Despite Theo's attempt to cheer Arjean up, they still felt embarrassed about their ignorance. He even looked shocked, and Arjean swore they smelled blood for a moment from him. Before they could ask about it though he went back to his cheerful attitude and started his teaching. He reminded them of a tutor trying to get them out of their comfort zone, but sometimes their comfort zone was the best zone.
When he began his explanation on Hide-and-Seek and Tag Arjean stopped thinking about the blood and instead focused on which game sounded more fun. The idea of having to run away to avoid being touched felt like a weird game, but they were good at running away, or, well, flying away. The only issue they could see was skin-to-skin contact, but maybe that would be okay. Maybe. Arjean hoped things would be okay, but even touch by clothing made them feel sick.
"Hide-and-Seek!" they picked after thinking through their options. There seemed to be no touching in that game, and they were good at hiding too. Theo wouldn't expect them in their owl form or deer form but... maybe that was unfair. He probably didn't know they could shape-shift, and using that against him probably would mess with the fun of the game. If both of them didn't have fun then the game was bad and Arjean was a bad friend. "I want to be Seek. Um... Please..." It wasn't cheating if they used their really good senses, right? They were born to be good at hunting and avoid being hunted, so it couldn't be cheating. Being born strong couldn't be.
