RE: TO BE TITLED
"I moved a lot," Lochlann confessed. "I got expelled several times for fighting. I didn't really get to make good friends like I did with you."
And then, of course, Lochlann had eaten his girlfriends before he'd ever had the chance to take them home.
He stopped suddenly again, turning so quickly to look at her that the distance between them disappeared and he was only inches from her, peering down into her face. He was a dark figure cut out again the mid August sky, and the angle of the sun hit Addie like a back drop and reminded him of how beautiful she was.
"I'm very glad I met you," Lochlann said. "My life is better with you in it."
Her smile was contagious and Lochlann caught it from her.
And then, before Lochlann could realize that he'd started to blush, he turned and started walking again because he'd caught sight of his family. The duo was standing beneath a tree, out of the way of the people milling about, and Lochlann waved them over.
There was definitely a family resemblance between Lochlann and his siblings. Lawrence was the oldest by several years and though he had Lochlann's cheekbones and green eyes, his dark hair was cropped short. The ends still had that Irish curl to them, but there was more of their mother in his face. Lillianna, though young, already made an impressive silhouette with her curves and long, straight black hair. She had a way of standing that made her look like she was bored, even though her eyes betrayed she was watching everything with keen interest.
When Lochlann approached his two siblings, he stood closer to Adelene so they'd know she was his/ He wrapped an arm around her hips automatically, claiming her.
"Addy," he said, motioning to her and his siblings. "This is my brother, Lawrence, and my sister, Lillianna."
"Charmed," Lawrence said to her, offering his hand out to shake. He still carried an accent, something between Irish and Welsh.
"Hey," Lillianna said. She did not offer her hand, but eyed Adelene like a hawk might eye a field mouse. There was an unspoken question on her face as she tried to establish this relationship. Friend or dinner meal?
Addy's answer would determine that.
