Ayaka would jerk upward from surprise as someone would sit on the bench directly behind her. The bench made a creaking noise from Jericho’s weight. She jerked her head around and would look at the person behind her, “Oh……Jericho. Its you, what’s up? “ the girl would ask her bodyguard and friend, “Oh, I am enjoying myself. Can’t you tell?” she’d lie. She fondled with her crazy colored hair out of nervousness of getting caught by Jericho.

To be honest she was bored, very. She had to watch Shay but then again she couldn’t complain, she was getting paid a bunch of money for doing so. She was going to try to catch her alone but then she heard the boy with the star bow-tie say something about staying along with her the entire time. He probably had a crush on her or something of that nature. Weird and cute, but also an inconvenience for her goal.

Jericho smiled when Shay hugged Nico. It was rare for her to be close to anyone. He knew that if she acted that way around you, then you were special to her. He watched more of Shay's friends and acquaintances gather around her, looking for anyone out of the usual crowd. Jerry wasn't being as thorough as a real life situation, but this was a closely monitored and highly specific crowd. Then again, Klaus had a way of surprising him sometimes.

Jericho turned his attention back to Ayaka. "Oh, ya know. Stuff..." Jericho trailed off. A usual conversation starter if ever asked what he was doing. He cocked an eyebrow at Ayaka's last comment with a little smirk. "I would've thought that a party like this one would have you bouncing off the walls." He glanced over at the bounce house. "Quite literally, even." Jericho would prefer not to get in there because he wanted to sit around as much as he could while still keeping an eye on Shay. If it meant lightening up his friends' mood, though, he'd go over the moon to do it.

Jericho moved around the bench and sat next to Ayaka. His arms spread on the back of the bench and dangled lazily. He stretched out his legs and gave a very audible sigh. "Now lets see if something interesting happens. Shall we?" With such a large gathering of Rosales gang members, the leaders, and their families here too, Jericho was counting on something going south. He really didn't care what.

Even if Angelo suspected that most of the station knew he had some connection to the Rosales gang, he had no intention of announcing it to the world. He'd had a hard time when he first arrived, and even though he hadn't had any contact with the Family for years, plenty of people still associate him both with them, and with the sort of things they did.

Hanging out with a family known for its criminal activities wasn't exactly a good way to correct them. When the invitation had arrived, Angelo had initially resolved himself not to go. Then, after taking some time to think on it, he'd instead resolved to simply not make an appearance.

It was surprisingly easy to erase his presence, vanishing not quite from sight, but simply from awareness. He was still physically there, and he'd show up on any cameras or pictures, but as far as the people gathered could tell, he'd never shown up at all. Everyone's eyes would simply slide right over him, allowing him to cut carefully through the park to the pile of unopened gifts. As far as he could tell, most people were actually giving their gifts, but that wouldn't quite work for him, so he opted to plonk his own present right down in the middle of the pile, sticking out like a sore thumb.

The present itself was notable mostly for it's large blue bow, and for it's absolutely terrible wrapping. Angelo hadn't actually wrapped a gift in years, so he'd been doing his best just to keep it covered.

That said, Angelo hadn't bought a gift for someone of Shay's age in... well, ever. So he'd been forced to take his very best guess at what a thirteen year old would want.

In the end, he'd settled on a very nice locking diary. Kids liked diaries, right? It made sense to him, and considering the extremely large amount of siblings she suddenly had, a lock would probably be appropriate.

His gift left, Angelo opted to head back to work, leaving the park just as unnoticed as he'd come.

Addy was always excited for parties, especially ones that were garunteed to be amazing. Her little sister was turning thirteen and she was a bit worried about what to get her. Addy was someone who liked to give people things they liked, not what she thought they should like. The few times she had gotten presents from various half siblings of hers...they'd been list oriented to say the least.
She wanted to make sure she had gotten the best present she could get her. She had heard Shay mention her reaper heritage a few times in passing so she figured getting her a scythe would be a good idea. It was a toss up in whether or not it would be ready in time, but she managed it.

She hadnt put her gift with the pile, instead she held the oddly shapped box securely under arm as she searched for the younger girl. She had chosen to wear a green sundress, her favorite color. Plus it was the closest thing to her and she had ran late picking up her present for shay. Finally spotting her sister she jumped excitedly and flagged her down before running over.

"Shay! I wanted to see you open your gift. Sorry if I'm interrupting." She said smiling sheepishly at the people around her sister. Never the less she handed Shay the packages containing her present.

