"Huh. Don't you want to live somewhere less... creepy? You know, with people and... natural lighting? I can't imagine vampires and werewolves would make good company."

Lei got out of the car and patted Deith's seat clean as best as he could because he wasn't a rude animal. He slung his backpack over his shoulder again and followed Deith to his house.

Deith chuckled. "No, I love it here. I really chose this spot, top of a hill beside the woods..." His voice trailed off a little, getting softer and softer as he started to fumble with the crystal on his choker-like necklace. He shook his head to snap himself out of it. Then patted the hood of his car, before motioning for Lei to follow him to the front door of the house. Behind them, the black car seemed to have vanished.

"Anyway... We'll prepare the water for your practice after you shower. You need to get rid of the sand on you first," he said, his eyes on the key hole as he grabbed his keys from his pocket and unlocked it. After a few moments, he opened it wide, turned the lights on, and invited Lei in with some hand gestures.

The inside was pretty cozy. There was a large fireplace, and some really soft couches around it, a glass center table in the middle. There were paintings on every wall. And the whole room was vibrant and welcoming. "Come in."

Lei watched Deith's face closely. He always seemed more gentle, fond even, when he touched his necklace, as if he was remembering a nicer time. It seemed sensitive, so he wasn't going to pry.

Lei followed him in. He took in his surroundings. It wasn't that bad. Tasteful, even. He was kind of surprised. Deith was full of surprises.

"Nice. Creepy on the outside, cozy on the inside, huh?" He grinned. "Is it... actually a metaphor about you, Deith? Are you secretly all soft and gooey inside!?"

He laughed, shaking his head. "I'm just joking with you, pal."

He pointed at what looked like the bathroom. "This one, right?"

"Yeah, that one," Deith nodded to the short hallway to the left and the door there, as he closed the one they came from. Lei had him grinning again, making him want to laugh, again, at how off the jokes were. "And no, I'm not a softy. Don't mistaken me for one just because I decided to be nice to you. This house has a bit of a story to it, okay?"

He went to the couches after that, wanting to relax a bit after his drive home.

Lei chuckled and whispered "softie" under his breath before disappearing into the bathroom.

Right. The way Lei showered was pretty Spartan — shampoo on head, soap all over, rinse. He didn't take the time to 'relish' it like some people did, and he wasn't about to jack off in some stranger's shower. It felt good to finally be rid of the sand in his ass crack, though.

He dried himself off with one of the towels earlier and hung his clothes to dry. For the moment, he was only wearing a bathrobe and his trunks from earlier. He stepped out and wandered the living room.

"Deith?""

Deith was resting his eyes the whole time and opened them only after hearing his name being called. "Yeah? That was quick," he responded, pushing himself up and out of the four-seater couch. He rubbed his eyes a little. He wasn't sleepy, but being able to rest his eyes felt great. His mind, thankfully, did not wander off somewhere. It was probably a good thing to have company every now and then. "You're already done? Need anything?"

"I..." Lei blushed from embarrassment again. He wasn't one for revealing his own ignorance. He didn't like feeling stupid. "Well, uh... How do I... fill the tub?"

Deith smiled. He considered Lei to be very innocent, in the male's own way, and that made him adore him, slightly. Innocent people were the best kind. He knew Lei was embarrassed, and that only made things better.

"You're fine. Come, I'll show you." He walked past him, patting his head gently before reaching the bathroom. He went for the tub against the far wall and turned its faucets on, one for the cold, and another for the hot water. It was already evening, so he thought it was better to work with warm water. He looked over his shoulder for a moment, just to check if Lei was watching, because if he was then there won't be any need for verbal explanation.

Lei reached for the top of his head where Deith gave him a pat and blushed. God, what was going on with him today? He wondered if he suddenly turned into a blushing waif waiting for her prince to come. Oh, Mr. Deith, sweep me away.

All right. That was worse. Burn that thought with bleach and set it on fire.

He focused on following Deith to the bathroom. As he watched him work, he was surprised at how easy it was. It all seemed like common sense.

"Thanks..." he said meekly. He reached down to test the surface — a tolerable temperature — and got in.

"All right!" He cracked his knuckles. "Time for some practice."

"Right." Deith took one step back to give Lei a bit more space. But he wasn't planning to leave anytime soon, and instead steadied himself there, already watching. Grinning. "I can stay, right? I want to see you turn the water to ice again."
