Penelope's smirk grew and she leaned up, lifting her veil just enough to leave a blood red lipstick stain on Charlie's jawbone.

"You might have something special, eh? Well that makes two of us then, I guess."

She ran a hand up her thigh, tugging at one of the pleats of her dress just enough to show off her pale, bare ankle.
"My favorite skin suit. She can be a little dull, but I love being able to interact with the real world. To taste and feel. Do you like it?"

Twintails, Cat mask, Pink Ballgown
The fact that she was going to a masquerade, just for the sake essentially performing the same endeavor she dealt with every day might have seemed a bit ridiculous to anyone who knew her, but most definitely not something out of character. She appreciated a good challenge, heck, she might even succeed at something for once, if not, at least she could entertain herself.

The girl wore a mask resembling a cat, covering only the upper half of the face. It was the same color as her pink ball gown with rose detailing. Her hair was done up in pigtails, spiraling down, with her hanging over the mask. It was strange to be all dressed like this, even if every else felt the same way.

She walked in with her hands covering her otherwise unexposed mouth, stifling the oncoming giggles, heels clicking along with her. There was a cheeky nature to the girl, flushed cheeks and a smug grin on her face even though the ball had only begun, there was a lot on her mind, and even more to do. The scent of pumpkins was overwhelming, music melodic and inviting, she was tempted to dance along, with the knowledge that it could be disastrous.... But if she had a partner...

For the time being she resided in a nearby the buffet and drinks, propping herself against the wall, on the look out for anyone who may peak her interest.

Charlie could feel the warm lips on his jawbone, and the small lipstick stain left when they departed. He pulled out a tiny bottle from inside his jacket. Inside was a small drop of jet black liquid, liquid which fought to escape the bottle, but was kept in by the cork

"Pure concentrated liquid fear" he said, shaking the bottle. He had read that nightmares, such that Penelope was, loved the stuff. He smiled, remembering the stain on his jawbone as he leaned in, closer to the side of her head, and whispered into her ear "and as for the meat suit" he took one bony hand and ran it down her back, mimicing a pattern he had performed earlier, inside his own head "i love it." He planted the lips of his cold skull on her neck, and kissed her.

He tilted his head curiously at the young woman as she bumped into him, "yes, it seems like quite the event, a chance to dance and enjoy the night." Taking a single step back, and gave a small bow, "it's a pleasure to meet you," he said his finger tapping the side of his mask, indicating he intended to keep his name a secret for now. "I've been looking forward to this ball, I'd heard it's quite popular."

As the crowd around them shifted, he stepped a bit closer, gently placing his hand on her shoulder he guided her to the right as a few larger guests quickly walked through the now vacant spot. "It seems some refuse to watch where there going though," he hadn't even turned to see them coming, but he'd saved her from a nasty bump.

"If we stand still for to long that'll become a common event," smiling, he offered her his hand, "so would you like to dance?" He was a skilled dancer, yes come very prepared for the ball.

Penelope shivered at the kiss to her neck, more of a nip for how cold it was, and wrapped her slender arms around her date's neck.

"Liquid fear, huh? You do know how to charm a girl, professor Rotmoore."

Tugging at the collar of his suit jacket, Penelope lifted herself up as if to press her lips to his skull once again but then shoved him rather playfully and took a small leap back, laughing.

Penelope had leaped back, the veil re-covering the scarlet lips in a shroud of white eyes. Charlie had felt her breath, for a fraction of a second on his face

"Well if that's how you want to play it" he said, coyly, and stuck out his tongue. Or he would have done if he was in his glamour. As he was just a skull at present, nothing happened. Which was annoying. He folded his arms in a look of mock sterness, before breaking the stony outlook and laughing. The woman was just the same, whether she was wearing a 'meatsuit' or inside his head. Like a whirlwind.

"Oh, excuse my clumsy footwork," she apologized, gathering her dress's skirt up. Really, she had come very close to actually tripping... but she was too good in heels to have done that. Looking back up to reveal a coy grin, she continued. "Likewise, stranger," she purred, she too tapping the side of her own mask.
"I've heard it is - they really put a lot of work into the decorations and aesthetic, didn't they? It looks absolutely amazing, in my opinion - oh."
He'd reached for her shoulder during her rambling, and was now guiding her to the right, as a few beautifully-dressed guests walked right past her. Had she still been standing there, she would have had a real trip, or even worse, someone may have tread on her dress. Looking back up to face the masked man, she smiled.
"Oh, thank you. I guess I wasn't minding my surroundings. Well - only one way to fix that." And, before she could, he kindly offered - a dance. He had wit, too.
"Of course," she obliged with a smile, taking his hand.

He lead her into a dance, a simple but elegant one, he rarely got to use this skill set, but they were turning out to be very useful and enjoyable, more so than he'd expected. "Yes, it's lovely. I was originally a bit uncertain whether or not I'd come, I'm happy I did." They continued to sway to the music, his movements synching perfectly with hers.

"This whole island is quite unique, I've enjoyed exploring it, though there's still much to see," he grinned a bit, "you never know what you'll see, who you'll meet, perhaps that could be said about many places, but this island holds so much more than most."

The dancers around them continued as well, but his focus was on the girl in front of him, "but what of you?" he tilted his head curiously, "what brought you here, to this ball?" He couldn't help but be interested in his new, beautiful, companion. @Ashes

Amidst all the other couples out on the dancefloor, they chose a spot, and he began to lead her into a simple dance - nothing she couldn't handle. Although, she noticed, he seemed to be better on his feet than most. She supposed that was because of his overall charm and confidence, but she couldn't be too sure. With every step, the young woman followed along, blonde hair shifting and tickling her neck. Along they went.
"Yes, indeed!" she replied to his remark. "Everyone has magic here, and no one's mocked for it - so my brother can live a good life now." Though she said this all casually, it was obvious it was important to her - her brother. "And, well, it's an island. Lots of things to do, places to see, people to meet...."
A left twirl, a step to the right to avoid another pair of dancers.
"I'm sure you'll relate," she grinned. "I came here with my brother - well, really, for my brother. Mom was getting worried, so I decided I'd come here to keep an eye on him."
Maybe it was just her, but this mystery man was handsome...

White Hitaikakushi and One Eyed Mask girl

Outfit:

Mask:

She always delighted in masked festivities, for she adores seeing all of the masks being presented during such gatherings. So when they learned of this event it was decided they would insert themself into the party.

So they put the disguise of a young petite girl with pale skin and short straight black hair. This appearance she stole from a school girl dressed for a school festival many decades ago. It was perfect replicate of that girl except for the face which she could not reproduce and was devoid of any facial features. To counter this, while she could have wore any of the floating mask that would accompany her, she decided to don on a plain white mask with a single eye painted onto its face. This new mask she procured from on of the many Halloween stores that popped up during this time. As a menreiki she can't leave her true masks behind so her other 8 Japanese masks float close around her legs, each leaking a purplish mist from its back. Back in her native lands this would have caused her issue but on this island she found, most people think of it as a novelty and nothing more.

Once she had finally made it to the party, she slipped her way into the ballroom and walked about. She a bit aloof, more of spectator than a participant for she was too immersed in seeing all of the wonderful masks the guest of the party were wearing.
