Adelene had to hold back that frustrated whimper trying to escape her throat. The lamb was cute but... Hold on, she had no reason to feel frustrated. It was just because she loved stroking Lochlann's hair and thinking it calms him down. Oh well.

She let out an awkward chuckle as she put her hand on the sheep's back, playing with its fluffy wool. It was also soft. The sheep was like a pillow all of a sudden, and she felt like snuggling against it.

"Waaah... So soft..." She mumbled as she rubbed her face against the wool. She didn't care whether the lamb was dirty of something or not.

"Loch," she called, pushing her upper body up with her elbow so she could see him. And then she held out her hand to him, the one that was on the fluffy lamb. "Lochlann, it's really soft, like a pillow. Come closer, it feels really nice and warm."

"Waaah... So soft..."

"Loch," "Lochlann, it's really soft, like a pillow. Come closer, it feels really nice and warm."

Lochlann blinked up at her and laughed. He couldn't help it, that was so damn cute.

He mirrored her posture, rolling onto his side even though it hurt. He grabbed the bottle and took a mouthful before setting it back down and moving his hand onto the lamb. It was soft. Lochlann gave a small smile, petting the lamb. His fingers brushed hers once, but he moved them back quickly, patting the lamb on the head.

"One of my lambs took a prize at the county fair," Lochlann said. It was the closest he'd came to bragging in a while, and he perked up, excited at the memory. "my sister, Lilly, was like 'loch no way he'll never win' because we didn't think he'd make it that long. His mother died giving birth, so we had to bottle feed him.

He sighed, closing his eyes, resting his head on his arm. "I think you'd like it. They really snuggle up to you. I sort of miss holding things like that."

She kept playing with the wool in her hands after that, settling down beside the sheep and continuing to snuggle it. She... She didn't mind getting to touch Lochlann's hand, for some reason, even though she wasn't sure her friend would like it. She shrugged, and listened to Lochlann's story.

"That's adorable," she said. She was the one starting to get sleepy this time, mostly because of the fluffiness of the sheep. "You haven't been able to snuggle with them lately?" she asked, referring to what Lochlann said last.

It was almost funny to her, and not in a good way, how Lochlann kept on telling her stuff from his past, all these sheep stories and such, and she wouldn't even tell him anything. She felt bad. Opening her eyes, she raised her head again to briefly look at him, before resting it again.

Trying to think of a story to share, she realized there wasn't anything that was good. "I wish my life were simpler..."

"That's adorable," . "You haven't been able to snuggle with them lately?"

"No," Lochlann made a soft noise that might have been a laugh. His fingers brushed hers again and very slowly, he moved an inch closer to her and the sheep. He thought it was so he didn't have to stretch his arm so far to pet the sheep, but if he was being honest, he just wanted to be near her.

He was saved from having to elaborate by her final comment: "I wish my life were simpler..."

Me too, Lochlann thought, I wish I didn't kill and eat everyone I've loved or that I wasn't so grateful to be hurt because it means you'll stand a good chance against me if I snap.

Instead, he murmured, "That makes two of us."

He touched her hand again and this time he didn't let go, propping his head up on his elbow to look at her. "Do you think we could do this again, some time? Only I won't ask any awkward questions--hopefully-- and we already know the sheep is pretty mellow so we can avoid any bodily harm.

He was smiling, enjoying teasing her a little over his bruised side. "It's just nice getting to actually talk someone. And I promise, I won't ask you out for dinner anymore...unless you'd want me to, but shhh, you know what i mean."

Adelene didn't pull away. For some reason, contact with another person now felt really comforting, even though it wasn't like that before. It's probably Leon's fault, her best friend's fault. Adelene's smile even grew wider, as she moved her hand to gingerly hold on Lochlann's as well. She didn't really know what she was doing, she just knew it felt nice. So Lochlann must feel the same way, right?

"I'd love to hang out again," she replied, looking up at him. She chuckled at the thought of dinner though. "I dunno about dinner... I'll think about it. Also... I wonder if it's okay not to drag the sheep along next time..? Ah, I dunno, I'm just thinking."

