Cleo just shrugged. "Well, it's a bit more than just dealing with Alyx. They also have to deal with Kek, and Cambrissa too." She said, taking a sip of her drink. "Buuuuutttt, Anne seems to keep everything under control." Keeping the other three under control couldn't be easy.

She laughed when Cris drank what was left of her old drink. "Wow. Way to rub it in." She said, teasingly. "I am glad one of us can enjoy that sludge though."

Cris laughed along with Cleo. When she set the glass down, she lifted her top lip in almost a snarl and let her tongue run over her fang before returning to an amused smile.

"It's an...acquired....taste."

The vampire couldn't help but blush and chuckle at her joke. Clearly the alcohol staying to work on her as her cheeks were rosy in color.

"Oh dealing with all of them must be a chore, but I can see why someone would do it. Never a dull moment."

Cleo chuckled and nodded. She honestly didn't know how Anne put up with all three of them day in and day out, but she seemed to enjoy it. "Absolutely. Controlled chaos and all that. It's part of why I enjoy gambling, you can never quite tell what will happen next."

"Had too much?" She teased, taking another sip of her drink. It seemed like the two cocktails were starting to work their magic on the Vampire.

Cris patted her cheeks, feeling a little tingle in them. It always amused her that the drinks still affected her and always caught her off guard.

"I don't drink too often. What was it? Controlled chaos and all that. It's kinda like this. Never really know when or how bad, but you still have some control."

She chuckled again. Honestly she was enjoying her time with Cleo so far. It wasn't often she actually got to just chat about anything. Usually people were asking question about cases thei should know the answers to.

"Do you have a particular game or thing you like to gamble on?"

Cleo chuckled when Cris patted her cheeks. "I will say, that's one of the benefits of getting up to my age. You get to know what and where your limits are." Cleo said, jokingly. She assumed Cris was a relatively new vampire, since it didn't seem like she was that old.

She'd take a sip of her drink while thinking over Cris's question. "Well, blackjack has always been a favorite of mine. It's a perfect balance of skill and luck. Roulette is also fun once you know how to play it." She said with a slight smirk. "And, of course, how to cheat as well."

"I just don't drink enough to usually start effecting me. I'm the boring, one drink and then leaving person." A nonchalant shrug came that truly showed how separated Cris was from other people. It didn't seem like it got to her.

Cris listened to Cleo carefully. Her two games of choice were almost exact opposite ends of the spectrum. It was interesting that she found them both exciting but for different reasons.

"With a long enough plan and a sharp enough mind, can't you eliminate the luck aspect of blackjack? Granted it is frowned upon by casinos usually, but seeing as you mention cheating in roulette, I didn't think card counting would be beyond you in terms of ethical considerations."

Cleo shook her head. "I never said I cheat. I just know how to cheat." She said with a laugh. Of course, she was more then willing to cheat if it meant she won, but that didn't exactly seem like something she should be telling a cop of all people.

"As for blackjack. You can card count, but you don't exactly have to. If you know the strategy for each hand, you can almost guarantee a win. Card counting is only good for telling you which cards are where." Cleo said, sipping on her drink.

"What about you? Surely you have other hobbies outside of work?"

Cris waved a dismissive hand as Cleo seemingly tried to act like she didn't cheat. This was constantly something people did around her and it always amused her, especially considering she had most people pegged from the beginning.

"You don't need to pretend with me. You aren't killing anyone and the casino hasn't pressed charges. Even then, arresting someone with charges isn't my job. So you're safe.... for now..."

She chuckled as she spoke until her face dropped and got serious while adjusting her glasses when she said 'for now.'

"Kidding. Me? Well ASTRAL is one. But other than that? Uh...ok don't laugh. It's a guilty pleasure but I really like those cheesey romance novels. You know the ones with like Fabio look alike on the cover?"

Her face cringes as she prepares for the laugh to come.

Cleo blinked at the hand wave, before letting out a sigh. "Fine. I may cheat ever so slightly from time to time. And you're right. It's not like I'm killing anyone." Besides, it the casinos made plenty of money, Cleo doubted she even really put a dent in their profits.

When Cris talked about romance novels, Cleo really tried to hold back a laugh. But she failed, and burst out laughing. "I'm sorry." She said in between laughs. "If it's any consolation, I have a soft spot for those terrible hallmark movies."

"If it were that big of a deal, thre casinos would know and would bring up charges. Then it would be a different story. Either way you admitting now isn't self incriminating to anything in the future."

Cris joined in the laughter at herself and the smile kept up as Cleo mentioned hallmark movies. She understood that feeling as well.

"Oh the holidays are the best for those. Something about how simple and predictable they are that I can just turn my brain off for the duration and still know what's going on."
