Lochlann was terribly good at being a monster.
He couldn't deny it while he stood outside the door to Emily's apartment, his hand hovering over it. After a meeting with a friend that reminded him how shitty of a person was, Lochlann decided it was time for him to reach out to the people in his life that he'd left behind instead of waiting until he ran into them accidentally.
Emily was first on his list. He didn't have too many friends he could rely on, but she was one of them. He felt guilty that he hadn't said he was leaving.
He had excuses, but that's all they were, and Lochlann was determined not to say anything about the reason he dropped out of school and then disappeared from the academy. It didn't stop him from feeling guilty, though.
He wrapped his fingers against the door, hoping she was home, and waited.
