For a moment, Skittles froze, unable to think really, with somebody whose name she didn't even know so close to her. In the end though, the invasion of her personal space made her slightly more bold. She put her hands on his shoulder and pushed him back slightly, stepping a little bit away.

"Kay. Let's try this again." she said sharply, extending one hand to him. "I'm Skittles. And you are?" she questioned, though she was quickly losing her nerve again.

The inner her was screaming to holler at him for invading her space, but she didn't. She just waited silently for this strange boy to do something or say something else. And she really didn't want to answer all of his questions about fear. She knew she shouldn't have said anything about being scared of him.

Skittles narrowed her eyes at him. "Well I don't make a habit of telling people I just meet how I'm feeling. But since you can apparently sense it so well, why should I bother expressing it?" she asked, crossing her arms after he'd shaken her hand and raising a brow in question.

She rubbed her forehead. It still hurt from that collision with the ledge. "I'm sorry. You didn't deserve that. I've just got a headache." she said in a defeated tone. She hated meeting people. She always messed it up so badly.

She didn't know why she was feeling so defensive. Everything coming from him was either happy, or non-attacking. Something about him made her want to hug him, but at the same time she wanted to run.

"You didn't know I could sense it until I told you, yes? Not everyone can cheat like I can." He smiled. Nothing she said offended him at all. He could sense her regret and discomfort and figured she was trying her best. "A headache? Maybe you're having heat stroke.. we should get you inside to some water..." He never saw the wound and knew nothing about it.

She could feel herself beginning to relax. "I can kinda cheat. But only for deep down inside." she said cryptically. She didn't go into any further detail, since it was usually scary for some people.

"No.. It's not sunstroke. I know that for sure. I just whacked my head on that ledge over there," she gestured over to it absently, "just a few seconds before you tripped." she knew she was going to regret openly admitting to her being accident prone, but something about him made her want to reach out, now that she'd gotten past the whole, invasion of personal space issue.

She shifted slighly, nibbling on her pink nail again. "Speaking of that, are you sure you're okay? 'cause I can heal any scratches or whatever..." she trailed off, mind wandering to what would happen if the sun suddenly eclipsed and if it would cool off suddenly or graduly.

"I'm perfectly fine." He stretched his arms. "But.. you have a healing ability? That seems useful." He had been begging Corona to teach him how to use the healing ability that he mentioned one day. Hey, speaking of Corona, why hadn't he said anything yet?

Paul didn't realize it, but he was staring off into the distance while thinking. Actually, he was 'staring' at Skittles, but not on purpose. And the way he was positioned, it almost seemed like he was checking her out or thinking perverted thoughts. This was untrue, but she probably didn't know that.

Skittles tried not to blush, and convinced herself that he was probably just looking through her. Which gave her the bravery to wave her hands in front of his eyes. "Hey Paul, why do you have two souls?" she questioned in her innocent way, unaware of whether or not it would make him uncomfortable.

She asked simply because it wasn't like a schitzophrenic person. His was really two entirely different souls. She could feel it. They were both carefree, but one was...well..for lack of a better word, entirely pure. It was interesting. Maybe the feeling she got from the two combined was why she was opening up so quickly.

"And yeah. I can heal.. Just small things though, or surface heal huge gashes..." she shuddered, "If I don't pass out first."

"Hmm.. you can sense that?" He snapped out of it when she asked. "Well.. its really complicated." Paul began to explain how he had the soul of an angel within him, and that it was basically his 'power'. He also mentioned how every human had the innate potential to have the abilities he has, but it was near impossible for a human to unlock these abilities alone.

Skittles relaxed slightly. She'd known lots of people who wore crosses who had been less that savory, but apparently this guy was for real. "Wow. That must be really neat." she said, cocking her head in interest. Random, shy Canadian she was, but she could never resist something interesting and unique. She always needed the whys. She refrained from asking anything further, since she knew she'd probably just wind up getting confused.

"So I guess you rarely have people who are scared of you, huh?" she asked slightly sheepishly. It made her feel foolish for how she had acted. After all, she should have tested what she sensed FIRST and acted second, but instead she'd done it the other way around. She stared at her feet. "Err.. Sorry.." once again, the urge to sink into a very deep hole came over her, but she still remained where she was.

"No... usually not. I have people that try to kill me, instead." He said it in a joking way, but it was actually quite accurate. He didn't seem to quite understand what her apology was for, and looked at her with a questioning face. "I'm afraid I don't understand. Why are you apologizing?" He wasn't usually one to take offense to every single little thing. Most of the time, he forgot the situation entirely.
