Maddie had been up all morning making blueberry and banana muffins. She hoped they liked them because that was seriously the only muffins she knew how to make. That may have sounded silly, but it totally wasn't. Shut up.

She knew where Malvoes' dorm was (from the outside, at least). It still took her awhile to find the room, though. She had knocked on several doors and gotten them wrong. To the annoyed people, she offered muffins. Say goodbye to 1/4 of her muffin basket.

Finally, she was sure she had found the right one and gently tapped the door with her knuckles three times. She had waited and hour and a half after her classes before coming over, so she was hoping they would all be there.

She was holding the basket so it would be one of the first thing seen when the door was open.

Malvoes was making sure the room was tidy, his bed and the other miscellaneous furniture in their living space were what he was taking care of leaving the kitchen to Kaize and Maxwell to make sure the room and bathroom were clean.

He wanted it to be clean for Maddie, not just the fact that his roommates were meeting a friend of his but because it was also the first guest they had in their shared home. Presentation was a big deal to Malvoes, at least his home was his appearance was his shabby usual self.

He'd finish up and call to the other, "How's it going guys?" Assuming everything was alright he'd take a seat and wait for her, did he give her the dorm number? He was almost positive that he did, ah well, they'd find out eventually.

And eventually came sooner than later since a few minutes when he heard three knocks at the door, he'd turn to Kaize and Maxwell and smile, "Show time boys."

He'd get up and answer the door, considering she was his friend, and he was greeted by the sight of a large muffin basket. He'd grab onto it and lift it from her hands, "You know Maddie, this is almost as large as you are. Welcome to our dorm, come show yourself in, I'll set these down near the kitchen area and Kaize and Max can introduce themselves."

He'd take the basket and set it on the counter that separated the kitchen and the living area.

Max sat in the sofa in the living room, feet resting on the coffee table. He looked a mess, shirt buttoned up all wrong and half tucked, one sleeve rolled up. This was how he usually looked on days he didn't go out. So, there he sat, flipping through tv channels and munching on chips, and generally being a mess, likely to the frustration of Malvoes.

While he didn't care too much that his roommate was having company, he simply couldn't be bothered to change the way he thought and acted to impress a guest; He was a slob, through and through.

When Malvoes spoke, Max perked up immediately, shocked out of his trance-like state, wrenching his eyes from Gordon Ramsey shouting about how some poor kid's steak was so rare he wanted to throw a masterball at it.
"Malvoes, can I cook dinner?" He would plead, glancing back at the tv again.

When they heard the knock on the door, and Malvoes spoke again, Max stood up quickly, a little too quickly, actually, looking nervously at the window. "Wait, does that mean 'The guest is here,' or 'There's a giant monster to kill..?' Or... Both?" He asked confusedly.

Kaize would stretch his hands over his head. He had done his part, cleaned what he deemed to be his portion of the house. Of course, his portion of the house was almost all of it, excluding the sofa that Max currently resided on. He was fine with living in a pigsty, until someone came over. Then it was an emergency.

After cleaning, Kaize had taken a spot next to Maxwell on the couch, staring longingly at the television that he couldn't see. At the mention of cooking dinner, Kaize would snap back to reality, tearing his eyes away from the TV, where Chef Ramsay was yelling at a kid for having mushrooms so undercooked, they were still telling him the princess was in another castle. Kaize would rise up above the couch, raising his hand to Malvoes.

"I think I should cook dinner, Malvoes." Kaize would say. Hearing the knock at the door, Kaize would take action and jump up and over the back of the sofa, rolling forward and standing beside Malvoes. He would brush himself off and nod to his roommate.

As Malvoes took the giant basket to the counter, Kaize would walk forward and extend his hand. "Hi, nice to meet you. My name's Kaize. Kaize Asura." After shaking the girl's hand, Kaize would walk back to the TV and lean on the back of the sofa.

"Hearing the knock at the door, Kaize would take action and jump up and over the back of the sofa, rolling forward and standing beside Malvoes." << Holy shit

Maddie grinned, happy to have the basket taken from her hands.

"Yeah, but it's a good thing I made so much otherwise they'd have all been gone before I got here. I had to give tons of them out to people."

Maybe had wasn't the right word. She didn't have to, but she'd have felt terrible had she not done it.

She stepped inside, peering around the dorm. It was bigger than her's and...well, boyish? Was that the correct description? Seemed legit to her.

When she looked forward, there was a hand in front of her. Okay, either this guy was a ninja (he had swords, right?) or she was more oblivious than she realized.

Maddie shook his hand meekly. Despite her earlier excitement, her voice became modest in the presence of the new man. "It's nice to meet you Kaize, I'm Maddie Lennox."

She hadn't looked at Maxwell until Kaize went and leaned against the couch. She wished Malvoes was still by her side because she felt too visible standing here and awkwardly shifting from foot to foot.

She had been excited to meet Mal's roommates, and she still was, but she couldn't manage to say anything. She must have looked silly just standing there, holding her arm and trying desperately to look anywhere but at Kaize and Maxwell.

How could she so often forget about her crippling timidity?

Mal would rejoin Maddie after placing the muffin basket on the counter. He glanced to the tv as Gordon Ramsay was yelling at some girl about her plate being so oily that BP is delivering a formal apology for it. He'd give Maddie a smile and place a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"Well, this is our dorm, you met Kaize, the bump on the log over there is Maxwell, careful he bites." Giving Maddie a conspiratorial wink.

"Kaize, what were you wanting to cook?" He was usually the chef for the three of them, so it was interesting hearing Kaize want to cook, and he was curious on whether to be relieved or scared.

Max scowled at Kaize when he also asked to cook food, and then at Malvoes when he seemed to just ignore Max entirely, save to throw a casual jeer. It reminded him of his time as a slave, going unnoticed and unheard. Max shook his head, trying to push the images from his mind.

His original plan had been to wait for the traffic in their relatively small living area to clear before going to shake her hand himself, but then Kaize tried rolling over the couch like a character from The Office trying parkour, and Max knew it was time to one-up. He placed both hands on the back of the couch he was sitting in, pushing up and lifting himself up from the couch, flipping once, twice, three times backwards, landing by Malvoes, before attempting to snatch up the basket of muffins.

Not breaking his stride, Max would toss the muffins into the air and go airborne once more, backflipping three more times over the counter and catching the basket, setting it neatly on the counter, having not disturbed anything in the room, not even a single dish or paper. Recovering his momentum, Max jumped back over the counter, tumbling forwards and flipping two more times before sticking the landing, sticking his tongue out at Kaize just as Gordon Ramsey commented about a poor chef using so much Thyme that Doctor Who appeared to save the day.

Holding out his hand casually, Max would offer to shake hands with Maddie.
"I'm Max..." He said, tilting his head slightly. "You look familiar, have I met you before?" He asked confusedly, inadvertently breaking the fourth wall.

Maddie was staring wide-eyed when Max landed and held his hand out to her. She looked from his face to his hand as her face reddened. " Was Max the one with the gun? Was that what Mal had told her the night before?

"Nice to meet you Max, erm, you just did some Matrix stuff." She shook his hand, her grip very light. Was he trying to show off to her? Is that what boys did? Maddie didn't spend a whole lot of time in groups of boys. Why did two of them want to cook so bad? She was very confused.

"I think I would have remembered if we'd met before," she smiled nervously. "If you do stuff like that often?" She glanced at Malvoes to supply her answer. Did Max usually show off like that? Or move like that?