By now, Shay was a little overwhelmed. She had a crowd around her and, well, she was awkward enough dealing with one, imagine trying to deal with several at once. She happened to spot Rho near the back of the group crowding her and motioned her friend closer.

"Rho! You made it." Shay beamed and would have pushed through the group if she wasn't so nervous to push past Gabriel. By the point that Addy had shoved her way near Nico and handed Shay a large package.

With everything else in her arms, Shay was doing the balancing act and struggling to know where she should put all her presents. She handed a few off to Klaus before opening Addy's. Shay's eyes widened, and she said nothing, speechless.

"Christ, Addy, where did you -- how? This is amazing."

She breathed out, taking a moment to look at everyone around. Ugh, her head was spinning, and she was starting to feel faint. It was all just a little too much. Shay had feared this very thing happening when Klaus made his intention of throwing her a large party known.

Carefully, Shay set her new scythe on the ground and gave Addy another smile. "Thanks again, Addy. I'll talk to you more later."

With that, the girl (still smiling) turned to Klaus and opened his coat so she could step inside, letting it fall around her and hide her from view of everyone. Behind the clothing, Shay wrapped her arms around Klaus' torso and buried her face into it.

If there was one thing Pip was known for it was being fashionably late. Well, there were lots of things Pip was known for, most notably being the island's Birthday Fairy, but being late was also a pretty big one, too. When you are responsible for attending every birthday on the island, it can be a bit difficult to always arrive on time to every single party.

Often, showing up to parties wasn't something that was planned until the day of, due to a long string of reasons, but today there was one party that Pip had been aware of and planning for days. Eroshay Rosales thirteenth birthday!

Pip made it part of their job to be in good standing with all those in power on the island, whether city council members or gang leaders. Klaus was a particular favorite because the parties that the Rosales threw never failed to be the best of the year. They were one of the few groups that Pip would go to the trouble of baking the cake themselves, instead of letting one of their bakeries do it for them. They had purposefully gone to all other birthdays for the day already so that they could spend the rest of the evening living it up with their favorite demon gang.

As they flew above Oceania Park, Pip pulled out their little trumpet and blew a low, long note to signal their arrival. They scanned the area for the birthday girl but they couldn't spot her. However, Klaus was clearly seen and so Pip zoomed down to greet them.

"Good day Klaus!" Pip chipped in a child like voice. "My apologizes for not getting here sooner. Where is the birthday girl?"

They hoped that they hadn't missed her already. Pip had visited Shay before on her birthday when she lived in the orphanage but as one might guess, birthdays at the orphanage weren't always the most joyful of occasions. They would try their best to lift moods with a magic song but most of the kids there were so stuck in their downtrodden ways that there wasn't much the little fairy could do to improve moral.

[[Pip is a new character but they have been on the island since it's founding. Check out the app (link in sig) and message me if you have any plotting questions. Plotter specific for Pip coming soon!!]]

You could say that Monochrome's gift wasn't very unique. He was no thief or ultra rich person. He was not a respected family member or even a close friend of Eroshay's. Therefore, his present to her seemed to reflect that. Before anyone else could budge in, he shoved his hand to the side, so that a box was in front of her face. "I got tired of waiting so here." The tiny vampire told her before he backed away to let others fawn over her. When she were to open it, five different small mixtures of tea would be found, with a note saying: 'You told me it sucked so I kept trying'.

Sherry knew that she would have to push her way through all of the other people; this was her sister after all! With a huff of confidence after Klaus and her conversation, her body strutted towards Eroshay. She didn't want to wait for her present to be open on some table! After the people around her had left, there was a small opening for her. "Shay Shay!" She exclaimed as if they were an island apart. Mansmasher3000 faked her out of breathlessness as she held out a tiny little bag. Inside was a homemade card with 13 reasons why she was the best sister and best friend ever. Also in the bag, was a tiny woven bracelet, to which Sherry flashed her matching one to her. "Happy birthday little sis! I love you soooo much!" After that, a surprise hug was much needed.

Shay was precious, and her first reaction, that adorable bubble of laughter and the way she melted into his cuddling, meant the world to him. "I didn't have to, no… but I wanted to, and that's what counts, sweetheart." He would've appreciated it all more, but he knew once the blindfold was off, she'd start getting swarmed by everyone lurking around, with an merciless, good intentioned zest. And the first, bafflingly enough, was his boyfriend, and one of his favorite possessions, Mikhainon.

