knows. At most times Cade hated school, but he would never do such a thing.

"Really? That's.......that's not cool." he exclaimed. He watched as the girl pulled out a water bottle from her purse and a spherical form emerged from the water. Cade observed this and realized that this must have been her power. "Now THAT is cool." he praised with a rare smirk.

Atalia laughed at him when he exclaimed is disapprovment of her skipping classes. What was it with anti-socials and school? "My sister says the same thing. I just don't feel like getting up, and I feel like it's a waste of time. I have a lot more fun outside, and reading." She smirked, and shrugged. "But if you insist on going to your classes, you might give my sister Elatrion a nice wave. She's a little short on the talkative side, I think you two would get along really well." Her grin turned into a smile as she invisioned the two really having a lot in common.

She laughed even harder when Cade complimented her power. She took a sip of the water, and then offered him some. "What's your power, then, as you can obviously see mine." She said, winking.

For some reason the girl simply laughed at Cade's reactions. Why? She seemed to find them humorous but Cade didn't. He simply shook his head. shrugged, and smirked as he laughed at him. "Waste of time you say? Eh...I often feel that way as well, but never would I skip a class for a reason that is not legitimate." He then took a moment to imagine him and her sister having something in common. At this, he raised an eyebrow in confusion.

He looked over as she offered him some of her water. He nodded and grabbed the bottle. He took a sip and poured some of the water into his right hand. He squinted his eyes at the water in his hand, for he was about to demonstrated his own powers. Suddenly, two crimson red lasers beams were shot out of his eyes, one from each eye, aiming for the water in his hand. After about a minute of this, the water began to vaporize and evaporate from the heat of the beams. He then shook off the rest of the water then went to stand up in the grass. "That is not all I can do. Look." After he said that, he took off his black t-shirt revealing his somewhat athletic looking upper body and also revealing a tattoo of angel wings on his back. Suddenly, two black wings have formed. This was a weak power. He can't fly yet. Hence, he felt some pain as he did this trick. He looked back to the girl. "It's not much, but I can manage."

Atalia waved her hand, and the water in her hand slimmed itself, and whirrled into a tunnel, going back into the bottle. She screwed the cap back on, and clapped for Cade's first trick. "That's amazing!" She brushed her hands through the grass, letting the remaining drops of water fall onto the plants for a small drink. "I bet it took a lot of practice to control, huh? My liquid maniuplation came naturally... I had to work at it of course, but I got it down pretty quickly. Elatrion on the other hand..." Atalia bit her lip, a habit she had when she was nervous, about to talk about something she didn't like to, or something was just wrong. "That's a different story, for another night I think.." She voice became a little bit more quiet, until she shrugged, and laid down in the grass.

"Your wings are beautiful." She turned around, pointing to her own fairy wings. "Mine are a little less magnificent." She laughed.
