Savannah was struck with awe as she entered the forbidden forest with Claire. She felt pretty safe, Claire had her bow and arrows, a knife and her powers, and Savannah had her sling shot and powers. Her heart pumped wildly as she stepped into the place, covered by a canopy of tree branches. It was pretty dark. "Should have brought my flashlight" she murmured to herself. She wasn't sure of what she would find in this place, and she hoped that the beasts that roamed here were hibernating. Of course, do abnormal creatures hibernate? She knew a lot about animals, but she wasn't too sure about these animals. That was a topic of books she'd forgotten to get when she was at the library. 'Meh, I suppose that gives me an excuse to go back' she thought to herself casually. "Okay, I think we should go a little deeper, and then we can bury it." She smiled at this crazy idea of hers. 'This picture will be getting its just desserts,' she thought happily. "Although I feel safe here, I'd prefer not to run into any creatures, because I wouldn't want to be forced to use weapons on them, so lets be as quiet as possible. Of course" She said whispering "I know you already know this, with all your outdoor experience." She crept through quietly, looking for a safe place to start digging. The pine needles made a nice bed for critters, and a quiet way of transportation for the girls.

Although Savannah knew the forest was dangerous, she also knew that there were a lot of rebels and adventurous people in the school that probably came out here. The fact that it appeared quiet and empty gave her a slightly nervous feeling. Who knew what person-or creature- could be stalking them, watching them, and waiting to attack. 'You have force fields, and that can help protect you. And as long as you block the creatures path from getting to Claire, she can be safe too.' She pushed the slight fear out of her mind and stopped. "This looks like a good place to bury it." They were pretty far into the forest, and she was sure that if some one was around, they'd know it, or the person would show themselves. She dropped to her knees on the ground, and let her backpack slide down to the forest ground. She unzipped it and rummaged through it, moving some things in order to get to the spade. She pulled it out, smiling, and said " we can take turns digging, until we feel that the hole is deep enough to bury such wretchedness." She felt a surge of happiness and silliness shoot through her. She set the card on the ground, so she could start the work As she started digging, she let out a small giggle at herself and flung the dirt in the air, randomly. "I'm glad we can do this Claire, I haven't had this kind of fun in a while" she said smiling. She was glad to be reunited with her roommate, and the first friend she'd made at the academy. She stopped shoveling and stood up. "Your turn' she said holding out the spade to her. She shivered and pulled her coat tighter around her, and adjusted the beanie on her head. She was glad she'd worn that instead of her cowgirl hat, because she didn't want it to get ruined. The hat meant a lot more to her than most people thought, mostly because they didn't understand the depth of its true meaning.

It was nice out, and Claire felt intensely better as she got into the forest. This was her true home. She felt safe and happy here, already. " This is going to be fun." She said smiling. Looking around, smelling the air, she was happy that they had decided to do this, even though it wasn't for the same reasons that Claire wanted to get out for. "We will forget about all of this, and it will be better." She wasn't quite sure that what she had just said made any sense, but it didn't matter to her. Claire hoped that no one was following them, or that anyone could see them, because she didn't really want to explain to anyone right now as to what they were doing.

They walked for a while, but Claire didn't mind it, she was used to it. They finally got to far enough into the forest so that they could start to dig. Savannah went first, but not long after it was Claire turn. "Alright." She grabbed the spade. "I'm glad that I was here to do it with you." Claire smiled a bit in relief. She hadn't done something like this ever. A few minutes later she handed Savannah the spade. "I'll keep watch okay? Until my next shift." Claire went out a little bit away from Savannah, to look around the area. They didn't exactly want everything to know what they were doing.

Savannah knew that Claire was having a good time. 'It would be better if the weather was warmer though' she thought. But, she loved the winter, especially when it snowed. It was fun to have snow ball fights and make snow angels with-well,they guy who was on the card. James, and now she was burying the picture of him and his fiance. She didn't feel guilty. She wasn't completing destroying it like she could, by tearing it up, or burning it. She knew it was wrong, but she felt as if she had a right to be mad. 'But, you don't really, at least not to stray mad.' She smiled as Claire gave her back the spade. She nodded in agreement to the suggestion of keeping guard, and she went back to digging. In the summer it would have been done in a jiffy, but it was winter, and the ground was hard and cold, making the digging slower and more difficult.

"Can't bury out memories in the past, instead we have to dismiss them one by one," she muttered to herself. 'Well, I'm dismissing them. Maybe James and I ll make amends, but for now, he's getting married, end of memory. And now, I can literally bury the reminder of it. I'm pretty sure a lot of other things will remind me of it.' She thought as she continued to dig. She looked at the hole. It seemed to meet her standards. "Hey Claire, I think we're ready to place it in and bury it!" she said as she wiped hr hands on her pants.

There was no one out there, or not anyone that she could see at least. As Claire scanned, it made her happier and happier. Remembering the days that she would spend countless hours looking for things, scanning and scavenging. It was something that she enjoyed, that made her happy. Claire sighed as she heard Savannah say something.

