The kiss was sweet and soft and gentle, and when Lochlann pulled away, Adelene unconsciously leaned forward trying to reach him again... which made her realize how frustrated she felt with how it didn't last.

She felt warm and shaky and weak and embarrassed. She tried to pull away, but there wasn't really that much success since they were still handcuffed to one another. She sat up, attempting to breathe to cool her face and body down. She couldn't look at Lochlann though, not while she felt like she wanted more than the kiss he gave her.

"Last surprise, huh?" she mumbled. She didn't really want to go home yet; she feared that... the fun would end once the night does, and she was worried it was going to end forever.

She huffed. This was dinner night, and dinner was done. There wasn't anything else they could do here, might as well leave, right?

"Well... we can go now if you feel like it," she answered with a shrug. She smiled and attempted to turn to his face, but her eyes moved away on their own almost immediately. "I wonder how the ride home could be a surprise..."

"If it were up to me, tonight would never end," Lochlann admitted. His face was still flushed and his breathing was a little bit faster. If she touched him, she'd probably feel how his pulse was racing against his chest.

Shit. He'd promised her she could think about it, and then he went ahead and kissed her. He was really a lame friend.

Lochlann pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand and cast a glance over at the girl who couldn't even look at him, but he was honestly a little relieved because it gave him a little bit to try and get his face to feel....not so hot.

"Well, I didn't know if I could get here in the car," Lochlann said. "So I arranged something....a little bit different for the way home."

He picked himself up off hte ground and held his hand out to her, even tohugh she was handcuffed to him so it's not like she could really run anywhere.

But still, he'd help her to her feet if she was willing and then lead her to the edge where the wind would brush up against their faces, chilling despite the hot summer air.

"There," Lochlann pointed, to what looked like a carriage.
With horses.

He waved and the white horse tossed her head back.

"You look like a princess in your dress," Lochlann said. "I wanted to return you to your castle letting you feel like one."

it's not too much, is it, he wondered. It probably was. Too late to back out of it now.

A little different... It was probably a valid assumption that they weren't going to ride any metal on their way back tonight. With a pretend sigh, she took Lochlann's hand and help, and then carefully stood up before following his lead to the edge where they could see the city clearer.

God, it was colder there. It was cold against her melting cheeks most of all.

Adelene kept herself close as she eyed where Lochlann was pointing. She didn't pick it up immediately, there was a slight buffer in her head...

Carriage..?

Her first thought was that it looked so out of place in the heart of the city. Her second thought was that it was goddamn beautiful. And her third thought was that she's never ridden a carriage before, and she was oddly curious.

She chuckled.

"You flatter me, Loch, I'll feel so guilty if you get broke after tonight," she replied, in attempt to make a light comment to cover up for what disbelief she felt for this flattery. It was indeed too much, but she didn't exactly think it was a bad thing. Which felt kinda bad for her conscience.

She finally got to look at Lochlann again, with a successful attempt of smiling. "So, my prince," she suddenly uttered with a British accent that she was able to neutralize during her wandering years, but kept, "are we heading back?"

(ooc: i'm so sorry i suck, i think this is a good place to wrap it up?))

She was pleased, so Lochlann was pleased, and a rare moment of unfiltered emotion flickered across his face. He was relaxed. He was happy. There might be a lot of moments between himself and Adelene that Lochlann wished he could erase, but this wasn't one of them.

Christ, he wanted to kiss her again.

Actually, he wanted to lean her over the edge of the railing and love her while they watched the cars go by beneath, oblivious to what was going on, but Lochlann tried his best to pull his head from the gutter.

It was bad enough he'd kissed her, bad enough that he wanted to do that again. He had to be very, very careful that he didn't go too far. He didn't want to lose his best friend.

Her accent pulled something from him and he slipped his free hand into his pocket, removed the key, and undid their cuffs.

"Oh, fy anwylaf," he slipped into Welsh in response and then pulled her into a tight embrace. He hugged her both to keep her warm and because he didn't want to go another night without having her in his arms.

This was so, so dangerous.

"Let's go back," he said, softly. "Otherwise I'll never let you leave. Addy, I think--"

I think I might love you.

"I think this is the best night I've had in a long time."
