Ravi grunted as he drug the deer carcass along the forest floor. This one was a fighter, but eventually Ravi had brought it down. He hadn't had any meat in a while, the houses he was hitting all seemed to lack anything that wasn't junk food. He never liked killing deer for food, mainly because they took forever to cook on his small fire.

But hey, a boy had to eat. He glanced behind him as he continued to pull the deer along, his hands and bandages stained with blood. He could see the large sewer pipe that he used to get into this part of the forest in the first place.

A small smile cracked across his face as he saw the pipe. To him, the pipe was safety, leading into the maze of tunnels and drains he called home. He needed to wash this blood of before it dried, and get this meat on the fire. He was sure the sewer rats he lived with would enjoy this meal as well.

The boy froze for a few seconds as his sensitive ears picked up the rustling of leaves, the snapping of twigs. Another bear? He hated when they showed up after he had to hunt, it just meant another night he couldn't eat. He picked up the pace, trying to drag the dead animal faster towards the pipe before...whatever was following him caught up.

Thresher could smell it. The scent of blood hanging in the air. He'd already found the spot of the struggle, some gashes across trees and blood soaking into the grass were all that denoted that a fight had happened. It might have been a predator after it's prey, but the intermingling scents in the area didn't fit that scenario. No, someone had killed a deer here, and had left a pretty obvious trail as they dragged it off too.

No one was supposed to be hunting big game today, so that made this a problem. Thresher simply walked off, following the trail of blood droplets and broken shrubs, constantly sniffing at the air to try and detect anything amiss. It wasn't long until he stepped out from the trees to see a small wiry, boy dragging the carcass along towards a sewer pipe. "And what do you think you're doing?" he called out in his growling tone.

The scent hit his nose first. The scent of wolves mixed with that of a human. Ravi assumed that it was a werewolf getting closer to him, and his eyes darted between the pipe and the deer. He put all his strength into dragging the deer carcass, but it was for naught. Ravi locked eyes with the man who had appeared.

"And what do you think you're doing?"

Ravi's breath hitched, and he struggled to pull the deer faster towards the safety of the pipe. He kept his eyes on the bigger man as he did so, trying to hurry into his pipe. He said nothing, but looked nervous.

Thresher waited only a second or two for a reply from the small boy. After that he simply approached the other were and the carcass. His muscles were taught and ready for action should the boy try to bolt or attack him. "I asked what you were doing." He snarled at the wererat as he set his foot onto the dead deer, preventing him from dragging it further.

Ravi hissed, and struggled to pull the deer some more. He gave up his grip and took a step back, staying low to the ground, ready to bolt.

"I-it's mine! G-Go away!" He tried to sound confident and intimidating, but that was hard when you were as small as him. It didn't help that the man standing before him was much larger than him.

Thresher stared down at the small boy, easing off the deer only slightly. As much as his wolf instincts told him to fight for his territory and status above the intruder, it wasn't like he was going to kill the scrawny kid.

"What's your name?" Thresher gave only a couple seconds of pause and decency before returning to the alpha-male demeanor. "You want to tell me why you're poaching my deer?"

Ravi stepped back again, remaining silent. He continued crouching, low to the ground, his eyes darting all over the area. His instincts were screaming at him to move, to run into the safety of his sewers, but he was frozen in place. He just couldn't move, not while this guy was here, staring at him.

"F-Fuck off!" Ravi cursed, still trying to intimidate Thresher. He let one of his hands rest on the ground as he crouched, subtly making sure he would be able to have a handful, just in case.

Thresher bared his teeth, and a low growl began to emit from his throat. He leaned forward, putting his weight on the carcass again, a couple of ribs popping as he pressed down on them. His one eye narrowed at the boy, missing the fistful of dirt that Ravi gripped at.

"I asked you a question, boy. Now you can answer and try to make this a better spot for yourself, or I can start taking guesses." Thresher's jaw clenched, the muscles in his neck tightening as he continued to snarl. The boy was challenging him, and he had to push down the old urge to lash out.

Ravi's body had set itself into motion before the boy realized it. With speed granted through his already quick reflexes, he had hurled the dirt into Threshers eyes, and bolted off into the forest, gone in an instant.

Ravi had caught Threshers muscles tightening, and could see the anger in his body, not to mention his eyes. The smaller boy realized that Thresher would likely not listen to reason, and as such decided to bolt. He couldn't go into the safety of his tunnels, since Thresher was in the way. He decided to run into the city, and get to the underground. Hopefully he'd be able to lose him there...

Thresher released a roar into the air as his one good eye was clouded with dirt. He lunged towards the speeding boy as he let his other senses take hold to sense where he was. Unfortunately Ravi was already outside of Thresher's reach, and continuing to extend the distance.

The wolfman crashed through the branches after him as he rubbed at his eye. He continued to blunder after his scent until he managed to get the ability to see back. The thumping of feet soon became the padding of paws as Thresher shifted into his wolf form to continue pursuit of the ratboy.

Unfortunately, Ravi was able to outpace even the wolf form with his superior speed. Thresher was forced once more to really on only the trail left behind by the boy. The wolf slowed to a crawl, tracking, persisting. This wasn't over for the rat just yet.
