"Oh come on, the PR response? Really?" Cleo chuckled, rolling her eyes. "It's not like I'm a reporter or anything." She said, taking another sip of her drink, and trying not to gag at the taste.

"But.. if you don't want to tell me, I understand. Confidentiality and all that." She said with a shrug.

Cris chuckled at Cleo's comment about the PR response. While it was the answer she should give, it did get old not being able to talk about things. Sometimes outsider thoughts could lead to new details being uncovered.
Giving a defeated sigh, Cris placed her drink back upon the table and glanced around. She wanted to make sure there weren't too many eavesdroppers that would take advantage.
"Alright alright. There is something. Something intriguing. We got lab work back from a patient with some very odd readings to it. Think it might have to do with a recent attack."

Cleo leaned in close when Cris started talking about getting lab work back. She could understand the need to make sure other people weren't listening in. She'd done the same when she had met Malakias.

"You mean, the recent vampire attacks?" She asked, there were many rumors about the attacks, and any information Cleo could get regarding them would be useful."Odd how?"

Cris appreciated Cleo leaving in to keep the conversation low. She really shouldn't have been talking about this, but Cris was actually enjoying having company and maybe even a friend.
A nod came in response to the question. Cris's face stayed blank, showing no emotion. It was how she normally was when it came to casework, even when discussing with others.
"Yes. Odd because there was something else in the results. Something you don't normally see in vampires. Even ones doing regular and heavy partying with several expected drugs."

Cleo nodded as Cris spoke. "Wait. Could it be they took that new drug?" Cleo asked. The Volkov's had recently come out with a new drug called "Fall" and it was seemingly popular. She'd even seen people taking it at a few clubs.

"But then.. Why would it only affect vampires?" Cleo asked. Surely if Fall was causing the attacks, there would be others, right?

Cris blanked her face of all expression so it couldn't be read. It was a technique she had picked up quickly working in the field she was in. It was useful in not betraying anything good or bad about a subject.
"Drugs, food, and many other things can have different effects on the different species that reside on Manta Carlos. I assure you the MCPD are looking into all possible options."
The detective grabbed her drink and took another sip of it before looking to the TV. She was looking for anything she could find to change the subject. That was when she saw it and chuckled a little bit.
"This is my favorite part. Post race interviews."
On the screen was Alyx being asked about their last maneuver to win. The hotshot was talking it up as much as he could. Fitting. The amusing part was Cambrissa-9 in the background moving from shoulder to shoulder trying to interject and Alyx merely changing his stance to block her out of the shot.

Cleo blinked when Cris went blank. Maybe she'd hit a nerve when she mentioned the new drug. "Er. Right.." she said, figuring she wasn't going to get much else out of Cris, and not really sure where to take the conversation from here.

Cris turning her attention back towards the post race interviews, was a welcome distraction. "Hmm. They're certainly entertaining." She said, watching the antics between Cambrissa, and Alyx.

Cris just shook her head and chuckled again as Cambrissa slipped literally through Alyx, stealing his limelight. The detective had a feeling that their antics paired with Kek's cooler demeanor was a lot of what drove people to being fans of the team.
"I don't know how Kek puts up with them. In all honesty, as entertaining as they are, I don't think I could stand that all the time."
She had been getting out of her comfort zone and meeting more people as well as doing more things, but it still took a lot to deal with willful ignorance and disregard for common sense. Kek had significantly more patience than Cris did.

Cleo laughed as Cambrissa went through Alyx. "I would imagine that winning as often as they do has something to do with it." She said with a slight grin. After all, winning was all that mattered.

"Or maybe Kek just enjoys the craziness Cambrissa and Aylx. Who can say?" Cleo asked with a shrug. "And someone does have to keep them in line."

Cris laughed at the thought of trying to keep those two in line. It seemed a near impossible feat, but at the same time, the two of them needed Kek as much as she needed them.
"It's almost poetic. The calm within the storm. The almost symbiotic relationship of how they all need each other. I don't know how they do it. I struggle to keep investigators from contaminating a crime scene."
