Aspen closed the door behind her gently. It had been her first full days of classes, and she was tired. she wanted to go somewhere quiet, where she could stretch her wings. She looked out. It was a nice view from here, and she figured that she'd come to this place pretty often in the future. To Aspen, the great thing about wings was that she could be athletic and not get hurt. Doing flips and twists were easy, because she knew she could always catch herself. Of course, why do tricks on the ground when you can do them in the air? Many people thought that Aspen was "weak." But, they could really not be more wrong. Although she isn't very strong in her arms, she can carry heavy objects on her back, relying on her wings for transportation. I mean, she had to have been pretty athletic, living in the woods all her life. Running and flipping off trees? Easy. Back flips from the ground. No sweat. But, you'd never see Aspen bragging about it, she's afraid it would make people dislike her.

She walked to the edge and looked around, making sure no one was around. She crossed her arms over her chest, and stood backwards on the edge. She jumped doing a back flip, then making herself as straight as a pencil. She stopped just a few feet before the ground, and flew back up to the roof. 'Oh, that is so much fun' she thought happily. She wished that she could spend the whole day up here, practicing and doing loops and spins. But alas, the whole day could be spent in such away, so she relished this time, right now, to do such things. She decided just to fly around the roof for a little time. She hopped in the air, flapping her wings as a cold breeze blew through. She new the best ways to keep warm, and that's why her jacket was insulated with dandelion fuzz. she button it up the rest of the way, and continued making rounds on the roof. She switched directions, flying backwards. There really was nothing to run into, so she could do it. 'What a nice place' she thought, closing her eyes for a second or two.

Elisha was tired of being around other people. Classes had been long that day and he still knew he had a full set of calculus homework, as well as an essay on Hamlet to proofread. Not to mention exercises from powers class and needing to practice music for band... Professors here wasted no time. He grimaced as he made his way up, up, up the steps and to the roof of the main building. It was usually quiet here, and a good place to come relax. His messenger bag slung from his side and his flute case was in it, but he had little intention of actually practicing up here. Not today, anyhow... the wind was too strong. He continued up to the top of the roof and looked around. Only one other person was in sight, a girl he'd seen in one of his classes before, but he had not actually met her yet.

Not that her being here would change his plans. He had come here not only as an escape, but also to test himself. He took a breath in. The wind smelled good today, unlike most days where it was so littered with smoke or other nasty pollutants. He quickly scanned the horizon. Sure, a high tree would have done the trick, but he had little desire to shed most of the skin off his hands in the process of getting up one of the redwoods. Never mind the fact that there was no good perching branch; they were easily some of the tallest trees in sight, at least from his dorm room window.

With another deep breath, he let himself hover a bit higher off the top of the roof until his feet dangled about a meter in the air. This was quite a bit more than his normal levitation, mostly useful for reaching objects on the top shelf at the library or standing on the kitchen table. Without another glance around, he lifted off, spreading his arms like wings. About ten seconds into flight, he began to panic. Something... or someone... was headed straight his way and he knew he didn't have enough control to change direction. Not at this speed, anyways. Instinctively, he pulled his arms into his body and braced for impact, just in case whoever it was - if he'd been thinking clearly, or at all, he would've realised it was the girl he'd seen earlier - collided.

((It's your choice if you want Aspen to pick up on Elisha's panic... he's broadcasting it pretty strongly right before they collide...))

Aspen was enjoying the wind. It was strong, but she was, in fact, a stronger flyer. She was enjoying the peace and quiet. She was almost sure that she heard the door shut quietly, but maybe she hadn't closed it right, and the wind blew it open. She smiled as she continued her rounds around the roof. Let's see what did she have to do? Calculus proved to be a difficult subject, and she'd just started it. She'd finished her homework for it,however, and now she really only needed to start a report for a book she'd finished in her literature class. But now wasn't the time to think of that. The wind was blowing on her back, and she felt warm and snuggly in her dandelion coat. She sighed as she thought of home, but she was okay for now.

Suddenly she couldn't help but feel as if there was some one else here, some one she hadn't noticed. She had her eyes closed half the time, and the other half she was looking high into the sky. She heard what sounded like heavy breathing, and turned around to see what was going on. "Oof!" She cried as she collided right into some one else. A small sear of pain shot through her as she hit the person full force . She didn't have time to see who or what it was though, because she was spinning rapidly down to the ground. Her wings helped a little, but the shock made her end up spinning to the ground, and she crashed on the roof. She was spread out and she sat up to look around. She couldn't really focus on anything, she was still trying to make the place stop spinning. She wobbled to her knees. "I'm so sorry" she squeaked out, her voice soft and apologetic. She felt terrible for hitting some one. What was she thinking, flying backward. Wait, that meant the other person could fly too. She looked in the other persons direction, not sure what to do.

Apparently the girl hadn't had time to pull out of the way, either, so the boy felt a little less bad about crashing into her. Still... he needed to make sure she was okay, but the shock of crashing into someone else sent him plummeting towards the hard rooftop. Only a couple inches before he actually smacked into the concrete, did he manage to stop, as if suspended by an invisible floor.

