"Oh, well... A few of the clubs I've been to recently..."

Pulling from memory, Lelei listed off a few prominent clubs around Manta Carlos city. Now Lelei frequented other establishments as well--He liked relaxing at a small, family-owned bar that was out of the way--but Cody was asking specifically about Clubs. All the clubs Lelei listed were of the upbeat dance variety, almost bordering on rave clubs. They were places that either colorful and vibrant, or had a nice beach-side venue in which to drink and dance. Only a few were out-and-out gay bars, but they all tended to have a significant population of randy young men in their clientele.

"... And you say you DJ occasionally? That... makes perfect sense considering your heritage. Unfortunately I don't think I've ever seen you play. But I'll keep an eye and ear out for you from now on."

Hopefully Cody was fine with just having a little fling, if he was interested at all. Lelei liked the young man, but he had so far not been interested in any kind of real relationship and he did not see himself getting into one any time soon. At the moment, he was simply happy having some casual encounters with boys he picked up at the clubs.

"You one of them DJs that likes to dress up in costumes or some such? Cause I can totally see you in something... bright and colorful. Maybe a little form fitting."

Cody wasn't exactly sure how to respond, good looking and into guys...that was awesome. He was hoping that Lelei would be up for a one stand or something because after Dante he was a bit on the rocks about dating. He was sure that lelei wouldn't become a creepy stalker. That was something he looked foreward to, sex without worry of possesive stalker.

"Tight jeans, a tight shirt and eye make-up" He said, he hand really thought of a costume, to be honest he felt like he was always wearing one. "Sometimes I let my wings out" He said shrugging as he focused on finishing cooking.

Once everything was done he set the table, a glass if red wine for him and a pot a coffee for Lelei. The plate he offered the officer had way more chicken on it than his and a couple of potatoes. "So uhm, what kind of things do you do in your free time, besides clubs?"

Lelei spent a few seconds wistfully imagining Cody in tight clothes and eye make-up. He had hoped that Cody would specify that his "tight jeans" were really of the "half-shorts" variety, the kind that frequently let the wearer's bottom slip out a little and were basically belts. But "tight jeans" were good enough for Lelei's imagination, and he appreciated a boy that did his face up pretty well. Imagining wings on Cody was proving more difficult, but the essentials were already in place so they did not matter as much.

"Sounds like my kind of outfit."

Not wanting to be rude, Lelei helped Cody finish cooking and set it all out afterward. The longer the "case" went on, the more it began to resemble a date between the two of them. He made a mental note to get right back into patrolling after eating. Good thing he could eat pretty quickly.

He tried to remain as polite as he could as he ate Cody's finely prepared dinner. His shark head and mouth prevented Lelei from eating completely civily. Lacking any cheeks and no flat teeth, he was unable to truly eat with his mouth closed without trying. Minimizing that kind of ugliness meant he had to swallow his food almost whole in big bites.

"As you can probably guess, I like to swim. Preferably in the ocean at night. It's much more peaceful and I like the cooler temperatures. Um... Workout... Oh! I've been learning how to sketch so I can replicate my peoples' tattoos! I was never taught how to do that before--"

Just as they neared the end of their meal, Lelei suddenly stopped and took on a serious look. He held up a hand to Cody to tell him to be quiet and still.

"... My electro-reception is sensing another entity nearby. It's near the house... and roughly human-sized... It's moving around now..."

Cody was enjoying the conversation, the thought that it resemembled a date hadn't even crossed his mind. He was just being a good host, and if he had realized exactly how it looked he would've turned bright red at the thought. He nodded along with Lelei's words though, he could totally see the working out thing but the sketching he was having a difficult time with. It just didn't seem like something the man would be doing, mostly because well it wasn't as hands on muscle baring as he would picture. He figured something like construction or building things, though that might've been his own fantasies taking over his mind.

"I'll admit that i've been avoiding the ocean for awhile, I'm not all that excited at seeing my parents and I know if I go into the ocean ill have no reason not too" He said smiling and shrugging it off. He didn't really mind about Lelei's eating mostly because he was polite and understanding. Though when he mentioned movement he froze, would Dante really try and break into his house? What if Lelei got hurt because of him, or Dante got away? Why couldn't he just date actual nice guys and not creeps in disguise.

He watched lelei with fear evident in his mind as she silently set his fork down. He had no idea what he was supposed to do. Was Dante really that obsessed over him? He wasn't exactly worth all the trouble of stalking especially with the police involved.

The fear showed quite clearly on Cody's face. Seriousness showed clearly on Lelei's. As much as it killed the mood of their little pseudo-date, Lelei put his job first in this case. Though it was more like he was putting Cody's privacy and safety first. Getting to know the young man a little more instilled a sense of personal obligation in Lelei, and he was going to put an end to the Dante troubles that night.

Slowly, Lelei pushed himself away from the table and stood up. His eyes were drifting along the walls, and his attention was on nearly everything else except what he was doing. The entity he was sensing was still moving, and he wanted to know its precise location at every second.

"Cody, whatever happens, you need to keep me between you and him... If you talk to him, it'll be from behind me."

Lelei's slow walk turned him in the direction of one of the first floor bedrooms, and he started getting a sneaking suspicion that he knew what was coming next.

