He was silent as the Nurse rattle on about how his arm was broken but spoke up when she suggested that he had regenerative powers.

"I'm not really, I can just choose to reverse all damage done to people once a day." Victor said awkwardly."Wait, what sort of side effects?"

Victor, now feeling very conflicted as to have it in a sling or not, was looking around the room when some motion caught his eye. It was Nova, she had moved to another Hospital bed, across the room, but she jumped back up after leaning on the wall.

What happened? Victor wondered. There was a look of pain on her face, and he knew what it was. When he had used his power to get her away from the Bully, she was pushed down. It had to have hurt her back.

"Oh, well you probably aren't one to be hurt by it then, hun." The nurse said, only a little bit reassuringly. "And it's very unusual for it to happen, but sometimes it does. Like an allergy or something. The healing in the body and the medicine clash and there's not much research done on it but that's just how it is. For a broken bone, we wouldn't be using it unless you were sure you wouldn't react. Never mind, hun. We'll just fix it up with a sling."

With that, the nurse ducked down and searched through a cupboard for some material for the sling. Unable to find any, she huffed and exited the room in search for some. This left Victor and Nova alone in there.

Careful not to lean back onto the wall again, Nova looked over at Victor and smiled a little bit. He was being so brave for a guy who had broken a bone, and all she had was a few bruises. "So- what do you think of the nurse?" If she was being completely honest, Nova would have described her as strange at best. At least she was doing her job, she guessed.

Well, with that possibility, Victor was definitely taking the sling.

As the Nurse left the room, he again turned to Nova, who was faintly smiling. She was trying to make conversation, so he gladly joined in. The nurse just seemed a bit too motherly to him.

"I'm not sure really, she stopped using 'hun' as much, so that's something. but are you okay?" Remembering her movement from earlier, he had to know if it was just a bruise or much worse.

Nova giggled. "I guess not, she is a little strange, even my my measures, if you ask me." She had seen many strange things since arriving on Earth and a nurse was probably one of the more normal things she had seen. They had nurses on her planet too. But even so, the whole demeanor of her was just slightly discomforting, she had to admit. Forcing a smile, she continued, "At least you are going to get a sling for your injury now though. Sorry again for that." She knew she should not be apologising so much, but she still felt like she was the one causing those around her to be hurt.

Quickly, Nova looked up, correcting her posture and saying in a much too cheerful voice, "Yes, yes, of course I am okay. Why would I not be okay? It is you who is not okay." She then sighed deeply and admitted, "Okay, yes I got a few bruises from falling onto my back but they are fine. I think I got very lucky compared to you as far as injuries go." She proceeded to jump off of the bench to show Victor that the formerly light green skin on her back was now plagued with dark khaki-colored splotches. The bruise looked bad, for a bruise, but felt alright and was definitely preferable to a broken bone.

"Well, she is strange." it was weird, all these people on Manta Carlos, and here they were complaining about a nurse. And now she was saying sorry again! "it's okay, really." Nova had no reason to be upset.

"Well, bruises aren't that bad." He agreed.Victor watched as she shuffled around, moving towards him to show her bruises. Slowly while she was turned around, he reached out with his good arm to within a few inches of her back and quietly he willed his power to undo the damage. Maybe it was cheating, but it was the least he could do, considering how unlike her, he was responsible for the others damage.

Nova laughed. Victor was cool, she thought, and maybe even one of the less strange people on Earth despite the whole super fast time stuff. She wanted to become friends with him. If that was possible, after the strange day they had. As well as finding some money and buying a phone, which was high on her to-do list, she wanted to somehow find a way to spend some more time with him. Preferably out of the sick room.

As Nova turned, she did not realise what Victor was doing, but she felt something. She thought it was a tingling sensation, faint enough for her to question whether or not she actually felt it, and then nothing. It was the strangest thing. But since unless she pressed down on the bruises she could not feel them, she had no idea what had happened. Turning around and smiling a little, she returned other place on the other side of the room. Not thinking, she rested against the wall. No pain. What?

Her hand raised to her back and pushed. Hard. No pain whatsoever. Looking over her shoulder, the bruises were gone. She knew they were not imaginary. Double-checking first, she looked at Victor and said, "They were there. I swear they were." She looked wide-eyed at him. What if he did not believe her. What if... what if it was Victor that made them go away?

"...Did you...?" No. That was impossible. But he did have superspeed...

At that moment, the nurse returned with a roll of cloth. She once again busied herself looking through a cupboard to find scissors.

She seemed a little shocked at the disappearance of her bruises, Staring Wide-eyed at him, Victor just laughed at her. "Yeah, it's the second part of my power."

While he couldn't rewind time, he could rewind a objects timeline, like the bruises. He actually rewound her entire body's timeline, so anything since yesterday, like a tattoo or injuries, just disappear.

Victor heard the nurse walk in but didn't take any notice. Instead, he just leant back onto the bed, keeping his arm close to his body.

Nova was actually speechless. She had never had anything like this done to her before. The experience was not only new, but a good sort of new, something she had not had much of in the past. She smiled.

"W-wow. You can... Heal? If you can heal, why is your arm still..." She motioned at his arm held against his chest. "Well, broken? If you could heal my back, why would you not heal that?" She had not heard of such a power before and was surprised by it. But she had to wonder why he could not do the same do his much more severe injury. Was it a limitation.

"Anyway, thankyou. So much. For- for everything really. I am actually really grateful." She could not thank him enough for saving her multiple times throughout the course of the day. Somehow, he was the one who ended up hurt. As always, she thought. She never got hurt herself.

The nurse approached Victor with cloth now. She unrolled a fair amount of it and snipped it off with scissors. "Alright hun, I'm going to move your arm a tad. It might hurt a bit."

With that warning, she bent his elbow into a right-angle so that she could wrap the arm with cloth. She paused to make sure Victor was alright.

Nova watched, interested, as Victor was treated. She had never seen a broken bone before.

"Well, I healed myself earlier, and I have a limit of one per day." It wasn't that common a power, so he couldn't blame her for not knowing about its limits.

Victor blushed a bit when she thanked him. It was much better than apologising. "You're welcome."

As the Nurse moved his arm without warning, he winced. It hurt a lot, obviously. Try to give me some warning next time, Victor thought to himself.

While his arm was being wrapped in cloth, Victor pulled out his phone with his other hand (thankfully he was ambidextrous) and looked at the notification on the screen. He had a class in about twenty minutes. Would a broken arm get him out of it?

"...Oh," she said. Thinking for a moment about the meaning of it all, she continued, "So, one heal per person per day?" She asked.

Nova actually had no clue what magic really was until that day. She had never encountered it before Manta Carlos and, being her first day, she was not familiar with the place. It was very new, mildly scary and slightly confusing. Oh well, she thought, I'll get used to it.

Victor's face went red. Well, his cheeks went a little bit pink anyway. Why was that? Nova had pink on her cheeks all the time, but that was permanent. Victor's pick appeared and then disappeared as quickly as it came.

The nurse had had no choice but to hurt him a little bit. She then took the bandage, continuing with her job and wrapped it around his arm before tying it behind his shoulder in a big white knot of cloth.

Nova did not like the look of the sling. To her, it seemed like it would hurt his neck and just be a pain. She felt sorry for him. Really sorry.

"You know hun, you can actually take the rest of the day off school if you want a medical note for that?" The nurse said, ending her statement in a questioning tone. She looked back to Nova and shook her head. "No excuse for you I'm afraid. It's off to school for you in less than half an hour, hun."

Nova sighed. Maybe she should have kept the bruises.
