Project Pals

Jouka was scrolling through the plays as Mochi glanced at each one. It felt like it had been a long time since she did a group project with anyone. She was super nervous about it. This meant a lot towards her grade, so she wasn't about to flub it up. Then again she was in perfectly good standing in the class anyway. Her real source of nerves was the fact that she was doing a romantic skit with a guy she didn't know. A romance skit! She was practically boiling over with shyness right about now. The hair noticed her nerves and proceeded to comment.

"Relax kid, you'll knock it out the park!"

"But what if he doesn't like me? What if he's lazy? What if I end up doing this on my own? What if something goe--"

"MOMO CHILL! Everything will be okay. You don't need to be blowing a fuse over this. It's your first meeting. You two will talk, figure things out, and then go your separate ways after planning another meeting. No big deal!"

The futakuchi-onna sighed as her head sunk into her hands. Just then, she heard a knock from outside. The girl perked up instantly in an attempt to give a good impression. She crossed her legs like a lady and held her hands together in front of her. Her back straightened, and a friendly smile was on her face.

"Hello!"

The moment he was within view, she stood up and extended her hand out.

"My name's Mochi. Nice to meet you!"

She actually introduced herself in Japanese, but the translation magic allowed her words to be articulated into clear English for the guy. She tended to slip back to her native language when she was nervous. A light accent kicked in as she stated the words. The girl would hopefully shake hands with him before sitting back down in her chair.

@"King"

Mochi returned the handshake. She was firm but gentler than Daniel. He was a cutie actually; she liked the ponytail look going on. She was a bit jealous actually; she generally couldn't wear ponytails because of Jouka. Hairstyles were difficult when you had to accommodate for a second mouth. Then again, he wasn't as bad about ponytails as other hairstyles. Forget about a formal bun. She noticed he was scanning her quickly, and she hid her embarrassment. Hopefully she looked good! She couldn't help but check him out too. He was one cute-looking bookworm. However, it was time to focus on the task at hand.

Her eyes glanced at the list of possible plays and frowned a bit. She hadn't even narrowed it down really. What were they going to do? This was going to be somewhat problematic.

"U-Um, well, what would you like to know?"

"Just to be clear, you touch any naughty bits and your ass is grass, kid!"

"JOUKA!"

The hair was certainly vocal today. He was already getting defensive over the girl. It was charming but unnecessary. Daniel didn't seem like the type to be that perverted. Oh crap, he just met her! There was no way in hell he would know what she was. He probably found that gruff voice super weird and out of nowhere! Her cheeks blushed a light pink color as she explained.

"I'm a futakuchi-onna. It...It means I have two mouths. The other one is on the back of my head. His name is Jouka."

She then thought of a rather ludicrous thought and forced it out of her mind.

"If we do kiss, it'll be with mine, don't worry! ...I mean..."

A manly roar of laughter filled the room as she hit her head against the desk. Why did this have to be so awkward?

This meeting was awkward for the both of them. Mochi peeked her head out from the table to reveal that her entire face was crimson red. Her eyes spotted him blushing as well. They weren't even a couple yet they were expected to act like one! She never did act much thinking about it, and when she did, she was a kid. Kids were expected to be cute, adorable, and innocent. This was pretty far from innocent. She shifted uncomfortably in her chair as she forced herself to sit upright.

"I have a mind of my own, but it's connected to Momo's here. So I get to hear aaaalll of her naughty little thoughts~"

"I'M NOT THINKING ANY!"

Her hand immediately moved to give her hair a hard yank. She cringed in pain as the second mouth cried out. He needed to stop that! She could tell he was just messing with her. This was a terrible time to pull pranks! Her eyes gazed away nervously as she tried to move on.

"So um...I don't exactly have any experience with the whole romance thing. I've never kissed or dated before."

Now if a certain blonde werewolf wasn't taken, she couldn't say that. She would be right in his arms smooching all over him. However Izzy had him so he was totally off limits. She would just have to get over her hero crush and let her friends be happy. At least this made her single. It would be less awkward if she was single, right? No boyfriend getting angry over her pretending to date another guy, even if it was for a school project. Just what kind of project was this anyway?!

@"King"

The youkai was just about to explode from humiliation. The blushing was immense. She wondered if her face would be permanently red. It took all of her strength to turn her head and glance at the guy. They were both feeling the same kind of emotions right now. Jouka was just egging it on like a teasing parent. He was bouncing between playful and protective. The hair wanted his girl to have a little fun, but he didn't want some scum taking advantage of her. This was both his way of getting laughs and testing the young man. Thus far, Daniel was doing pretty well.

That was when he made an actual move on the board. Well now, someone was being assertive about his attraction! Mochi's eyes widen a bit. Was she really that attractive?! She didn't think she was that cute. Heck, she thought she was hideous some time ago. Who would want a freaky hair girl like her?! That was until she moved to Manta Carlos. Here she had better luck with relations, but even so, she didn't have a single date yet. There was an emphasis on the yet at this rate. Her brown eyes glanced slightly downward at the table as she spoke.

"N-No..."

Her partner was so flattering her. Even her hair began to twitch a bit. She nervously played with a strand of her hair with her finger. Now where did they go from here? This project meeting was getting derailed hard. She averted her eyes towards the wall as she nearly spaced out. Her mind was trying to calm itself after getting all riled up. That was when Jouka made it even WORSE.

"If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like you're takin' a liking to my Momo. You asking her out, kid?"

Mochi went into a coughing fit. WHAT?! JOUKA PLEASE! His tone sounded more inquisitive than angry though. Perhaps that was a yes....perhaps Jouka was about to reach over and strangle Danny. It would all depend on how he worded his answer.

Jouka was really causing a riot between the two. He stirred a pot of trouble for the partners as Mochi remained mostly passive. She was struggling to reel Jouka in. He was yapping off far too much, but she couldn't help but be curious of Daniel's answer. Her brown eyes steadily changed direction to look at the college student. She kept crossing and uncrossing her legs. There was a lot of fidgeting going on. The hair impatiently waited for an answer. The mouth let out a menacing chuckle. That was when he took out something that intrigued.

She moved slightly forward to see what it was. It was a book called Jurassic Park. Wait, it was a novel?! She had no idea! The girl watched with intrigue as he moved through the pages. The red on his face was fading slowly. So books relaxed him. That was an interesting relaxation method. Once he was calm, that was when Jouka received his answer. The hair moved like hands as one "hand" moved up to the mouth while the other crossed over the back of Mochi's head. It was like it was pondering what to think about the boy's response. He then laughed a bit as the sir was added.

"Good answer Danny."

That was enough from him for now. Mochi finally regained the strength to say something.

"We should probably get back to the project...."

She smiled sweetly as she glanced at him
