Cade's eyes were closed as he laid on the sand at the shore. He felt Atalia's hand patting his shoulder. He opened his eyes and rolled them over in her direction. Apparently she had fun, for she was rolling on the floor laughing, for what? Who knows. She explained how she loved the water so much, and why she thought she was given her aquakinetic ability. He shrugged at this. Then she inquired him as to why he thought he was given the power of optical lasers and perhaps his black feathered wings. He sat up on the ground, shrugged again, and shook his head. Maybe it was to protect people. But Cade only showed lack of confidence. He looked over to her and gave his answer.

"I want to help people.....but.....I'm afraid. I'm afraid of only hurting myself if I try to help people.....I used to stand out.....a lot.....not because of my appearance.....mainly.....because I was different.....like an outcast of sorts.....I couldn't take it.....endure it.....face the fact that I was the odd man out.....so.....I came here to try and better myself.....doesn't seem to be working so far....." After saying this, he looked away from Atalia, hiding his face inside his shirt.

Atalia stopped laughing, and looked over at Cade with a solem face. She titled her head a bit, and felt sorry for the poor kid. Atalia knew about rejection, but she had her sister to care for, so there wasn't any time to feel bad about it. Atalia had to be strong for her sister... and for herself.

Atalia smirked, and pulled Cade's wet shirt from his face, and kissed him on the cheek. "What makes you think your the odd man out?" Atalia then sat back on the sand cross-legged. She looked around herself, and tapped her chin. "The funny thing about this place... Is that normal is taken to a whole new perspective. If you don't have powers, then your wierd. And well, I think you've got that covered Cade!" She gave him a geniune smile, and shrugged slightly.

Atalia looked over Cade, and felt he needed a friend. Atalia was more than willing to be his friend, too. "I think you should give yourself another chance."

Apparently, Atalia pitied Cade. When she went over to him, swiped his shirt away and kissed him on the cheek, his face turned a light shade of pink and smiled slighlty. He looked over to her again and spoke reluctantly. "Another chance...? Well, whether or not being normal, which I wished I could be, is weird, I might as well try."

Atalia snorted, and rolled her eyes. "What's so great about being normal anyways? It makes you so predictable, so the same. If everyone was 'normal' I don't think I could take it! Everything being so regular and standard... I think individuality makes things much more exciting and interesting. Besides, if you were like everyone else, you wouldn't be you."

Atalia winked at him, and stood, walking towards the water. She stuck her feet in, and pace along side the shore, feeling the wet sand in between her toes.

Cade got up and walked over to her. He sat next to her with his knees to his chest. "I think you're missing the point. I'm saying I'm going to try to be myself. I don't want to be like everyone else. But trying to be different is what makes me stand out. So, I try to hide my real self, but can't."

He reached out with his hand to feel the water. It was still cold. He wouldn't dare go in now.

Atalia looked down at him and smiled. "Just saying... I get a little excited about being different...." She laughed, and shrugged. Atalia then started to move the sand with her toes, making a little bed for her foot. The waves then washed the sand from her feet, exposing the cool toned flesh of her foot once again.

"It's a funny thing having powers, don't you think?" Atalia bit her lip, and sat into the water, feeling its coolness around her body. "It's like... We were chosen for a higher purpose, you know? Like with each power we were given, we were also given a special task." Atalia shook her head. "I don't know, I'm just talking crazy from thinking too much I guess."

Cade stood up again to shake off the water on his hands and the sand in his feet. He took a moment to think about everything that she had just said. Maybe she was right. Maybe there is a purpose for having these powers. But what? He bended his upper body forward to reach for his toes to stretch himself. While he straightening himself up again, he spread his "beautiful" black feathered wings again. "Maybe you're right. There has to be some kind of legitimate reason for having these...'gifts'. But what? I don't know, but I don't want to let these 'gifts' go to waste."

Atalia jumped up, and clapped for Cade. It made her so happy to hear he was loosening up. She wrapped her arms around him, and laughed. "That's the spirit!" She then started to float, which then turned to circles in the air.

She loved making people feel better... And for Cade, it was making him realize, that he had gifts, not curses. Atalia loved helping people... It was like cleansing their souls... Like water washing away the sand... It was her meaning in life she thought, and she was all for helping others find their purposes too.

(OOC: this is a bad retyep... I had it, but then it went dumb and I had to retype it x.x)

(It's fine, I've seen worse..... XD )

When Atalia wrapped her arms around him, he simply looked up into the sky and smiled. He turned his head around to watch floating around in circles. He was finally convinced that he had 'gifts'. The real purpose of these 'gifts' are still unknown. But he felt that while he has them, he might as well make good use of them.

Atalia floated around, but the wound up right in front of Cade. She raised an eyebrow, with a fixed expression. She gazed into his eyes, and smiled. "So, think we coud maybe try to be a bit more cheery now that we've realized having powers ain't so bad afterall?"

If anything, Cade needed a good light hearted laugh to get his spirits going, now that he isn't so solem about his powers. Atalia then giggled, and swooped down on the lake, flicking a little water in Cade's direction.
