Cleo

Cleo let out a laugh. "I have also been drinking. So, if you were to charge me for any 'crimes' I confessed to, I could easily argue entrapment." Of course, that wasn't the actual definition of entrapment, but hopefully Cris understood what she meant.

She'd nod when Cris mentioned how predictable they were. "There's something nice about the familiarity of each of them. You don't have to worry about what will come next, because if you've seen one, you've really seen them all. Besides, have you heard those theories that they all take place in the same universe?"

The laughing continued. Cris knew what she was meaning and didn't bother to correct her. It was a trivial detail that was important to the conversation.
"That's fair enough. But if I did that, I'd very likely lose my one drinking partner too."
Cris nodded along with Cleo as she described how the predictability was move because of the familiarity.
"I have! I actually wouldn't be surprised if there was some director or someone pulling the strings that is actually from Manta Carlos."

Cleo

Cleo raised an eyebrow when Cris called her her only drinking partner. "Come on, you're joking. I cannot be the only one." She said, though she got the feeling that Cris wasn't. Maybe people were just intimidated because she was a cop.

She raised an eyebrow Cris mentioned that there might be a director out there from Manta Carlos who was responsible for everything. "Maybe, there's bound to be some universe out there where that has happened. I'm a little surprised that there hasn't been one based on this place, if that is the case." She said, giving a small laugh at her own joke.

Cris smirked, more at an attempt to keep up appearances than anything serious. Placing both hands on the now empty glass, she usee it to keep from fidgeting.
"No, you're it. Some are uncomfortable with me being a detective because I either don't talk about my investigations, or talk only about that. Some don't like the fact that I'm a living contact tracer."
Honestly the second part was what made most uncomfortable. She was able to tell who had been where simply by focusing. Well, it was more than that, but that was the easiest way to explain it.
"I bet they're isn't because getting too exact could lead to more in the narrow looking into and finding more supernatural and the like. Could be disastrous potentially."

Cleo rolled her eyes. "Seriously? We need to get you out more." She said, finishing off her iced tea. "Even cops need to have fun every once in a while."

She squinted at Cris when she said she was a contact tracer. If she knew everywhere she'd been, that could mean that Cris knew of Cleo's dealings with the Volkovs. And that could be very bad.

"I don't buy it." She huffed. "Where have I been today?" She asked, wanting to see if Cris's powers were as good as she claimed. She was normally pretty good at picking up bluffs, and this certainly seemed like one.

"So its not that easy. I wish it was. I can pickup on trace amounts of DNA and separate different ones from each other to identify who has been in an area."

Cris sighed and looked around. There were a few people here still, but she was certain there had been more throughout the day. The easiest way to do this might be to show off a little.

"It doesn't give me names but it lets me identify a person by DNA when I refocus later during a lineup or something similar. For instance..."

Her eyes slipped shut and the detective took in a long slow breath before exhaling much in the same way. She blinked a few times and looked back to Cleo.

"There have been 341 individuals come to this establishment today. 6 of those, including myself, have also been to the department today."

So it didn't work in the way Cleo thought. Good. Not that she any intention of visiting a crime scene, but the fact that Cris couldn't tell just by looking at her definitely eased some tension.

"It's certainly a neat trick. Have you ever thought of using it to make money? Maybe as a P.I. Being able to tell where someone was could get you a lot of money. More then whatever the police are paying."

Cris waved a dismissive hand as Cleo mentioned using her ability to become a private investigator. There were many things she could have chosen to do given her level of intelligence, but nothing held her attention as much as being a Detective.
"Money is not the driving factor in what I decided to do. Sure it would be more money, but it also could complicit me in various crimes that could also be happening."
An amused smile slowly crept on her face. Followed by a single chuckle like huff. Her eyes cut down to her chair and she placed hands on top of the arm rests for emphasis as she spoke.
"Besides, I don't really blend into crowds easy if I needed to follow and watch someone."

Cleo shrugged. She had never really seen the appeal of being a detective, or really any job having to with law enforcement. It didn't even have to do with the money, she just saw it as boring.

"That could work in your favor though, people might underestimate you. Lower their guard." She said when Cris motioned to her wheelchair. "Then again, I suppose that is also what makes you a good detective."

It was certainly a thing that helped her be a good detective. Not only did she have to automatically be better than everyone, criminals tended to underestimate her because she was wheelchair bound. A smile and a chuckle rolled through again.
"It doesn't occur to most that I don't actually have to run people down. Once I know who you are, I send others after you. My job is done at that point."
Cris had her close calls however. There were a few instances that she came in on people in the act and they had rushed her, forcing her to defend herself. Those certainly were scary times, but they were few and far between.
