RE: im going to fight the ENTIRE OCEAN [open]

Lei furrowed his eyebrows. "Weird. But fine, whatever makes you happy, dude."

He took off the bathrobe and dipped his fingers in the water. He didn't mind it when Deith watched him in the ocean because it was in public, but the bathroom was tiny and Lei barely had any clothes on. Not to mention they were alone and far from other people.

He couldn't help it. He blushed, right down to his ears and neck.

Deep breath.

His heart was racing. It felt like his bodily functions were suddenly too loud, so loud they were ringing in his ears, and the beating felt like...

They felt like the ripples in the water.

Right then, a deeper sense of understanding came to Lei. The movements and the water's rhythm were similar. He watched the ripples around his legs, and saw they coincided with the beating of his heart. He executed the movements, but tried to keep in sync with water.

The water began to rise, and he moved them around to turn into a long, snake-like shape that danced around his form and rose up to his chest. He was so thrilled he lost control, and the water fell back into the bathtub and around the floor.

He looked at Deith with wide eyes. "Did you see that!?"

Deith had pulled the small wooden stool in the corner and sat down, assuming that it might take long before Lei does something that could entertain him (excluding the fact that Lei was red as a tomato, which was already amusing by itself). He could already hear the male's heartbeat. He listened, and watched closely, everything else drowned out by the music of moving water synced with the rhythm.

His eyes slightly widened as the water took form and danced around Lei. He stood up from his seat, still grinning, even after the water went back to normal. Green orbs met blue ones, and it wasn't all that hard to see how amazed and proud Lei was of this improvement. Deith was, strangely, just as thrilled.

"Of course I did!" came his reply, a short laughter right after it. His right hand seemed to have moved on its own, since it was already late when he realized he was patting Lei's head again, ruffling his hair even. "That was amazing, I mean it. Much better than this afternoon."

Lei bit his lower lip, feeling his face flush again. He reached up to touch his head. He wanted to say something about he only got this far because of Deith, that his support made him want to be stronger and better, but the words died in his lips.

Just then, he felt the temperature under him begin to rise.

"Fuck." Warm turned to hot and turned to scalding. Lei jumped out of the water, landing on the side of the bath tub. He watched the water bubble intensely before eventually stopping. "Holy shit. What the flip flopping fuck!?"

That was new.

Deith flinched and stepped back again, almost tripping on the stool behind him. "What the--" His eyes went back and forth to Lei and the water. Not knowing what just happened. "Did the water just boil? Lei, are you hurt?" he asked, as he went close again to check Lei for burns. It wasn't like he already cared, but he felt the unfamiliar sensation of worry in his stomach. He didn't like it at all.

"Eugh." Lei clutched Deith's arm as he skillfully evaded the tub full of water. He jumped out. He didn't anticipate the floor would be so slippery, so he reeled back and hit himself on the back of his head.

"Fuck!" He rubbed the area and slid down to the floor so he could reach into the water again. It's hot, but it's not scalding or constantly rising anymore. "Augh, sorry, sometimes water reacts with my emotions. It turns to ice when I'm angry. I don't know what happened here."

Despite the explanation, Deith's furrowed brows did not relax. He blinked, stared at the water for a few seconds, then at Lei, before giving a nod. "I see... So that's what it is," he said. He raised himself and sat on the edge of the tub, lowering a hand to feel the water. It felt like the heat was grabbing at his skin, piercing through. "Hm..." He held a few seconds like that. He smiled, though it was partly a smirk. "If ice means anger, then doesn't that mean you're just really happy right now? You did just make the water dance. I understand the thrill, since that's how I felt when I made an illusion and did not fuck up for the first time."

Lei looked away and grinned nervously. He wasn't about to tell Deith that he had a feeling it was due to infatuation. They had a good thing going. He didn't have a lot of friends and he wasn't about to ruin this by telling Deith he wanted to put his dick in his mouth.

...Bad, bad mental image. Lei grabbed a handful of water and splashed his face with it.

"Yes. T-that's probably it." He swallowed. Time to segue the topic off him. "You can make illusions?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah." Deith pulled his hand out of the water and reflexively wiped it dry on his jeans. "Had a rough time training. But it worked out fine after a couple of years." It wasn't a problem for people to know his abilities. But. He had no plan of telling Lei about the back story, at least the one that tells how he got it. "So... Are you okay? That was a pretty bad slip. Maybe we should hold your practice for now."

Lei scratched the back of his head. "I tend to attract injuries. My mother always told me it was unfortunate that I was born with two left feet."

He understood water a little better now, though. He nodded. "I think... this was the best practice I've had in a while. It'll probably be smart to quit while I'm ahead. Let's go make dinner?"

"Mm. Dinner sounds nice." Deith pulled the tub's plug to drain the water, stood up, and then grabbed Lei's wrist. His grip was surprisingly careful, despite being a hard one at the same time. He smiled, before pulling him to the door. "I'm going to hold you so you don't trip on your two left feet," he said, his tone light. They made their way to the kitchen and dining area, which were on the other side of the floor, separated from the living room by a bare doorway.

It was a pretty simple kitchen. There were the usual appliances such as a stove, a fridge, an oven, and the usual kitchen and dining utensils. The sink and the cooking area were in the far corner of the room, adjacent to a curtained window. Cabinets above. There was a small square table in the middle of the room, wooden. And chairs, of course. That was pretty much it.

Deith let go then, and stepped aside to let Lei move around. "By the way, I don't have too many ingredients in my fridge. Just saying."
