This dance thing was nerve wracking. The anxiety was all over Adelene's face, as she kept her eyes on their feet, and her hands were slightly shaky on where they settled on Lochlann's shoulder and in his own hand. Thank goodness the music was slow; this way she didn't have to hurry up and panic and end up stepping on Lochlann's foot. No, it was going much smoother than she expected.

But her heart was still being wild inside her chest. She was certain it was nervousness, but she couldn't deny the thrill that this dance was making her feel, little by little. Lochlann's hands were warm, and that warmth made her not want him to remove them on her anymore. She would spin every now and then, but then they will go back to their original position quickly after. Slowly, Adelene relaxed, and instead of their feet, her eyes found their way into Lochlann's again, and settled there. The nervousness soon faded, too. She was slowly being filled with glee and thrill, and her smile showed that soon enough.

She admired Lochlann's elegance. Eventually, it stopped feeling like a dance inside the fancy restaurant, and started feeling like the wind was gently caressing and swaying her. And that graceful wind was Lochlann.

Her almost fantasy-type of imagination was, however, disturbed as Lochlann spun her around once more, but this time so they could both turn to a camera. Though taken by surprise, though blushing madly, Adelene smiled sweetly to the lens, before spinning ba towards Loch.

A giggle bubbled up her throat from her overjoyed heart. She usually wouldn't, but she was genuinely enjoying this dance by now, and that was thanks to her... date? Her best friend. Right. Best friend. This wasn't really a date, it was just some fancy dinner with her best friend. Her graceful and attractive best friend...

She looked away. She could feel her face heating up even more, thanks to those thoughts. While they were true, she should really stop thinking of Lochlann that way. Thankfully he spoke, and there was finally something to talk about. Halfheartedly, she glanced up again, raising her eyebrows curiously.

"There's something else? What would that be?"

Lochlann waited until the song ended before he sprung the last surprise on her.

When the music slowed to a finish, Lochlann inched closer, resting his forehead on her own and looking into his eyes, a small, sad smile on his face.

"This was fun," Lochlann said. He was about to say something cheesy, but he just bit his tongue instead. He slid his hands over hers and then....

Lochlann clasped the end of a pair of handcuffs around her right wrist and his left wrist.

She was bound to him now, and he was trapped.

He felt a momentary flicker of excitement and then the music started again, a little bit faster now, and Lochlann pulled her close back to him.

"The night is young, Adelene," Lochlann grinned and then kissed the top of her head. "And you are mine for the rest of it."

A waiter walked by and tapped at his wrist and Lochlann grinned at him, giving the OK sign with one finger.

"One more dance with me and then I am taking you hostage," Lochlann warned her. "Are you nervous?"

The dance felt so beautiful, Adelene almost didn't want it to end. But the fading of the music was enough a warning, enough indication that it was ending, and slowly, she felt herself needing for more.

But then everything stopped and she could feel Lochlann's forehead on hers, and their eyes were locked, faces so close...

She wanted to shut her eyes because this was embarrassing. But Lochlann was so captivating and she didn't want to look away either.

But the click on her right hand was enough to pull her attention. Flinching, she looked down to see herself handcuffed to her best friend. Her eyes widened. She wasn't expecting that, but slowly it made sense why the charm on her anklet for tonight were handcuffs.

She turned to Lochlann again. Her eyes closed briefly as he kissed her, and she hated herself for a moment after wishing he'd kissed her on the lips instead. The music was playing. She liked how it became a perfect reason for her to be so close to him.

"I don't mind being yours..." she mumbled, even before she could think a second time. She was afraid she'll regret saying that. Because she wasn't sure if she was just confused or what. She wasn't sure if she really wanted Lochlann the way she thought she did. Because she can't tell if there was a difference with this kind of want and her kind of wanting for Leon.

"One more dance?" She chuckled. "No, I'm not nervous. I know you'll take care of me if you're serious about that."

She reached for his hand, and she'd entwine the fingers of their cuffed hands. She didn't mind being bound to him like this. She was glad the night was, indeed, young.

When she held his hand instead of punching him, Lochlann exhaled, and then gave her an excited grin and pulled her even closer. This dance was a little faster and though it took some working to adapt to the handcuffs, Lochlann did so with ease.

As the music came to a close, he pulled her close to him and then started towards the door, bringing her along with him since she, well, she didn't really have a choice. Lochann waved to Lamby, who bawwed as they past, and took Addy to the elevator.

"Close your eyes," he told her, grinning. His breath was coming in short bursts and his skin was hot, but it was more form the dance than from his leg acting up.

THAT. Made her nervous. She enjoyed the more upbeat dance and that got her heart bearing much faster, which kinda contributed to why it was easy for her to be tensed when she didn't know what was going on anymore.

"Loch, where are we going?" First of all, she had her stuff in her chair, she was afraid they might lose it even though Lamby was there. Second of all, they were heading to a place unknown to her again.

Close your eyes, Lochlann said. She didn't instantly do so; at first she was looking straight into his eyes, worried and confused, but she resigned to it eventually, sighing as she closed her eyes as told. "When can I open them?"

"Up," Lochlann said, and he pressed the button on the elevator.

"i'll tell you when you can open them," he whispered, his face very close to hers, teasing her while her eyes were shut. "Just not yet."

When the elevator doors opened, Lochlann would take her hand and lead her a few steps out. The cool air would probably give them away, but he'd tell her to open her eyes then.

The roof.

He took her to the roof, which was covered in tea light candles and paper lanterns that swayed gently in the evening breeze. The view let them see all of the neon signs and moving traffic of the strip, hear the hum of cars, and have the warm smell of flowers from the potted plants lining the edge drifted towards them.

