A long, long nap.

Or, at least, that's what it felt like. Gabe's eyes slowly blinked open as the buzzing of a cell phone seemed to echo in the living room. He attempted to pull himself up but found himself awkwardly tangled up and struggling to maintain a good balance. How did he get so tangled up in his blanket on the couch? He glanced down, noticing the rather warm body of his boyfriend underneath him instead. Oh. Oh. That makes much more sense. The memories of earlier that morning came rushing back. The crying, the talking, the eventual cuddling that led to them drifting into sleep on the couch. He felt a smile form as he pulled himself onto his hands and knees to the best of his abilities but kept his gaze locked on Yuki's face.

It felt so... strange. Being like this. Just having each other so close without anyone else around. But there was no stress, no panic, no worries. It was just Gabriel and Yuki in a quiet moment all to themselves. "Good afternoon, Yuki." He whispered softly, leaning back down to press his lips against the other boy's cheek. The sound of the cell phone vibrating went off again and Gabe attempted to locate its source. After a few moments, the buzzing would lead Gabe to check the floor and pull up a phone that was most definitely not his. He didn't recognize the number and moved once again to loom over Yuki. His hair was wild and unkempt at the moment, almost blocking his eyes.

"Yuki, wake up. Your phone is buzzing... I will keep pestering you until you wake up." He hummed, leaning down and stopping just above his boyfriend's face. Gabe wanted to give him a proper kiss but it would be rude to do that to someone who's asleep. Consent is important and a certain Disney movie needed to remember that.

"It's been a good afternoon, Yuki. One of the best days I've spent in my life... Thanks to you." Sir Gabe offered Prince Yuki a quick peck on the cheek as the firework display began, his armour clanking a bit as he moved to wrap his arms around the young prince. The two locked eyes as the sky lit up with reds, blues, greens and yellows and the smell of gunpowder and Gabe's floral scent filled the air. Gabe tenderly wrapped his arms around Yuki's neck, pulling him in slowly for the final kiss before--

"...you wake up." The dream faded. Yuki's eyes fluttered open and he squinted at the source of the noise. "...Sir Gabe?" He mumbled. "Sir Gabe, just kiss me... don't let this dream be interrupted..." Already he was slipping back into fantasyland, Sir Gabe holding him up as he'd apparently had a fainting spell.

Well, that was new.

But who was he to say no? Gabe grinned, leaning down, pressing his lips against the other boy's once, twice, three times before pulling away. "Come on, Yukes. As much fun as it would be to keep kissing you for the rest of the day," He hummed, his cheeks slightly red at the thought, "Your phone is buzzing a lot which means the food should be here? And I don't know what you did so I can't just... grab it for us. So I need you to wake up."

Gabe let out a small laugh, slowly attempting to untangle himself from his trapped position. He had no idea how Yuki's legs were so awkwardly wrapped around his but it was very amusing. And sweet.

Prince Yuki felt Sir Gabe's warmth course through him as they locked lips at last, their hands and hearts intertwining as the two of them shared an intimate moment. Slowly Yuki was pulled up and they kissed again, and again. Eventually Yuki was dragged into reality, and looked into the real Gabe's eyes with a mushy look.

Then he realised he was awake.

Slowly propping himself up with what little groggy strength he had, he felt his voice gurgle from the depths of slumber. And he was just going to put away the possibility that he'd spoken any of his dream lines out loud. He could deal with that later.

"I'm awake..." He groaned, rolling off the couch with a soft 'oof' and picking up his phone. It was Jamie. The food would arrive any moment now. Yuki dragged himself to the bathroom and looked at his face in the mirror, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and washing his face before applying concealer and eye drops anew.

"Food'll be here any second." He said, still too sleepy to add any of the usual pep into his voice. He just wanted to cuddle up with Gabe all day, really. But he soon would be able to show his boyfriend the thrill of fine dining. That was enough to make him smirk to himself a bit.

Gabe let out a small laugh as Yuki rolled away. Was this what Yuki was normally like when he first woke up? It was very adorable and he'd definitely have to remember that later. When his boyfriend wandered off down the hall to apparently wash up, Gabe quickly ran his hand through his hair a few times to try and get rid of the messy feeling. It was starting to get a bit too long; maybe it was time to get it cut again?

When Yuki returned, Gabe had adjusted himself to be sitting in a more proper position on the couch. Still relaxed, but not lazily draped as he had been previously. "Good afternoon, Yukes. How was your nap?" He grinned, holding out an arm to guide his boyfriend to come sit next to him and cuddle more, if he wanted.

Yuki actually fist pumped as he saw Gabe offer the chance to cuddle more and immediately took it. Warmth was good. Warmth was fun. Warmth was comfortable. "m still sleepy." He slurred, even though he was starting to wake up a little more. The next time they had a sleepover, it was going to be at Yuki's house. So he could just force Gabe to stay cuddled up with him all day and just be lazy and have a good, relaxing time. Without stress or drama or unnecessary character development.

"Also, call me something else. Like Yu-chan or Yuyu or whatever. Yukes makes me feel like I'm a dog or a pet or something. Snow works too." He nuzzled into Gabe more, enjoying the softness and low-key hoping the doorbell wouldn't ring soon.