Ouch... He rubbed his arm, then after a moment, his cheeks began to turn a bit pink. A moment later, he'd regained his senses enough to survey the scene, check for other people around. He struggled to his feet and brushed his dark clothes off. "Excuse me," he walked over to where the girl was still half-sitting and offered her a gloved hand. "Are you alright?"

'Oh dear, look what you've done being clumsy.' Aspen thought worried. She heard the other person say ouch softly, and she felt terrible for running them over practically. Or colliding, it didn't really matter what you called it, she had knocked him down. The person, by now she figured out it was a guy, walked over to her. She was so upset at herself, she wanted to offer a thousand apologies. She was afraid that that he might be angry, but his voice was soft and not angry sounding. He offered her a hand while he asked her if she was alright.

"Yes I am, I'm really sorry I knocked you over, it was all my fault, I wasn't watching where I was going, and I should have been more careful", she said as he helped her up. She sheepishly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, hoping that her apology would be accepted. Most importantly, though, she hoped he knew that she hadn't meant to knock him over, she never meant to hurt anyone on purpose. She looked up at him nervously as he started to speak, hoping that all would be well. To most people it wouldn't seem like a big deal, but to Aspen, causing some one discomfort was always a big deal.

A hint of a smile touched Elisha's lips. "Perhaps," he replied, his voice a bit dry, but still kind enough. He studied her for a moment. With her long legs, the girl looked to be tall and after a moment, his gaze wandered over to her wings and he couldn't help but stare at them for a moment before regaining his composure. He'd seen something like them, once, but couldn't recall where. Perhaps in a book. He blinked a few times. It was rude to stare and there were plenty of other people who looked somewhat abnormal around campus, so he should not have been at all surprised by the sparkly appendages.

He could feel the wind whistling around the roof and after a moment of silence, well, it was awkward and he frowned. He'd come up here to clear his head, not litter it with more thoughts, more emotions that didn't belong to him. He reached his left hand up to his temple to rub it gently. After a moment, he stopped, glanced over at her and asked, "If you don't mind me inquiring, what brings you up here?"

The guy didn't seem to upset which made Aspen relax a little. She felt a little excited when she remembered that he could fly too. She hadn't met many people, and none of them could fly. But, she was shy around guys. They always seemed a bit scary to her, being bigger and stronger. But, she was a faster flyer than any guys she ever bumped into, so she was always able to escape. Plus, she never ran into any guys around her "village," she was to busy taking care of animals and playing with them. Yep, it was the good life. She looked up at the guy once again as he asked her something. "Oh, well after a long day of classes, nothing is better than stretching my wings and getting some fresh air. It looks like you came to do the same thing?" She asked shyly. She'd never run into anyone so handsome before, it made her excited and nervous at the same time. She never talked to guys, to hopefully she wouldn't mess anything up. She exhaled calmly an bounced a little spreading out her wings, as they rippled in the breeze. It was a beautiful day to fly, maybe, they would fly together. It seemed weird the sensation of talking to some one, but adventurous and fresh at the same time. Maybe this school was good for her.

"To relax and get some fresh air, yes," he admitted, glancing out into the horizon. They still had a few hours of daylight, but he was exhausted. Perhaps it was school finally taking its toll on him or perhaps he had simply been around people too much over the past week. Whatever it was, he couldn't quite tell.

He took a moment and floated closer to the edge of the building. They were several meters up in the air. If a normal human fell from such a distance, then they'd easily be injured badly enough to require a hospital visit. That would hurt quite a bit. Elisha frowned to himself. But neither of them was ordinary, much less human. After all, the girl had giant wings. Come to think of it, he didn't even know her name yet.

"I apologise for my rudeness, but what is your name? I am Elisha." Granted, he could have probably mustered up enough energy and focus to get her name otherwise, but this was much easier... and much more polite. He turned back towards the red-haired girl and floated so that he was now levitating about a meter away from her.

((I'm sorry for the really late reply, but it's here... 0_0))

Aspen nodded as he stated his reasons for being there. Flying o a nice day was quite a refreshing thing. She watched as he floated over to the edge of the building, probably looking ta how high it was. She smiled. Something she did a lot too, out of habit she supposed. It was just so much fun to think she could get down there quickly without being hurt.

"I apologize for my rudeness, but what is your name? I am Elisha."

Aspen looked back up. Oh yea, introducing herself, that would have been a good idea. Sometimes she could such a forgetful silly person. Elisha huh? That was a name she'd never heard before. Mostly because she never had the opportunity to meet new people.

"Oh it's fine, and my name is Aspen, it's nice to meet you Elisha."

As he flew back over to her, she wondered what she looked like when she flew. she'd always watched her family, but she'd never seen herself. Oh well, it was kinda a silly thing to think about anyway. The again, she often thought about silly things. Not really time wasters, but she supposed she should find something more exciting to do. Like visit Rising Moon. It had been a day or two, and she felt bad. She snapped her attention back to the present, she got lost in thought easily.
