it all happened so fast, one moment they were riding smoothly and then they nearly smashed into a car, James blinked in a dazed confusion as Jay looked him over for injuries, "I'm ok...," his slight slur apparent. In truth he wasn't sure if the tentacle he had had kept him from smashing into the car or if he had just missed it.

He pulled the helmet off and shook his head trying to clear it again, his vision suddenly blurred and he grabbed a hold of the bike to keep from falling, needless to say being drunk and then kinda jarred by a new motorcycle accident was probably a bad mix.

He took a breath, "sorry....I'm ok," he wasn't really sure why he was apologizing, maybe for him putting her in this situation. He looked up at her, "are you ok?" he asked genuinely concerned, despite everything he'd been through James always showed concern for others.

She was probably fine, however it irked her that James had said he was sorry, it wasn't as if he had done anything wrong. Unless he had forced Jay to take drugs about fifty years ago then it wasn't his fault, besides he wasn't even born yet, well if he was human. "I am sorry" the voice a bit sheepishly, "I should have warned you ahead of time" but it never really happened otherwise when she was driving and she didn't want to lose her Harley, if a kid she barely squealed. She felt bad, she shouldn't put the bike ahead of the living.

He shook his head, "it's ok," he couldn't be angry at her over an accident, even one that could have cost him his life, maybe it was the booze or maybe it was the fact that he was questioning whether or not he deserved to live anyways.

"Are you hurt?" he asked, still more concerned with her than with himself, his head spun a bit and he had to grab at the bike to hold his balance, once again, booze and a near car accident was a bad combo.

He looked up at her his head still dazed but his eyes showing his continually selfless concern, "if you're hurt then we need to get you to a doctor," all with the slight sure caused by the alcohol in his system, but drunk or not, he cared more about others.

"I am ok, just pissed of at myself" Or rather her younger self, if she hadn't been stupid wen she was growing up this wouldn't have happened, though on the other hand she wouldn't be herself. She, despite it all, treasured her experiences, with them she could help the kids.

"How bout we go inside and get you something to eat" her own stomach growled at the thought. Both seemed ok and she would keep an eye on James just in case, she opened the door and hoped he would forget about it and continue inside.

He looked at her, despite his drunken state, concern could be clearly seen on his face, his stomach growled and he pushed the thought aside and entered the restaurant, he quickly took a seat and waited for Jay to join him.

He rubbed the side of his head trying to clear the fog from it, "sorry, it was my fault, you shouldn't have to deal with me." He didn't like the idea of his troubles affecting others. He got his wallet out and pulled some cash from it, "I'll pay for the food." he had emptied out Garret's safe when everything was over, he had gotten a part time job and actually spent very little, so he had a decent amount of money. "Everything on me, as an apology."

Wait what! It was his fault? How? She was the one who ruined her arm with drugs in the past, it was she who drove the Harley knowing she could get the shakes, she just usually got them in the morning and not in traffic. Not only that but James hadn't done anything intentionally to ruin the balance while she had been driving.

"Now you listen to me, it was my fault and and I offered to pay for the food and I will not have it any other way" She wasn't angry with him though she wanted what was right to be right, what she said was correct and she would be stubborn about it "Get in here now and order before Ill drag you in" She said jokingly as an attempt to lighten the mood

He cocked his head at her, this kindness was something he just wasn't used to, but he didn't argue, he nodded and slipped into the restaurant and quickly took a seat. he held his head as another spell of dizziness hit him. "So....uh....." He just didn't know what to say, he was normally a pretty quiet kid.

He pulled a menu to him and looked at it, he had been out to eat a few times with Nyota, he quickly ordered a pizza, he had heard that things with bread often helped with drunkenness, "so.....why are you doing this?" he just didn't get this kindness, she didn't know him, didn't owe him anything.