"We'll have the rest of our sweets up here," Lochlann said, and then he took her to the picnic blanket in the center and sat down, pulling her onto his lap.

It was an innocent gesture, surprisingly. It was to make things easier with the hand cuffs.

She felt him that close, the sensation was like a weird tingling on her face as she listened to how Lochlann spoke. And then her cheeks heated up again. To hide the embarrassment she felt, a scowl masked it up, even as her eyes remained close, even though she didn't have it in her to peek. "Fine, but don't let me trip," she whispered back.

Moving was nerve-wracking when she couldn't open her eyes. She helpless as she trailed behind Lochlann and held tighter to his hand. And then the sudden rush of cold wind to her face and shoulders shocked her eyes open, just as she was told it was already okay to look.

Cold. It was fucking cold. But that wasn't why her breath was taken away from her.

The roof was lovely. It was probably the most romantic setting she's ever seen, which made it really disappointing that this whole dinner itself wasn't even a romantic thing to begin with. It was just her and her best friend doing a thing after she lost their drinking contest. While it was surely going to be a special memory to her... it didn't seem like it could be anything more than that.

She shook those thoughts away, and decided to look around even more. Even though they were technically in the middle of a busy city, it felt like they were the only people in the world yet again, just like that moment on the bookstore roof. She shivered as the wind kept blowing to her shoulders, and eventually to her back, but thankfully Lochlann pulled her closer, and she didn't really mind that she had to sit down on his lap.

"You're quite good at this, this is beautiful," Adelene said, masking her genuine compliment with a teasing grin that was just her facade. "But you know, you should've at least let me get my shawl. The breeze is cold."

"I'm glad you like it," Lochlann said, and then he pulled her even closer and pressed her against his chest. He rested his head on her shoulder, breathing on her neck. His eyes were closed.

"I'll keep you warm," he promised her. There was a small desert box of pastries and sweets within easy reach, along with another bottle of wine. She'd be able to grab them if she wanted, but Lochlann kept himself pressed close to her.

"Addy," Lochlann said. "I want you to think about something. You don't have to make a decision, but it'd...it'd mean a lot if you could think about it."

Lochlann swallowed. His heart was pounding so hard, she'd be able to feel it against his chest.

"I know you said you just want to be friends, and you don't want anything complicated, and that's fine," Lochlann said. "If you still want that, nothing has to change. I'm happy with you, Addy, and I don't get to be happy very often. But.."

He swallowed again.

"But if you want more I would be happy to share what I could with you Addy. I'm fifty-shades-of fucked up but you make me feel like that doesn't mean a thing when I'm with you."

His voice sounded tired, scratchy, like it did that night in the hospital, and once the words were out Lochlann reached for the wine bottle and took a heavy mouthful without even pouring it in a glass. He set it down and resumed his previous position, both to keep her warm and because there wasn't much he could do withonly one hand.

He wanted to feed her one of those pastries, though.

Everything felt much better then, when Adelene felt Lochlann against her back. It felt really warm and as always, comfy. Unconsciously, she snuggled closer, turning her head to the side in hopes to see his face. But she could feel him on her shoulder and neck instead, and she didn't really want him to pull away either.

Her breath was caught in her throat when he just kept speaking.

She didn't really know what he was talking about, at least at first. But then he started sounding like Leon for some reason, similar words, similar tone, similar cracking voice... And then she realized he was bringing up a similar thing she should think of.

Oh god, her heart was instantly torn in two.

But she felt warm and there wasn't any sort of 'no' in her system. But she felt like she was being unfair. Leon was already waiting for her answer. She couldn't really reject him because she liked him too. But she liked Lochlann just as much. While she was happy they liked her, this was a big pain on her part.

She reached out to him with her free hand, stroking his hair softly after he brought the bottle down. Her head was still turned to the side, and she really wanted to see his face. She pulled him closer and kissed his temple instead.

"You're fifty-shades-of-fucked up but no, it never mattered to me," she echoed. True enough, no matter how jealous she got of others, no matter how much of a wreck she's seen him, she still considered him one of the two most important people to her, and she's long acknowledged that she's always had some sort of love for him. What kind of love, that is the question.

She smiled. "I'll think about it, Loch."

Bringing her hand down, she turned to reach for a bite-sized chocolate from one box. At least she thought it was chocolate, though the candlelights weren't enough to assure her. And then she put it against Lochlann's lips; she wanted to try to feed him sweets, too.

She chuckled. "For now though, let's eat these. Loch, thank you for tonight, even though I was scared shit because of this dress."

"You're fifty-shades-of-fucked up but no, it never mattered to me,"

He nuzzled her shoulder and neck, and then kissed the spot where they met. It was an intimate gesture, one that admittedly contained just a smidge of lust behind it because he knew how that spot could make a person shiver, but it was just accidental.

Addy made him feel safe, secure, like he was the one in her arms and not the other way around. His gave a slow, tired exhale, and all the tension in Lochlann's shoulders started to dissipate.

She'd think about it.

"Thank you," Lochlann said.

He took the chocolate from her fingers gently and let it melt in his mouth. He made a small, contented hum in his throat, vibrating it against her shoulder. Lochlann reached over and dug through the box, then picked up a sugar cube and pressed it to her lips.

"These are my favorite," he confessed. "I like they way they just dissolve in my mouth."

When she confessed to being scared of the dress, Lochlann used their cuffed hands to pull her even closer to him.

"You look beautiful," Lochlann said. "And getting to see you like this was a treat. Thank you for putting up with tonight."

He had another question that made him falter.

"So uhh.....I'm going to be graduating," Lochlann said, swallowing. "And uhh....I was wondering...would you like to meet my family?"
