He wasn't planning on drinking tonight. Alcohol never really appealed to him, he liked his senses to be sharp. Keep an eye on the prize, as it were.

And just across the way, between two crowds of mingling ball-goers, he saw quite the prize.

She was barefoot, in a white dress with hair that matched. She was having fun, it seemed, and there was something enchantingly familiar about her.

Stepping over to her, he held out his hand and gave a gentlemanly bow.

"Enjoying the ball so far, madame? Pardon my forwardness, but you look divine."

Black Suit, Red Tie, Skull... mask?

He wore an immaculate jet black suit, with a white shirt beneath, ontop of which sat a blood red tie. His mask was spectacular, a human skull, topped with a golden crown which appeared to poke into the bone of the skull.

The mask glowed with a strange blue light.

It was incredibly realistic, it almost seemed real, the curves of the skull. The mysterious man even had skeletal gloves to match, which appeared to be very tight fitting. They, like the mask, almost looked real. But after all, this was a masquerade ball, people dressed up. There a pair silver cufflinks in the shape of a skull adorning the sleeves, and a tiepin in the shape of a grasping skeletal hand.

He scanned the room, looking for the woman who he was meeting. He was sure he would see her somewhere, innumerable white eyes. It was her aestheic after all. He chuckled. She was probably the only person, except one plucky student, who would recognise him like this. After all, she had seen him looking like this before.

Diane was leaning against a wall on the left side of the room, trying to avoid as many people as possible at this current time, she didn't want to be here, by now her club would be abandoned and she could have drunk the emptiness away, her mask was a simple one, a half silver, and gold mask, she hadn't even bothered putting it on outside because she ha only put it on 10 seconds ago when Evelyn forced it onto her face, "Doesn't know her place," She said glaring at her as she walked over to her, dressed in some form of a dress and her mask was very thought out, making sure to reveal only her eyes and mouth which glowed a deep red.

"Come on, you're not spending your time drinking and feeling sorry for yourself," She said standing next to her as someone smirked at her, giving it back, "I'll make sure to remember that," She said as she looked down at her clothes, black legging jeans with her usual boots and push up bra shirt. Thinking she should have worn something more skimpy and disgusting to make her not bring her here.

Stepping out into the ballroom at last felt so nice.
Out across the ballroom, she could see a few people conversing and dancing. One was barefoot... There was someone with a skull mask... Ooh. The person that she'd passed just now had on a lovely lilac mask. Quite nice.
She adjusted her lacy mask, in a dark-golden color, and elegantly click-clicked her way over to the ballroom floor. Marveling at the way the room seemed to embody autumn itself. Why, she could almost taste the refreshing coolness and the warm scent of pumpkin spice.
It almost felt like.... Well, it felt like that fall day all those years ago.
Ooh, maybe her brother would come! He'd certainly be welcome, right? She'd invited him, but the redheaded guy had cited something something homework. Oh well. His loss.
The young woman twirled on the dancefloor, enjoying the way the sheerness and the length of her dress spread out into a little burnt-orange circle around her.

He walked in with something more ironic than he would have thought, a demon mask adorned with white horns and open eye holes with a closed mouth, a tongue sticking out and making the mask look strange. He had decided to come to see how the festivities were going, trying to find out why everyone had decided to come tonight of all nights.

The orange atmosphere gave a strange feeling as the smell of pumpkins wafted into his nose, the crows that were also placed around the room seemed lifelike, but he couldn't be too sure. The buffet seemed too good to be true as he made his way towards it, casting a look over the selection he was given.

He entered the room, wearing a black three piece suit, white shirt and an electric blue tie, a silver mask covering the majority of his face, shimmering blue as the light caught it. It was a fairly simple mask with ornate patterning around the eyes and allowing his fringe to flow over the top of it. Looking around, everyone looked so formal; this was not the sort of event he would usually attend but it was a new place so he was trying something new.

He walked over to get a drink and stood to the side, observing. He knew no one, not just because their identities were a secret. Dancing was an option but he thought that dancing alone in an event like this would be strange. Drinking by himself, he kept an eye out for someone to approach.

She giggled playfully offering her hand to the charming young man who had addressed her. She curtsied politely to his bow.

"Divine, you say? Sir, you flatter me."

Her voice was sweet and playful as she looked him over. He had a certain familiarity about him. The way he moved, the way he spoke. The shape of his body. It was something she was familiar with intimately. Of course, they had both gone to the trouble of concealing their own identities, so there was no fun in exposing him now, not this early at least. She wanted to enjoy, hos company in a way she hadn't before.

"I do hope you find the evening enjoyable. I do so love these events, though I must confess it has been a while since I have attended one."

She paused a moment as a grin crossed her soft red lips. Her eyes had a sparkle of excitement that was hard to conceal.

"It appears as though my date for the evening has not arrived. It would be a scandal for a lady such as myself to be seen alone. Perhaps a certain young gentleman would act as my partner?"

Walking up to venue, a rather... possibly over-dressed young man looked around at the festivities. "This is an interesting celebration." He marveled at all the costumes and the decor. Well, as much as he could from the lighting.

It was a good choice on his part to go in a white suit, something to stand out from the regular black. The only things that were black were his shoes and tie as his gloves were also white. He also had a waist-long cape that loosely hung from both shoulders with a matching color scheme. He had black hair tied in a ponytail, with red at the tips, and his mask of choice was a white one that covered the entirety of his face, bedazzled by streaks of grey running down from the right half, over the eye holes.

Now... how would he approach this situation... rather, would he go and talk to random strangers? Hmm, perhaps. It was time to see who was available. He'd need an alias, wouldn't he? Don. Yes, Don would do fine.

"It would be unbecoming of me to leave a lady wanting. Of course I will accompany you."

Taking her hand, he pulled his new dance partner into a close embrace, one hand clasping hers and his free arm snaking around her waist.

"Shall we dance then, until your date comes to spirit you away from me?"

Not really waiting for an answer, he spun around with her and eased into a slow waltz. He wasn't sure how familiar she was with dancing, so he would take it slow with her.

Looking around, Penelope saw her date and abandoned Dr. Hart to his musings about the event's drinks.

She practically glided like a phantom over to the man in the skull "mask", the hint of her crimson stained lips smirking beneath her veil the only tell of emotion.

"Hey there, lover. I'm so glad you could make it. This affair would be awfully dull without you, I'm sure."
