Weekends! Adeloise loved weekends! She liked the fact that she has an excuse to spend some time outside instead of being cooped up in her room doing homework. But she wouldn't let her friend, Stella hear her say that because she'd get an earful from her if that happened.

She stood at the swingset in the playground, getting pushed by a mostly unseen source as she swung back and forth. "Is that really the best you got, Adrien?" she taunted her companion. She heard the ghost scoff. "Most definitely not!" he responded, pulling her swing for a bit for added momentum.

Adeloise counted about three swings, back and forth, and by the fourth time her platform swung to its height-- "Hey, hey, check this out!" Without any other warning, Adeloise jumped off, though not with a smooth landing.

She'd landed mostly on her knees and rolled on the ground a bit from the jump, catching the attention of a few other kids playing and, of course, her own companion. The ghost rushed to her side, fussing over her as she pushed herself off from the ground, "Adeloise, what the heck was that?!" he snpped.

"I'm fine I swear!" she assured him, giving him her usual grin as she dusted off the dirt that clung to her skin and clothes.

Erinella made the most of her weekends by visiting places that weren't the school. She had nothing against the place, but like all schools there was learning everywhere. Learning meant doing work. Doing work meant not having fun, and she wanted to have fun! So this weekend, she had convinced her parents to take her to the park for a while. Not wanting to leave her unattended, her father was a while away reading under a tree.

Her curly hair left to its own devices around her shoulders and her clothes consisting of a comfortable jacket and shorts in vibrant colors, the red-eyed Demon approached the playground. It was big, for a playground, and she saw about twenty things she wanted to play on at once. This was a playground that wasn't just for really little kids. It would be so much better if she had a friend to play with.

And that's when she saw her. A girl similar in age to herself, swinging on a swing. The girl called out to her, and Erin, shy as she was, didn't know what to do. She wanted to run up and become best friends with the girl, but instead her feet froze to the ground and she just watched from her place as she jumped off the swing and fell to the ground.

Erin gasped. Oh no. The girl, she had fallen and it didn't look good. Now she knew she had to help. Running over to the playground quickly, she got there in time to see the girl get up and smile. "Are you okay? You- you fell from so high!" Realising the girl was almost certainly alright, she added, "I- I am Erinella..." she was still very nervous. What if the girl didn't want her there?

Adeloise had expected to catch attention from how she called her ghost companion, but she hadn't expected a new voice to rush to her when she'd jumped off the swing. Adeloise and Adrien exchanged curious glances, though to the other girl, it might have looked as if Adeloise was looking around instead.

When she turned back to the girl, she gave her another one of her bright smiles, "Yeah, I'm alright, I was just showing my friend I could do stunts but I'm apparently still not good at it," she explained, rather casually as she tried to clean up the snow and dust that was on her hair. Adrien seemed to notice how the girl seemed to curl up, despite having approached first so he gave Adeloise a slight nudge.

Adeloise, on the other hand didn't pick up quick enough so she turned to her ghost companion with narrowed eyes before facing the girl again. "It's great to meet you, Erinella! My name's Adeloise. Can I just call you Erin? You can call me Addy if you want!"

Erin didn't know the girl, and she wasn't one to judge, but she had to wonder what the strange glances to the side meant. For her, glancing sideways meant she was searching for an escape from a situation, but the other girl wasn't looking nervous at all. It was strange but in reality, what did she care? She had to focus on being as outgoing as was possible to her. This time she couldn't rely on being introduced to people through other friends.

Erin was even more confused when the girl mentioned her friend. There were no others on or really very near the playground, and nobody in the area who could pass as a friend of hers. "U-um what friend? I don't see a friend..." She shoved her hands into her pockets and fidgeted, trying her best to be talkative and get along with the girl. As the snow and dust came out of her hair, Erin also wondered what it would be like to be daring and fearless. She sure wouldn't have jumped off of that swing. "But if it helps- all you have to do is stay straight in the air and let your legs bend to catch you. ...Sorry...um, I like cheerleading."

"Sure, you can call me Erin, everyone does. And yes I will call you Addy!" Somehow the shortened names seemed to break the ice more than anything else could. Now that they were introduced, maybe she could at least keep up a conversation for a while.

Adeloise stuck her tongue out thoughtfully, considering the advice, until her next words clicked in, "Oooh! I'll keep that in mind next time. Do you do cheerleading? I always wanted to try but my parents always told me it's dangerous. And my other friends sometimes." It occured to her only after that she had mentioned Adrien to someone who couldn't see spirits again. Well, no matter! She'd rightly believed people in the island wouldn't really think she's nuts for befriending ghosts!

"So, my friend Adrien, you probably just can't see him," she chirped, taking a slight step to the side to make way for her companion. "See, he's actually a ghost about this tall --" Adeloise stepped on her tiptoes, raising her hand as if to reach Adrien's height which was more than she actually could. Adrien was actually laughing at her sad attempt. "And he's a super pretty boy. He's sort of like my babysitter since I'm staying away from my parents while I'm in school."