Savannah had said another thing before that, though she didn't recall what it was."Do you think so?" Claire said as she walked back to her. "Maybe it should be a bit bigger? or further down? I can do it if you want." Pausing, Claire looked down, leaning over the hole. Savannah had done a good job. "Let's make it a bit deeper. We don't want anyone to ever find this." Claire looked over at Savannah. It was her say, being that it was her photo that she was burying. If she says that it is alright, then who is she to judge? "Or are you good with it? I mean it doesn't really matter either.

Savannah smiled as she wiped some more dirt on her pants, and looked at the hole. Apparently, Claire wanted to stay out here longer. She smiled. "Okay, I'll dig some more, but you know, we can explore when we're done. I don't want to go inside yet if you don't." She was glad that she and Claire had something very important in common. Savannah couldn't live if she couldn't go outside once a day, even if it was very cold, and she knew Claire loved the outdoors as well. She fell back onto her hands and knees, picking away at the cold ground, using her small shovel. She hummed a tune she used to sing-and hum-when she was working on the farm all the time. It made her smile. Working on Auntie and Uncles farm was fun, but having their own farm, back when her Mom and Dad were still alive, that was her favorite farm. Well, even so, Savannah had been pretty young when she left it, so she never could remember too much of it. Except for the bull that chased her and then she got her force field powers. Of course, she remembered getting her invisibility powers plain as day, something she wasn't about to tell anyone. Unless they were good friends like Claire. But, Claire probably had a sad past of her own, and didn't want to hear some ones else's, and be reminded.

(OOC:) Could we find some one to join the thread and either be (a.) good and scare them by accident, or (b.) be bad and scare them and then have a battle

GO out and explore? Claire was always up for that. Especially when the exploring was outside, in the fresh and pretty air of January. "Of course, that sounds great!"She watched as Savannah dug a deeper hole. She thought that it would be better that it was further in the earth. Claire just watched though, even though she had offered to dig, this was more personal to Savannah then it was for her. Maybe she wanted to get the best out of burying the thing. "Maybe that is good?" Claire said with an anxious voice. Now all she wanted to do as explore, but she had to be a bit polite to Savannah and her situation.

Savannah knew she'd hit the bull's eye with her suggestion to explore. She shoved the cold loose dirt aside with her hand, and nodded with satisfaction. Claire seemed to be excited about exploring, and who was she to make her wait a second longer? She grabbed the picture, frowning at it, and dropped it into the hole. She positioned it to her standards and looked up at Claire. "Now, let's both cover it together!" She was excited to bury the card forever, never to see their stupid faces together again. She breathed calmly for a minute. "James Toll, I'm letting you go!" she said quietly. It was time to forget it and move on. Not to think about it anymore ,and continue on with life. To find a substitute, some one to replace him and win her heart. After all ,the past was gone ,and would never resurface, it was time for a new beginning, time for a change. This day was bringing forth any kind of newness she could hope for. She knew her parents would agree, they wouldn't want her to wallow in pity or sadness. This was the right choice, and she awarded herself for choosing it.

Claire nodded and smiled at Savannah, letting her have her moment to see the invitation one last time before it was buried. She sighed while looking at the photo, pleased that hey were doing this. It seemed that this was the best thing to do, to move forward and forget about them. It hadn't really affected her all that much, but at least she was helping someone and making them feel better. "Bye bye dude!" She took the shovel and started to toss big amounts of dirt onto the picture. Smiling, she looked over at Savannah. "This must feel good, right? In a few minutes it will be covered up, and no one will ever have to see it again." She smirked and bit and then moved the shovel so that Savannah could grab it. "DO you want to do the honors of finishing it? Then we can get out and explore."

As Savannah pushed the dirt back into the hole, she felt a sudden burst of energy. The cold air no longer seemed to nip at her, her hands were not tired, and her back did not ache. She patted down the soil that Clair put in the hole, to make it firm, she collected some pine needles to place over the dirt, to make it look casual once again. She let out a bit of a laugh when Claire said, "Bye bye dude!" It was just so random and funny, she couldn't help but laugh. She felt so good, she couldn't wait to explore now. "Yes, it feel great. I'm so happy to let the past go, and embrace my life here at the Academy without any heartbreak. I'll probably bury the wedding invitation too." she said in all serious. Yet, she couldn't help but add a giggle to the end of her sentence.

"I'd be glad to finish it off!" she said happily. She took the spade, and flicked the dirt into the hole, now practically filled, and patted it down. It was now officially gone. She spread some pine needles over the hole, to make in look like the area had never been disturbed. "Well, that's that. But I wonder what other secrets these woods hold." She look at Claire mischievously, knowing that Claire was ready to explore. She placed the spade back in her backpack, and zippered it up. "ready to delve deeply in these forbidden woods?" She asked with a hint of mystery in her tone.

Claire nodded at Savannah. "I'm always ready to explore. Especially in the woods." She smiled a bit and looked around. "Now, which way?" There was so many places that they could go. It was just a matter of where they wanted to go first. "I'm happy we did this, to get rid of the past and all."

She suddenly thought of her boyfriend. They hadn't talked in a long while, as she was very busy with his studies. She sighed and shook her head. Claire stayed like that for a few seconds, thinking and dwelling on the topic, but then lifted her head and started to walk forward. "Are you afraid of wolves Savannah?" She asked politely. It had been forever since she had spend some quality time with her friends, even though the wolves on this island weren't as friendly or easy going as her old ones.
