Tyler paused, a fry between his lips. "Wait, what?" he asked. "I'm sorry, did you say six floors?" He was shocked. He didn't know that Starlight Academy was that big of a school. 'I mean, sure, the school grounds are pretty big,' he thought to himself as he swallowed another fry, 'but for a dorm to have six floors? For only college students?' Tyler wasn't even sure that there were only six floors.

He stayed silent as he took a bite of his apple pie. "Just... how big is Starlight Academy? I mean, that's a lot of floors for just college students? Is there only six floors or are there more?" he asked Adam, still a bit disbelieving.

"Yeah, six floors..." Adam confirmed. "I don't know about the number of students. I think as of now we're only somewhere over a hundred college kids. But I do think that the reason why it's reached more than six floors is because, ya know, we're all special kids."

He shrugged. "It's only a theory but I think some would need special rooms or something... Ya know, like in X-men. Rooms are of fair sizes so I can't complain. Mine is just overlooking the city." He understood why Tyler would be anxious about it with his power. "Don't worry though. I don't have immediate neighbors as of yet."

"Oh," Tyler said. 'That made a lot of sense,' he thought, thinking about the different inconvenient physical powers like The Thing's or Hulk's. He wondered if some students had powers like The Thing or Hulk. Maybe some student was like Cyclops. Or Jean Gray. Maybe there's a Professor Xavier in the school. 'What if I'm on X-Men island?' he mused. 'That would be so cool.'

Tyler looked around him. If he was right, then they should reach the school grounds in ten minutes or so. When Adam told him that they didn't have any neighbors, Tyler's shoulders relaxed a little. No neighbors meant less people he had to worry about when leaving the dorms. "That's alright, I guess."

"Hey," he looked at the taller boy sideways curiously. "How about dorm parents? Do we have any?"

"We've got four dorm parents that I know of..." Adam said. He paused to remember the pictures of the dorm parents pasted on the wall in the lobby of the dorms for students to read. "I don't remember their names though and I haven't met any of them yet."

He continued to munch on his burger, taking sips of his coke in between bites. He glanced at Tyler and remembered that bit of relief the other showcased when he said they had no neighbors. To be honest, not having neighbors bored Adam. It also made him lonely. And Tyler was used to that kind of lifestyle because of his powers. Adam figured, since Tyler is here to control his powers anyway, he should try making some new friends.

"So maybe once we get your nullifier, I was thinking we could hang out. I could introduce you to my other friends and we could all hang and maybe talk about comics and stuff. If you want," Adam offered casually. He took the finishing bites to his burger. They were close now and the sun was already pretty high in the sky with not much clouds to filter its heat. A bit of summer heat left behind by global warming, most likely.

"Sure," Tyler replied, trying to sound enthusiastic about meeting Adam's other friends. It's been a really, really, really long time since he had hung out with any group of people. During the past six years he spent trying to control his powers on his own, either he avoided people or people ignored him. He was known as the quiet kid who sits in the corner, trying to just become invisible. It worked for the most part, but now that he had an actual chance of interacting with other people, it just made him nervous and just a teeny bit scared.

"I'm... actually not that sure," he told Adam honestly a few moments later. "I mean, you not included, it's been a long time since I've actually had anyone I could actually talk to like this." Tyler kept looking ahead when he said this, now able to see the school gates from their current location. They kept walking at a casual pace, not wanting to tire themselves.

"Actually, why don't we go to the dorms first?" Tyler suggested. If they went now, there would probably be fewer students lingering around, especially since lunchtime was nearing. They would probably be out eating or something. "I-if that's alright with you," he added as an afterthought.

"I mean, you not included, it's been a long time since I've actually had anyone I could actually talk to like this."

Adam glanced at Tyler. He stared at the school from this distance thoughtfully. As a friend, his role here should be to help Tyler become more comfortable with socializing, since that is his weak spot. He couldn't do it without any nullifier yet so for now, all they could really do is wait and look.

"Sure, let's go. You could check out the room," Adam seconded with a smile. "And we can move your bed around to wherever you want them while your stuff is still back in the hotel. And we can hang there while the lunch crowd's out."

He started on his apple pie shortly after. His soda had all been consumed by the time they neared the gates of the academy. "Huge campus is huge," he muttered. "Have you checked out the dorms yet, by the way?"

"Have you checked out the dorms yet, by the way?"

Tyler shook his head. "The only part of the school I've actually checked out is the admissions office," he admitted. And he had only checked it out just a few hours ago, which was right before he met Adam.

"Do you think they have a school map on the campus?" he asked Adam as they approached the school gates.

"Oh," Adam said. He guessed that the time Tyler checked the Admissions is also the same time they met. "Yeah, I there should be one on the brochure. I guess it should also be posted on a board or something, though I haven't seen anything like that around here yet."

They walked through the gates in silence before Adam offered, "When you're all settled and nullified, I could take you on a tour around the campus. We could check out the Art building. They've got cool stuff in there. And I think we're free to watch the practices there. And then we can check out the lake. Even though summer's just about done, we can always go and swim still. If you want."

Adam led them around the campus towards the least crowded areas during lunch time and soon they'd finally reached the dorm building. "Here we are," he said, giving Tyler time to look up at it before he led the way in.
