When Kindness Coincides With Politics

Admittedly, this particular event was semi-related to the elections. Okay, so the deal was Anthia elected to join the Maid Cafe club. However, it turned out the club was lacking a leader. It seemed that the previous leader moved on, so now someone had to take the spot. They were looking for someone to step up, and that ended up being Annie. What, the meek sun elf you say?! Well, she got brave and chose to take up the task in order to learn more about business management as she also exercised her steadily growing cooking knowledge. It was a challenge, but she was willing to step up to the plate.

For her first order of business, she decided to use her executive powers to hold a fundraiser. On this day, the proceeds would go towards helping orphanages. It would help promote the club and cafe and help out the community. It was a win-win....it became a triple win when Annie later decided to campaign. So this situation was more of a happy accident. She just hoped that her political campaign didn't overshadow the fundraiser...

The girl stopped rushing about to welcome incoming guests in her lovely maid outfit. She still wasn't used to the uniform admittedly; it was really cute though! Hers was a bit different to signify that she was the club leader. The event was actually advertised before the campaigning process began; ads were spread throughout the city. She also had a pile of fliers about it at her cookie booth and a few in the art workshop. She hoped that she made the right move about this...

Annie did not expect to have a little cat suddenly hop up on an empty table and beg her to allow her to participate in the fundraiser event. However, the girl was very cute and the blonde did happen to need people. She contemplated what a little girl like her could do. She didn't want her in the kitchen where she could get hurt. Waitressing was possible but might be problematic depending on the customers' orders. Oh! She had an idea!

"Okay, okay! I have an important job for you then. First please get down from the table."

At that point, Logan walked in. The elf blinked as she was addressed. Her glance turned to look at the Vice President Candidate. Ooo, a unicorn! He was so pretty! She wanted to pet him, but that would be inappropriate for now. The girl beamed brightly.

"Hello! I'm Anthia Everglow-Rosales. I'm running for a seat in general but believe Treasurer would suit me. It's nice to meet you, sir!"

She curtsied politely.

"Now I must give...ah, I believe Annelisse her instructions."

The leader spun over to the kitten.

"You're going to be a greeter. You will stand here by this front podium and greet people that come in. If you see a clean, empty table with enough seats, then you take them to that table. If you do not, politely ask them to wait. If you're not sure about an empty table, just check the light on it. If it's good, then it'll be green."

This was a fairly simple, non-strenuous task.

"There's two other ladies that are greeters. They have this cute little badge."

Anthia would hand Anna a badge to put on her maid outfit.

"If you need help, ask them. And also feel free to chat a bit with the customers! Make them feel at ease."

Hopefully that would work out. She turned back to Logan.

"And oh, thank you! So you know my sister Shay?"

Anthia did not expect the offer to join forces. While yes, she very much enjoyed Dorian's company, he hadn't yet proposed the idea to her. The elf was blissfully unaware of the rivalry between Sage and Logan. She hadn't witnessed the fight in the fine dining event Dorian hosted. Thus she knew nothing of any possible ulterior motives behind this. All she saw was an offer, and she accepted it.

"Sure! I've spoken with Dorian before. He seemed to like my focus on helping the incoming students more and on implementing policies that would better enforce a friendly, welcoming environment for everyone."

She had no problems discussing specifics with Logan. There was no reason for her to hold back.

"I think it would be great if we work together! You also seem like a really nice person, so there's no need for us to fight, especially since we're not going for the same position."

Her position was to the side as well. She smiled and waved at incoming people as they talked, but she let the bulk of the greeting go to the greeters.

Anthia shook Logan's hand. It was a deal. Now they would be working together. This was of great benefit to Annie, and she hoped that she would please her teammates. That was when Anna tried to join in on the alliance as well. However, it turns out Vinanye was aiming for that role. So the pretty pale green-haired fae wanted to be secretary? She didn't recall hearing that point, but then again she had to process a lot of information recently. That was wonderful! She loved Vin too. This would be an awesome opportunity.

"I think we're okay on peop--"

"Why aren't you back in the kitchen, Annie?!"

Suddenly a flustered older classmate stormed out of the doors. She gazed at the leader with a mixture of panic and exasperation.

"I've been taking care of stuff out here. Is there something wrong?"

"We don't have enough hands to cook all of these orders! There's two tables worth of people, and all of them made really complicated requests!"

A sigh escaped the freshman's lips. It was odd being only a ninth grader and yet being the one that everyone looked to for help. Her glance switched back over to Logan.

"How good are you with cooking? I likely am going back there anyway, but it would be of great help if you could assist somehow."

She felt bad because this occurred just as she was about to offer her assistance to his campaign. Well, it would be a given that the kind young lady would help in any way possible. However, the first order of business was handling this ridiculous amount of food.
