Skittles glanced up at him, wondering if he was planning on making an apology harder, but found instead, that he was completely serious. This caused her to blush and think she was making a big deal out of nothing again. "Um... Nevermind. Forget I said anything." she said quickly, in what she hoped was an off hand manner.

She was really beginning to wish that there was some way to retreat from a conversation without actually retreating. She was feeling slightly overwhelmed. She wasn't used to dealing with such friendly, non-offense-taking people.

His comment made her blush again, and she ground out, "Oh apparently it's possible, though it doesn't help when somebody points it out." she said shortly, crossing her arms and looking slightly perturbed.

Then she moved forward to pick up her battery powered fan, which had died by then. "And yes I am very shy." she added, making sure the power was off before she picked the thing up.

However, as she went to pick the thing up, by some force that can only be explained as her extreme accident prone-ness, she tumbled forward and wound up on her knees. She sighed and just stayed in that position, trying to get herself under control.

Skittles allowed herself to be helped up, and bit her lower lip to keep from crying. She didn't look down at her knees, but instead reached down a hand and silently healed them, though the blood that had escaped still was there.

Tears stung at her eyes, but it just made her eyes look slightly more watery that normal. "Yeah. I'm fine." she said softly, in a very unconvincing manner.

She shook her head and looked away. "I'll be fine. I'm going to change the batteries in it. That's all." she pointed to a black backpack not far away.

He watched her heal herself and seemed impressed. "You say you're okay, and your wound looks okay, but your tone and face don't imply that you're okay. I'm confused." He walked over and picked up the backpack. He unzipped it and stuck his hand inside, finding the batteries and tossing them to her. Normally he would've asked her permission to open the bag or at least given it to her, but in this case he figured with how upset she looked that he would rather not bother, instead cutting to the chase and moving on with the situation.

Normally, Skittles would have been annoyed that he'd just dug around her backpack, but she was feeling rather weak at the moment, so instead she caught the batteries he threw at her, and sat down.

She flipped the fan upside down, and in a matter of seconds removed the old batteries and put in new ones. She sniffed quietly, and rubbed her eye before she could actually cry. She hated crying in front of people, but she felt helpless at that moment.

She glanced up at him, surprised he hadn't left because of her rudeness yet. "Why are you still here?" she asked, cocking her head to the side, still nibbling on her lower lip to keep herself under control, "I'm sure you've got lots of better company you could keep."

Trying to follow Paul's train of thought took so much concentration that she forgot about feeling sorry for herself. By the end, she was so confused, that she just stared at him. "Umm...Sure...." she said tentatively, trying to sort out her confusion.

One part of his words finally clicked, and she stood up quickly, though she swayed as she attempted to get her sense of balance back. "Erm. Kay. Well I can leave you alone to think then." she smiled in a confused way, shutting off the fan and cocking her head at him.

"Um.. but I don't remember what i was thinking about. Unless you want me to think about you. But that sounds sort of strange, yes?" Paul never really thought things through to well when he said them. "You swayed a little... are you sure you aren't suffering from heat stroke? Maybe you should see the nurse.."