She cuddled with the sheep again, and her smile pretty much did all the talking about how comfortable she already was. She was quickly starting to feel sleepy. It had to be after training too so... Maybe she was also tired.

"...Maybe I shouldn't lie down." With that, Adelene pushed herself up and pulled away from the sheep and Lochlann's hand. She faced them though, so they wouldn't think she hated it. "I feel sleepy. I... don't really want to fall asleep yet."

"I'd love to hang out again," "I dunno about dinner... I'll think about it. Also... I wonder if it's okay not to drag the sheep along next time..? Ah, I dunno, I'm just thinking."

"Oh no," Lochlann said, suddenly serious. "The sheep is not optional. He is coming everywhere with me. I am going to train him to wear a back-pack and hold my wallet and other goods. The babes will not be able to resist me if I'm shirtless and have a cute lamb walking on a leash."

He almost made it through that entire sentence without laughing. Almost, but by the time he got to the part about being shirtless he was snickering.

He was feeling pretty good, especially since she agreed to hang out with him again. This is what Lochlann missed about other people, just this.

"...Maybe I shouldn't lie down. I feel sleepy. I... don't really want to fall asleep yet."

The sheep looked at her, betrayed that she sat up and stopped petting him like she had some sort of choice in the matter, but Lochlann didn't get up. He smiled up at her lazily.

"Yeah now that i'm down here I don't really have a desire to get up. I didn't know how I got to be so tired," he said. "I don't really fall asleep either but it seems like I have to get up to not fall asleep, and I don't want to do that, and ughhhhh...when did I become so lazy?"

He eyed her for a moment, and then said, "Do you want me to walk you back? Not that you need to be walked back, but I mean, if you're planning on going, I could walk you--oh god I'm ruining this sentence."

He buried his face in his hands and gave a frustrated groan.

"Wh...what..?"

Three seconds, before Adelene burst out laughing at the remark about the sheep. She was trying to imagine how it would look like, and with Lochlann looking all serious about it, she can't help but find it to be one of the funniest things she's heard recently.

Why did guys always joke around her by being embarrassing??

Her laugh wasn't even the soft kind of laugh one would usually hear from a very small girl. She was really laughing aloud, clutching on her stomach as it began to hurt.

She tried her best to stop though. Just in time to hear Lochlann ask to walk her. She chuckled. He looked adorable being all flustered, she can't help but pat him again. He was really cute for a really tall person.

"I don't mind. Though honestly, if only I weren't sleepy, I would stay much longer," she answered. "You're fun, Loch. I guess I wouldn't mind being friends with you... Is... that okay?"

Wh...what..?"

She started to laugh and didn't seem to be able to stop, so Lochlann pretended to look hurt, although he was snickering too. "Ugh, right in the ego, to know that you cannot be seduced by back-pack sheep and abs."

Still, then he'd screwed up the walking thing, although he relaxed when her fingers were on his head again. God damn.

"I don't mind. Though honestly, if only I weren't sleepy, I would stay much longer," she answered. "You're fun, Loch. I guess I wouldn't mind being friends with you... Is... that okay?"

"I would like that," Lochlann said, dropping his hands from his face. He made a face as he sat up, but what he said earlier was true--the booze had numbed any left over pain. He grabbed the lamb and put it over his shoulders, and then offered her a hand.

A wide smile formed on the girl's lips. She's always hesitant about it, but she had realized recently that having friends is nice, and she wanted more of them, and Lochlann was an awesome and adorable person she wanted to hang out with every now and then at the very least.

"Awesome!" She took his hand and stood up, with an attempt to pull Lochlann with her. "Don't worry, Loch. I thought you'd be adorable walking around like that. But awkward," she teased with a smirk.

She let him go and picked up the bottle, before going for their bags. She wore hers on one shoulder, and kept Lochlann's in her hands, not knowing if she'd insist carrying it or if she'd give it to him. Because he was carrying the sheep. It was so adorable, really.

"I'm heading to the college dorm. Let's talk more on the way!"
