Aspen closed the door behind her gently. It had been her first full days of classes, and she was tired. she wanted to go somewhere quiet, where she could stretch her wings. She looked out. It was a nice view from here, and she figured that she'd come to this place pretty often in the future. To Aspen, the great thing about wings was that she could be athletic and not get hurt. Doing flips and twists were easy, because she knew she could always catch herself. Of course, why do tricks on the ground when you can do them in the air? Many people thought that Aspen was "weak." But, they could really not be more wrong. Although she isn't very strong in her arms, she can carry heavy objects on her back, relying on her wings for transportation. I mean, she had to have been pretty athletic, living in the woods all her life. Running and flipping off trees? Easy. Back flips from the ground. No sweat. But, you'd never see Aspen bragging about it, she's afraid it would make people dislike her.
She walked to the edge and looked around, making sure no one was around. She crossed her arms over her chest, and stood backwards on the edge. She jumped doing a back flip, then making herself as straight as a pencil. She stopped just a few feet before the ground, and flew back up to the roof. 'Oh, that is so much fun' she thought happily. She wished that she could spend the whole day up here, practicing and doing loops and spins. But alas, the whole day could be spent in such away, so she relished this time, right now, to do such things. She decided just to fly around the roof for a little time. She hopped in the air, flapping her wings as a cold breeze blew through. She new the best ways to keep warm, and that's why her jacket was insulated with dandelion fuzz. she button it up the rest of the way, and continued making rounds on the roof. She switched directions, flying backwards. There really was nothing to run into, so she could do it. 'What a nice place' she thought, closing her eyes for a second or two.
