"Guess it is," Tavish said mumbled. He turned to William and gave him a look once he started talking to him like he was a five-year-old. He rolled his eyes and waved. "Yeah, yeah. Fine, whatever." And he was out of the room.

Tavish had offered out of courtesy. And maybe out of curiosity. He had sort of hoped that William would eat with him. They could talk a little more, share details that they never meant to explicitly share but they do anyway. It seemed that wasn't going to happen though. He would really be pushing his luck if he tried to convince William to eat with him. But even that's not his style.

The important thing is that the seed was planted without too much of a hassle. That was always the easy part. Now he'll have to get ready for the harder part, taking care of the seedling until it at least grows tough enough. And even that would take years. Metaphorically. He didn't know if it would apply between him and Tavish, though a long time of friendship and companionship certainly is a must if he wants to change William's mindset.

Got your PM.
I think we should end this here. Don't want to compress too many events in one day.

''I am going back to sleep'', William said after a few minutes of blankly staring at the doors after Tavish was gone. He had expected Spirit to start rebuking him from his behaviour once they were left alone in the room, but the wolf seemed content to simple sit by his legs and stare into space as well, something for which William was currently thankful for. He was too confused, his emotions too all over the place, for him to listen and even pretend to pay attention to whatever Spirit would try to tell him, let alone to actually do so.

''Wake me up if I start dreaming'', he added a few moments later after he had kicked off his jeans and T-shirt, exchanging them for a softer, looser pair of sleep wear and no shirt. He wasn't sure whether he was going to have a nightmare again. Sometimes he would get only one per night. Sometimes he would feel darkness creeping up his spine every time he closed his eyes. Guessing which night would be which was like trying read with your eyes closed, which is to say, impossible. But at least, if he was going to wake up screaming again, he could get some rest before that, and hopefully before Tavish returned to see him in that state yet again.

Closing his eyes, this time willingly, William feel asleep to the soft murmurs of his spirits seemingly talking amongst themselves. For the first few hours, he did not dream.