He was as dramatic and glamorous as ever, that was for sure! Mikh loved to make an impression. Klaus placed a reassuring, protective hand on Shay's shoulder as they had their little interaction, though he didn't interrupt it. He knew better than that. There were some things she needed to experience for herself. The gift appeared to be glorified stalking magic, which Klaus found absolutely hilarious. He muffled a laugh over the thought of what his daughter would get up to with her new toy. He gave his lover a nod. This was a good move.

Klaus backed up a bit and grinned at Sherry, one of his newer daughters, when she came over to him. She was a little angel, if he was being honest, and he was glad to have her in the family. "Aw, c'mon, let's be real. Did you ever doubt me in the first place? I'm the best at cool, kiddo. Coolest dad in the universe, even." He pushed up his sunglasses, letting them glint in the sun, to signify his point. Which was likely that he was ridiculous, but nothing if not fun. Klaus reached over, putting his arm around Sherry's shoulders and pulling her into a half-hug, rubbing her back. "You're such a good kid. I hope you have fun today too."

A welter of other people crowded Shay, as Klaus expected, and he kept a careful eye on this. He was ready to step in if needed, shoo them away. There was a present table, and plenty of activities for guests to amuse themselves and each other with, so this made him roll his eyes a bit behind the dark sunglasses, impossible to catch. The perfect snark crime. He gave Nico, cheshire cat boy, a wave and smile, amused by his formality. "Hey there, sharp dressin' jazzy cat." The bodyguards appeared to go take a break, which he allowed (in the end, Klaus was the top bodyguard to Shay).

Klaus couldn't help but dissolve in a fit of giggles when Shay received a treasure bag. This was starting to look like one of his birthdays. How Rosales appropriate! And Shay was doing such a good job with the pleasantries and socializing. God, she'd come a long way, and in such a short timespan. He was really proud of her.

He noticed Shay's small, odd, often hostile friend shyly lurking around. He was happy the girl was comfortable enough, or, he should say, enjoyed Shay enough to show up here, in such a loud unknown situation. He worried about that one. He'd seen a lot in the Underground, as it was his home, and it appeared to be her home as well-- but in her case, that wasn't a pleasant thing.

Klaus was desensitized to a lot of evil, or outright liked some of it, as he was a crimelord and a demon. But not this kind. Never, never the kind that involved children. His chest hurt when he looked at that girl. He hoped Shay could be of help to her, as he knew it wasn't yet his place to go too close, too fragile a situation, and he was… well, he knew who he was.

And there his dear kitten was! She was carrying around something rather large, which made Klaus raise an eyebrow. It was Addy, so this gift was almost guaranteed to be a little out of control or outlandish, but he couldn't claim to not be guilty of the same habits. "Cute dress, kitty!" Klaus said, tipping up his sunglasses for a wink at his bouncy daughter. Green looked lovely on her!

Klaus took any presents handed off to him, promptly and pointedly placing them all on the present table, and hopefully this would give people a clue. Sheesh. He watched Addy's opened, blinking. Well, that was definitely something, wasn't it? He'd have to talk to Shay about using and practicing with that safely, later, but he was far from the no fun police for, so he'd wait. They'd have a lot to talk about after the party either way, too. He predicted them both passing out first, then maybe chatting about it over some popcorn and LuxTV.

Klaus watched Shay set down the scythe, then seem to give her sister a farewell. He could see where this was going, lips twitching with his continued amusement. Shay turned right around, pulled open his coat, and went under it, making a Shay shaped bump under the fabric. Dramatic kingpin coats were very useful as children hidey-holes. Klaus' smile softened, and he put his arms tight around his baby.

Klaus' face lit up as soon as he heard that trumpet. Oh, lord, he'd forgotten about the Birthday Fairy! This guy was a riot, a novelty at parties, and their cake tasted fucking mindblowing. Klaus had know them for years and years now, as they'd been to all his birthdays and a lot of his friend's and family's birthdays, and reacted very jovially to their presence. "Pip! Pipster! What a pleasure, as always! You're here to see Eroshay? That's great!" He patted her through his coat. "Mm. She's just feeling a little overwhelmed right now, but you can stick around. It's great to see you, bud."

He looked again at Rho and Sherry, the cuties. "Just give her some time."

To Shay, in a much, much quieter voice, for her only, he said, "Hiya. You wanna talk? You wanna snug? You want me to kidnap you from your own party for a bit for a breather? Say the word, and your dad will make it happen. Love you." Unwrapping his coat momentarily, he kissed the top of her head, then re-hid her.