Gabe tried his best to hide his laughter when Yuki physically fist pumped before moving into cuddle once again. The moment Yuki was in a comfortable position, the plant user immediately pulled his arm around his boyfriend's waist to move him closer. The warmth was perfect, but dangerous. It made Gabe want to doze right back off to sleep. But food would be arriving soon and that meant settling the growing ache in their stomachs.

"I'll find a nickname that you'll like eventually." Gabe whispered, looking down at Yuki snuggling in even more. "But as long as I can keep calling you boyfriend, that's good enough for me."

"Are you stupid? Of course you can call me boyfriend." He chuckled lightly, ruffling Gabe's hair (which he realised he liked a lot. He wanted Gabe to keep it at this length.) then grew silent for a moment. "...I'm comfortable with us now." He added, more quietly.

The doorbell rang, and Yuki silently cursed his luck as he put on his butterfly persona, straightening his posture and wearing a polite, pleasant smile as he opened the door to a young-looking waitress. "Meal service for Master Hayashi?" The girl inquired, and Yuki nodded. It was strange, he thought. Even though he was dressed so casually and this apartment building was far from fancy, the girl seemed far from fazed. He was impressed by the level of training the restaurant employed.

"Yes, that's me. We shan't need anything else, so I shall leave the trolley out with a message to the restaurant." He said, fishing out a fifty dollar bill. "My tip." He smiled, pleased at the girl's flustered expression. "Keep the change."

"Th...thank you."
She nodded, face lighting up. Yuki loved it when they did that. "And, uh, this is a gift from... Miss Jamie, I think it was?" She began as she brought out a bottle of non-alcoholic Sauvignon. Yuki blinked. Wow. Did his patronage really mean that much? It wasn't like he'd used the concierge service often.

"Thank you! I'll be sure to send her my gratitude later. Have a good day!" He beamed as he brought the trolley in. He could already smell the beautiful aroma rising from the trays...

Gabe watched Yuki pull away to answer the door and frowned a little at the sudden lack of warmth. Slowly rising up from his seat to start figuring out a way to help set up for their lunch, he couldn't help but watch as the meals seemed to be on fancy platters with lids on them? It seemed very fancy and Gabe wasn't prepared for that. And even a bottle of wine!? What exactly did Yuki do for this food!? What kind of fancy delivery place did he know?

With a long sigh, Gabe sat down at the small kitchen table and waited for his boyfriend to bring the trolley in. He was ready to help, but the look Yuki had given him had told him to just sit down and wait for Yuki to get it set up. The smell of fine cooking wafted from the trays and Gabe could almost feel himself drooling at its scent. The food had to be something he'd probably never eaten before but he would try anything once. Especially if Yuki had gone out of his way to order something so fancy.

"Yuki, this looks like a lot... I didn't expect this kind of set up for lunch. I was thinking something like... take out from the Chinese place down the street or something." He laughed. "But I'm looking forward to it."

Yuki felt his stomach drop a little as Gabe began about wanting something simpler. Oh god. Had he messed up? Had he made a mistake? Gabe had said he was excited, but... Well, he looked happy enough. Yuki felt a little uncomfortable still but most of it drained away as Gabe laughed. That angelic sound filled his heart with reassurance. Good.

"Well, I just thought..." He said as he set up the cutlery in the correct positions (dessert fork and spoon on top, three forks left, two knives right, spoon, seafood fork, no need for bread plates or knives... all good!) "I thought it would be nice. I've always...always wanted to, um, to dine. With someone I care about. That wasn't family." He faltered, but then laughed a bit as he set a napkin on Gabe's lap. Hopefully he could stop being a downer and just enjoy this lovely meal. With his lover looking him right in the eyes. With giggling. And conversation. And for goodness' sake, they'd even included a candlestick and matches?! Well, he wasn't going to refuse...

"So the first dish is a scallop tartare. That's, erm, it's kind of like sashimi, so you eat it raw. Like a raw fish cake! This particular one has been prepared with shiitake mushroms, dashi and daiso. So it's Japanese-inspired." He could feel his smile growing as he gained his confidence. Hopefully he could wow Gabe with his knowledge. "Oh, but erm, if there's anything you can't eat, let me know. I know you said you couldn't eat fruit, so..." He trailed off, finally taking off the cloches and putting his phone on silent. It already smelled wonderful - a fresh scent of the sea was accompanied by a whiff of saltiness from the dashi and the shiso provided a peppery, minty fresh scent. "Oh, and don't worry. The shiso is what helps keep the dish safe to eat. Be sure to consume it too at the end if you want to play it safe." He reassured, remembering that most people would probably be put off by the idea of eating raw fish.

He took a moment to appreciate the look of the meal before clapping his hands together and muttering a quiet thank you for the food. It was well-plated, honestly. He'd make sure to go to this restaurant in person sometime. The flavours of the ocean burst in his mouth satisfyingly, as if he had dived into its depths himself and were now listening to the fish sing. It was rather well done indeed.