He stood outside of the bedroom door, ready and silent. After a minute, a very soft thud could be heard from inside the room. Whoever it was, though most likely Dante, had jimmied open one of the windows and had slid it open. They were probably entering the room just as Lelei turned and tried to confront the intruder before they could get into the house proper.

"Freeze! You are unlawfully entering a private property! Get down on the ground and tell me who you are!"

Cody was worried about Lelei, he hadn't exactly discovered what Dante's power was but he was pretty sure it was something horrible. It was like whenever Dante was angry he had this scary aura around him that Cody hadn't ever felt before. It's why he was so scared to do anything but call the police, confrontation was not something that was on his list of things to do. It was one thing to ask someone politely to leave you alone but Cody could never pull of the confident demanding tone that came with telling someone to fuck off. If he was being honest, he just wanted to run into his room and shut the door.

When the person stood up and Cody saw who it was he could feel the bile rise into his throat and sink back down. "O-O-Officer Lelei, that's h-him, that's D-D-Dante" He wanted to run so bad, why couldn't he just have a normal sex life, one riddled with one stands and non stalkerish exes that felt some kind of weird claim over him? He looked from Dante and then back the floor from behind his protector. He just wanted the man out of his house, Dante had never been violent with him Physically and any bruises were from rough sex but he didn't want to test the man that had already broken so many of Cody's personal boundaries. He already put seven locks on his door.r

"I-I don't know what to say, I just want this to end" He said more to Lelei than to Dante. Cody already knew that Dante wouldn't like Cody not addressing his presence he was just hoping that if he ignored the problem it would go away.

Dante seemed to grow more confident. The lights began to flicker, until there was a sole lamp on in the living room. The shadows appearing fairly quickly and inching their way towards him. "I just want my boyfriend to come home with me, Cody the shark man doesn't have to get hurt" As he spoke, a shadowy hand seemed to creep towards Lelei and Cody. Knocking over the pictures on the wall

Cody's confirmation was all Lelei needed for identification. Though it was not like the home invader could be anyone but this one guy standing in front of Lelei, unless Cody was keeping more secrets than he could have imagined. Now was the time for action, however, and Cody's words were all the go-ahead Lelei needed.

The moment Lelei stepped forward, hands up at the ready for anything, Dante showed that he was more than a mere stalker. He also had powers. While Lelei had secretly hoped that would not be case, he was not surprised. On Manta Carlos, there were more powered people than regular people, and he knew that first hand. But expecting Dante's abilities was different from being prepared for them. Lelei had only moments to evaluate the danger Dante posed, and figure out how best to counter him.

"No one needs to get hurt here, Dante! If you'll just cooperate and come with me, we can all get out of this just fine!"

The police as well as Lelei exercised a policy of minimizing violence and injury to everyone, including suspects. Best case scenario was that Dante just complied with Lelei and came along peacefully. The shadow hand creeping along the wall indicated that that would not be an option.

"Stand down, Dante! Stand down!"

Lelei started a steady approach for Dante. The young man would only have moments before Lelei was on top of him, and trying to grapple him to ground. Less if he made any sudden moves.

Cody was scared, and when Dante disappeared into the shadows leaving him and Lelei alone in the living room he was even more scared. He had no idea what to make of it, he was shaking. Why did he always have to pick the bad guys? He had thought Dante was the normal one and he had so royally screwed up. Why was Dante even trying so hard when he was pretty sure the man was cheating on him. HE was so distant and enver told him anything, it seemed like he hadn't wanted Cody around and yet he was going through all the trouble of stalking him.

"S-s-sorry, I got y-you i-into this" Cody said quickly picking up the falling picture frames, most of his siblings and the huge rocks on the beach. They were his favorite places to sit after he went swimming and he was still wet and had his tail. After he was sure the picture frames were picked and put in their original places he took a deep breathe. He was still shaking but he was sure he could handle it.

He poured himself a glass of wine and then another one, and then another one. Soon he relaxed, the familiar taste of red wine calming him. Like a really hot bath and a nice book, he was so hoping that his night would be uneventful. That maybe the police being involved would scare the man into leaving him alone..apparently not. He also couldn't stand the thought of Lelei being involved or getting hurt.

When Lelei made the final attempt to grab Dante and pull him to the ground, his arms found nothing but air. The sudden non-existence of Dante caught Lelei off-guard, and he found himself face-first on the ground after the attempt to grapple Dante.

"What? He's gone?"

Lelei quickly picked himself back up and got to his feet, anticipating a follow-up from Dante. But it was for nothing. Either Dante had never been in the room, or he had managed to slip away using his shadow powers. Lelei did not like the idea of not knowing where Dante was at the moment more than simply not having around anymore.

While poor Cody cleaned up the picture frames, Lelei made a quick sweep of the house for Dante. His search turned up nothing, and that did little to assuage his worry about Dante's whereabouts.

"Don't be sorry, Cody. I signed-up for this. This is what I'm supposed to be doing..."

Lelei calmed down, but did not like the sight of Cody downing several glasses of red win in rapid succession. He understood that he was trying to calm his nerves. But it was still alcohol, and that much at once was not going to be nice to him.

He came up behind Cody and put a calming hand on his shoulder.

"Maybe you should lay off the red wine, hm? I think some sleep will do you better. I'll keep watch. Although it will have to be from outside the bedroom. It's not like I can cuddle with you to make you feel safe. Heh..."
