"They are a team after all." Cleo said. "Maybe spending all that time together helps them work together? That, or the winners pool is just that good."

Slowly, she'd nudge her half empty drink towards Cris. As much as she didn't want to admit she couldn't stomach it, "If you want the rest of my drink, it's yours. After all, you seem to like it."

"I feel being in the winners circle enough appreciate issues. If they weren't, I doubt Kek would continue to deal with Alyx and not put him out an airlock."
A small chuckle finished her sentence as Cris eyed the glass nudged her way. Smirking, she looked back up to Cleo.
"I guess it takes a particular palate. Let me get you something else."
Cris was enjoying her time with Cleo. It wasn't often anyone actually sat down with her on their own time.

Cleo nodded. "At the end of the day, all we can do is guess. The only one who has the answers is Kek, and I doubt she'd be willing to share." Cleo said with a shrug. Besides, who was she to judge? As long as they won, and could make her money, she could care less about why they stayed together as a team.

She snorted and shook her head when Cris smirked. "Don't give me that look. You said they have Long Island Iced Teas here? One of those would be great for washing the taste out." Having spent most of her time in the narrow reality in and around New York, and the Northeast, she had a soft spot for the drink.

Cris chuckled thinking about how Kek might respond to the question. Many different scenarios passed through her mind, as was normal, but they all came back to roughly the same answer, though the few that didn't were pretty amusing even if unlikely.
"Well I don't exactly see Kek having a crush on Alyx or anything, but stranger things have happened."
Nodding to Cleo, Cris ordered her a Long Island which came relatively quickly. Being one of the staples, it was easy to whip up quickly. It was set in front of Cleo as the waiter passed by. Cris smiled.
"On me. For being a good sport and choking through most of the other one."

Cleo laughed at the thought of Kek having a crush on Alyx. "If that's true, then I think Kek might have missed her chance. Alyx has a girlfriend." She said.

When her drink arrived, Cleo took a drink of it, trying to wash the taste of her other drink out of her mouth. After a moment, she remembered where she was. "Thank you." Cleo said, with a relieved smile.

Cris perked an eyebrow up and smiled. The infamous ladykiller himself found someone that tied him down? No way. It was too poetic that as his fame started growing he was taken off the market.
"Is that so? Well I'm sure many will be disappointed across the galaxy."
Watching Cleo enjoy the new drink, Cris covered her face and held back a laugh. Cleo had tried to force down the heart apple cocktail and it was obvious how much she didn't enjoy it based on the reaction to the long island.
"You don't have to pretend you can drink something if you don't enjoy it around me. I am pretty good at reading people."

Cleo

Cleo chuckled at Cris's reaction. "I never knew he was so popular. It was actually another blue that got him too." She said, flicking her hair back for emphasis.

She shook her head when Cris said she didn't have to force herself to drink something she didn't like. "Eh, call it a competitive streak. I hate losing at anything. Which is great when you're gambling. But when it comes to things like that." She motioned towards the half empty drink. "It's hard to swallow my pride and admit I can't stomach it. It feels like admitting defeat."

Cris nodded and then chuckled as she mentioned who scooped up the hotshot pilot. If he wasn't that popular in all actuality, he played it off on the cameras really well.
"Oh? One in your posse nabbed him?"
Another blue was a giveaway that Cleo knew the person. The emphasis with the hair told her that they each would know it was directed at the other if they were referred to as a blue.
"Well don't think of it as admitting defeat as it is shifting to a winning strategy. Can't win while drinking that, change to something you can drink to avoid losing."
Shrugs and finishes off her drink before moving Cleo's old cocktail over.

Cleo

Cleo nodded. "Anne.. Skijekastead.. Wait, no." Cleo said, butchering Annes last name. "Blue hair, Swedish, dresses for winter? Ring any bells?" Hopefully Cris could recognize who it was, since Cleo had no hope of saying her name.

She wasn't sure if she should laugh or shake her head when Cris said to think of it as switching to a winning strategy. "Still feels like admitting defeat though. I did choke down most of it, like you said. To come so close to finishing it, almost makes it worse."

Cris perked her eyebrows up at the butchering of the name. It was a valiant effort, but still a whiff. She was pretty sure who Cleo was referring to, and as she continued to describe her, Cris was certain of who it was.
"Ah yes. I've met Anne. So she's the lucky one that roped him in? Good for her, he's gotta be a handful."
A small amused head shake came with a smile. She picked the drink up taking a longer than normal swig before setting the glass down and smacking her lips with a refreshing sigh.
"Man is that tasty."
The smile was slowly growing as she tried to hold back from laughing, knowing she was only rubbing it in.
