Personality Description
Ashkii is a quiet soul, preferring to spend her time with her nose in a book when she isn't tending to the family ranch. She enjoys spending her time outside, and has a great sense of honor and duty towards her family. She is fiercely loyal, and should she ever get into a fight, will fight honorably against her opponent and will try to prevent death if possible. It would be foolish to say that she enjoys those fights, but she admits to herself that she loves a good brawl in her tiger form. Her friends say that she is quiet and meditative, but Ashkii thinks of herself as a introspective. She also enjoys a good swim, given her tiger nature.
Powers
Immortality. Ashkii was one of the last few were tigers born on the island, and perhaps her family thought that they were doing her a favor by granting immortality, but such gifts demand a price. In exchange for the gift granted by a rather dubious witch, Ashkii would have to give up her first born to the witch, whenever that time would come. That bargain was made nearly sixty years ago, and Ashkii has never mated to produce offspring. She is aware of the price, watching her family grow old and weak, and is resentful of it. She does not blame her family though, who were only trying to preserve their line, but she hopes to find a different way to repay the price.
Were-tiger. Since she is a were tiger, she has all of the same inherent traits and abilities as a tiger when in that form. Outside of that form, she has excellent hearing and night vision but does not retain any of her other abilities in her human form, and if she consumes a rare steak or two every now and then, no one can really blame her for it.
Biography
Born on the family ranch nearly sixty years ago, Ashkii is the only child of two cattle ranchers, which is a rather odd profession for a family of were tigers to have. The ranch had been in the family for generations, started by her great grandfather who wished to have a rather steady income and supply of fresh meat. This proved to work out very well for her great grandfather, but over the years, the family line slowly withered until she was the last child that was born into it. Her parents, under the misguidance of a witch's henchman, made a desperate deal with one to save the family line.....at a great price. Ashkii would be last, and only, child her mother would have. The price would be to give up the chance to see their line flourish again for Ashkii's grant of immortality, and Ashkii herself would have to give up her first born for the witch's own purpose. At the time, her parents agreed readily, not knowing how difficult the price would be to bear.....on them all.
Despite this, Ashkii grew up with a happy childhood, always eager to help and to learn. She was taught the ways of the ranch as well as the ways of the tiger, growing into a fine young woman....and never aging beyond the look of a young woman in her twenties. She still takes care of her family and the ranch, knowing that the full responsibility of it will pass to her when her parents die, but until then, she searches for a way to pay back the price.
Additional Information
The Nightrunner Ranch is located out the countryside of Manta Carlos, and supplies many of the grocers with beef and other foodstuffs for rather delicate tastes. The ranch does not process the meat at the ranch, but sells the animals to be done with as needed.