Unlike the shy girl, talking seemed like one of Adeloise's stronger suits ,"So Erin, did you come here with someone too?"

Erin sighed. She was nervous saying anything at all to strangers but Addy seemed nice and she was very talkative so Erin didn't have to talk as much if she didn't want to. So maybe she would be more comfortable communiacating with somebody like that. Somebody who would always pick up the conversation if it died down.

Then there was the cheerleading comment. "Yes I do cheerleading... Well, I used to," she said worriedly. "I don't think it would be very easy to do it here because everyone on the cheerleading team is so much older than me... I won't join until high school maybe." She missed cheerleading. The thrill of doing tricks and flying through the air was one of the best feelings ever. But the closest she had gotten to that since arriving on the island was dancing in her bedroom. Erin wondered who Addy's 'other friends' were but figured they were just classmates.

Soon enough though, her wonders about Addy's friend were answered. He was a ghost? "S-so... He is invisible? Is he here... Now?" The thought of somebody listening in on her conversation was kind of discomforting. But it did sound kind of nice to have a personal friend. Kind of. Erin thought Addy would be more suited to it than herself, being the more talkative of the two. Erin would want some privacy after a week.

"Oh! Um, yes- I came here with my dad..." Her eyes scanned the park in search of her father. Spotting him sitting under a tree, book in hand, she pointed at him. "He's over there. H-how do you stay away from your parents for so long?" Being an only child, Erin's parents were a massive part of her life. She couldn't think of staying away from them for an entire term or semester.

Adeloise clapped excitedly, "You must be really athletic! I tried the simpler routines before but I could never coordinate with all the stuff. Once I tried copying the high schoolers from my old school but even their basic routine was sooo tiring!" Adeloise would have loved to be able to do those tricks and high flying herself. Maybe she could join but... her parents probably wouldn't have it. Ahhh, she probably needs to find some way to convince them! "Maybe we could join together some day! I'll have to convince my parents about it though.

"So, yeah, Adrien is mostly invisible. Some people can see him like I do, but most people don't apparently? He's standing here next to me," Adeloise explained, waiving a hand to her side where the said ghost boy was standing. Adeloise was the only one who heard the faint "hey!" from her companion for passing her hand through his ghost body. "Don't worry about him though, he's real nice! But I can't let him go off on his own since he... might get lost without me." Adeloise stuck her tongue out jokingly. It wasn't that he was going to get lost. She mostly thinks it was that he couldn't go anywhere without her. Adrien didn't say anything on the topic.

Her gaze followed Erin's as she searched for her father in the park and found the man under sitting under the tree. "Aww! Your dad's real nice to go with you here," she mused aloud. "To be honest, my parents are kind of busy, my dad especially. I'm mostly used to it by now, but I do get homesick a lot. This is only my first year here in the island so I haven't been separated for long--and I did visit them over Christmas break! Besides, two of my ghost friends that came with me kind of act like parents too."

Erinella smiled. It was great that Addy was so happy that she could do cheerleading. She nodded shyly. "Um, yes? Yes, I think so. I really like sports and things but I am too small for most of them and in cheerleading it is better to be small. At my old school there was a younger team and an older team so we couldn't do too much of the flying in the air. The high school routines are way more fun!" In truth, Erin was very good at sports but she didn't want to sound too full of herself. Nevertheless, talking about cheerleading was something she was comfortable with doing, so she found herself speaking more fluently with Addy.

Erin was hesitant. She had been urged by her parents to join the team, but everyone in it was really old and she was so young compared to them. She didn't have the courage to approach any of them really, not to ask them tips about cheerleading, let alone ask to join the cheer squad. "M-maybe one day... B-but why don't your parents want you to do it? It's easy if you just try!" Concentrating on something other than talking to scary older people, she demonstrated a cartwheel, her legs perfectly straight and separated so her body made a star. She would've done a one-handed cartwheel or an aerial, but that would definitely be showing off way too much. Showing off wasn't something she liked to do much.

"Adrien sounds cool. I'd love to meet him but..." She shrugged and looked towards where Addy waved. "I can't really see him. I'm sure he is really nice though! Do you ever argue? I think I would argue if someone was beside me all the time. It would be good too though, because you have like a best friend who is always there." She wished she could see Adrien but also thought it was good that he stayed with Addy and not her. Addy seemed like a more talkative person and Adrien would probably get bored of her very quickly.

Looking over to her dad, Erin smiled. Her dad saw her and, looking up from his book, smiled and waved back at her. Still smiling, she turned her head back towards Adeloise. "Yeah, I'm really lucky both my parents are here with me," she said, trying her best not to seem spoilt because Addy didn't have family on the island. "But he really needs to get outside some more. See, even now he's reading his book. He'd be happy I'm making a friend. Mum is usually really busy, so Dad is with me most of the time. Where do you... Live, then? At the school?"
Pausing for a second, she said, "You have more than one ghost friend?" So it wasn't just Adrien...
